trainee background » When Hyerin was only 12 years old, her distant cousin and her appeared on Star King to perform. She did tap dancing, ballet as well as hip hop, while her cousin performed his self-written song. At that time, BoA was part of the panel team and she immediately recommended Hyerin to go on a private audition for SM Entertainment. Hyerin was accepted to train as an idol, and stayed in SM Entertainment until she was 16 years old. She left SM Entertainment after she was eliminated from debuting as a member of f(x) and Red Velvet. In 2013, ATLAS Entertainment scouted Hyerin after getting recommendations from SM Entertainment. Hyerin was immediately put into the debut project team and started training with the other members. As she has always focused on improving her dancing skills, ATLAS Entertainment started strict and extensive vocal training for Hyerin. She started feeling the pressure and even fell ill a couple of times in a month, due to stress and lack of sleep. However, things eventually got better after she talked to her family and her team members, and also a senior (Sunggyu) whom she slowly developed feelings for.

She is very bubbly, loud, blunt and is an extrovert. Once she meets someone, she'll be friends with them right away. That's why her members say that Eunhye has the most celebrity and non-celebrity contacts in her phone. Her bubbly personality makes people around her happy. She will suddenly tell a joke or jokingly imitate someone when she thinks that the atmosphere is somehow awkward. Although idols normally needs to keep a distance when trying to be friends with the opposite gender, netizens and fans are aware that Hyerin's personality is naturally like that and being really close to a guy is normal for her. background » Hyerin's parents lived in Singapore since they were high school students, where they established their first business. Hyerin comes from a wealthy family. Her family owns a number of department stores overseas, such as Singapore, Japan, and China. So while her father goes back and forth between Korea, Japan, Singapore, and China, Hyerin and her mother is forced to live life like they're the only one in the family. Hyerin and her mother basically only met her father once or twice a year, and that's just two weeks each. Hyerin father is way too busy to remember that there are people waiting for him at home.

» The reason Hyerin started doing music was because she felt really lonely at home without the presence of her father. Although Hyerin and her father were never especially close, she always wanted to be a daddy's girl, and the one that her father will shower with gifts and kisses once in a while. However, it was not the case. She was always left alone when she was younger. So one day, she was so scared of the silence, she the television. There was this foreign dancing program going on the TV. Dancing on her mind was more like those hip hop, b-boy kind of thing. But that time, she witnessed something different, it was ballet. She then started browsing easy dance moves, and learnt it by herself. A couple of months later, her mother saw her dancing in front of the mirror, and decided to send her to a dancing academy.
