Why are you doing sm??? trying to kill kpop?? Rant

SM officially announces debut of boy group NCT with infinite members
SM to release a digital song every week for the entire year... 'first up' is Taeyeon

I know very much that sm is trying to step in the game against yg, but releasing a new song every week, it's .. it's .. I don't even have the words. It's just sooooo beyond ridiculous that I might have to create a new word to describe what I'm feeling right now.

I mean you're already pretty estabilished now, with a fantastic group, exo, king of physical sales, so you don't have to worry about your income. But still there is Shinee, snsd, and some exo members can also write songs, Taeyeon alone is reaching lots of records that I would never expect. So I really don't understand. Is it bcs  TVXQ are in army, or bcs SJ doesn't appeal enough to you anymore(that album cover was really horrible btw). Why feel the need to destroy kpop with a copycat of AKB48???? Why???

I mean I love japan, but not those girls. they're like producs to me that don't even know how to write a single F song by themselves. I love japan for his originality, culture, and bizzare things. Like no other country can have their sense of fashion or the ability to be cool only by putting a vending machine every 2km in the middle of nowhere just bcs they feel like it...

(I want these things in italy soooo bad)

sorry i'm rambling. but let's get back to the real problem here

I predict that this project will flop in less than 3 months. First of all they are over producing and basically tiring out the market. The market and general public will probably have enough of these constant SM releases pretty quickly and their digital sales will decline. Further more, their individual artists are in general not well known enough by the public to generate much attention, most of them are seen as ''idols'' which doesn't really grab the attention of the general public.. Most of the profit SM makes is from fans bulk buying the 10+ different versions of their albums. I doubt that concept can work in Korea's fandom culture where leaving the group is seen as betrayal and personal fans are seen as akgae.

And YG also received hate bcs his new type of promotion, but at least he's doing it with one single artist, like they do in US(Taylor Swift, Adele, Beyonce, Imagine dragon, Justin Bierber and so on) but this.. this this is so absurd. and I feel really really really bad for those poor trainees that trained all day long to only have to share the spotlight with 40 members or more. WHAT THE FORK ARE YOU DOING YOU GREEDY $$$ CEO-nim??? What are you going to do if they feel let out(bcs of very very small lines they have) and end up like Tao, Kris and Luhan???

and then Don't you feel bad for those songwriters that will get stressed out bcs of the overwhelming work they would have to do??? EACH F WEEK. I would be okay if the trainees themselves wrote the songs themselves, but we all know how sm work(exclude Shinee). It took more than 5/6 years for Taeyeon to have her solo debut. and now this happens. The girl need rest for Jesus Christ!!!!!  I DON'T WANT, no.. KPOP DOESN'T NEED A KOREAN VERSION OF AKB48. PLEASE DON'T!!!! JUST DON'T!!!

I'm not an anti, I listen to exo, taeyeon and shinee, but this concept or whatever system they plan to do, worries me. I'm really worried about how these kids are gonna get treated too. Especially since there's no stability about this. I understand trying to localize the whole Hallyu thing but what's going to make non-Asians buy into a style of music copied by foreigners that's already present in their countries? What makes this group of kids from Asia special? Do other countries even like the whole musical group thing? I know Americans don't anymore especially when it's a group more than 5 people. Asians are massively underrepresented in non-Asian countries so what's so great about these kids that they'll change that? So many questions and I don't absolutely have a good feeling about this. This too wrong. and sounds like it's going to be very messy too.

sigh.

I'm not sure if the group will flop. Tbh, I don't think it'll flop.
Sm isn't foolish enough to expand this much and treat it as if everything is a game. They have a plan and well... from our eyes it's a messy plan, but they know this plan will generate a lot of revenue if not pass what Exo generates them. (That is unlikely possible, but we shall see if these boys create the same hype as how Exo first debuted) but I think SM will obviously be super successful with their debut group in korea, but not sure about the other countries though. Most likely they will be successful, just not super successful.
I hope I don't get disappointed because this marketing strategy is definitely impressive. At least, they're projecting something that hasn't been tried out in Korea.

The ceo that we have to deal with atm in SM .
He can't even manage exo correctly since 3 already left.
I wont be surprised if nct debutes then a few days/weeks after the debut happens, a member leave cuz they were over worked.
