 when they were young, they were literally identical. they both have huge eyes that seem to just stare into everybody's soul. they bothhave heart shaped lips and button-like nose. both of their skin is equally pale and fair, never having many problems when it came to ance. though they seem to share identical scars. taewoo's is on his right palm while taewon's is on his left palm. the only thing that helped differ between them was that taewoo has a small mole in the corner of his right eye, while taewon's is on his left eye.
 taewoo keeps his hair short and pretty normal. he likes the color black (despite it making his pale skin stick out more). unlike his brother, taewoo prefer to stay indoors so he weighs less and doesn't have much muscle. his shoulder are more narrow than his brother's and he hates it. his feet are smaller than taewon's also.
 taewon likes being wild, so he dyed his hair red. like blood red. he keeps his hair short also, but he tends to style his hair unlike taewoo who just brushes his and he's done with it. being the more sporty twin, taewon has gathered a bit of muscle and tends to flaunt them around taewoo (even though the difference in muscle isn't very noticable).

 seoul, south korea (birth-5) : the birth of the yang twins isn't a pleasant one. honestly, they weren't even planned correctly. they were the result of a gold digger situation. park minah only tried to get pregnant so she could get a hold of the yang fortune that woojun inheritated from his grandparents. seeing as his lastest woman got pregant, he had to stay with her. when the twins were born, woojun learned about minah's gold digger ways and only wanted his money. he confronted minah which resulted in minah giving up total custody of the twins to woojun, saying she didn't even want kids in the first place. when the twins were around the age of three, woojun lost his job and was expelled from college because he had to take care of his twin boys. he actually resented the two boys, them being the reason why his life was destroyed. that was when he called in his older brother as he always knew what to do. for the next two years, it was filled with court dates and lots of papers, but it was worth it when donghyuk got the official papers. he was now the twins' legal guardian. not wanting to stick around in case the twins had to run into their mother or father again, donghyuk took them to america for a fresh start.
 new york city, new york (5-9) : new york was perfect. donghyuk hadn't known much about his nephews until his brother called for help. donghyuk wasn't prepared to fall for the precious boys as if they were his own children. not wanting the twins to have a horrible life like it was for the first  three years of their life, donghyuk managed to land a job at a law firm. even though he had enough money to last him for the rest of his life, he only used it for important things. he wanted to teach the boys what it was like to live a (somewhat) normal life.
the twins were inseparable, they never left the other alone. if taewoo didn't want to go, then taewon didn't want to go either. sometimes they were so attached to each other that it was hard for donghyuk to even dress them because they wouldn't let go long enough to do so. the man knew it was from the neglect they suffered from his younger brother's treatment. he swore to make them feel loved until the twins themselves say they don't need him anymore.
the four years in new york were rather awkward as donghyuk was trying to teach the twins american culture amongst other things. the twins learned that there were other people there for them and they didn't need to rely soley on themselves anymore.
 beijing, china (10-14) : soon enough, the yang family found themselves in china after donghyuk had gotten a new job offer. donghyuk thought it was a good idea to show the twins another culture and language. they settled in rather nicely in beijing, the older women, of the apartment complex they lived in, just loving the way the twins clung to each other. it was after the first year in china when the twins started to branch out into different paths. they started to spend time apart and became distant. it was like walking on eggshells during that time. anything would trigger the twins into a childish fight about stupid little things. donghyuk really didn't know what to do. it was when he walked in on them with fists flying everywhere that the situation was getting worse.
donghyuk found out that there were a bunch of kids teasing the twins closeness, trying to get them to do things they did not even understand yet. the twins were changing because they didn't want to be bullied anymore. having enough of china, donghyuk decided it was time to move once again.
 falls church, ia (15-19) : they found themselves back in america, this time staying in the state of ia. donghyuk knew of the perfect community that the twins would fit right in with. it was the perfect decision donghyuk had ever made. new friendships brought them back together, becoming the inseparable twins they used to be.
despite their china years being mentally difficult, donghyuk will concur that the years in ia were equally difficult. with how the culture was in america, it was like a switch was flipped inside the twins. donghyuk would sometimes find the twins spooning each other when they went to sleep or sitting in each other's lap while they did their homework. it definitely put donghyuk on edge as he also didn't know how to deal with these things. the day donghyuk walked in on the twins kissing each other is when he knew he had to do something. as much as the situation shocked him, donghyuk still loved the twins very much. he actually researched and found out that it was a bit normal for identical twins to be like this, somewhat. donghyuk really didn't care, the twins were still the same in his eyes (though he was a lot more careful, knocking before opening any closed doors).
in the meantime, the twins both found a passion in music. due to the asian community they lived in, a few of their friends had introduced them to kpop. it was a magical experience, something the twins could cherish together. they begged donghyuk to let them go to vocal and dance lessons, dreaming that maybe one day they can be like their number one idol rain. donghyuk not being able to ever say no to the twins, allowed them to go to lessons. like their education, the twins excelled in their studies and were the talk of the community, whether it was a dancing competition or a simple charity event. it was when the little family took a vacation in korea, donghyuk saying it was long overdue. the twins managed to gather eyes wherever they went and donghyuk knew that this was the life they wanted. one of donghyuk's friends was holding a friendly get-together and invited the twins to come along. the party ended up being a free concert of sorts. donghyuk's friends overheard him talking about the twins' progress in training. the friends managed to persuade the twins to show off their talents. the twins had made everyone silent with their improved performance. on of the people at the party just happened to be a representative of saseum entertainment. he approached the twins andpraised them of their performance. he slipped them the company's card, if they ever wanted to really become an idol.
 seoul, south korea (20-present) : that vacation led the twins into begging donghyuk to let them live in korea so they could join saseum. they didn't even care that saseum wasn't even that popular, it was just the fact that a real life company liked what they saw in the twins. within a few months, donghyuk found himself bringing the twins right back to south korea (he didn't have to, but the twins convinced him to come along with them). after contacting donghyuk's friend about auditioning for saseum, the man managed to get the twins a private audition since their public auditions had just ended. of course, they were accepted. and well...the rest is history!

 they are rain's biggest fanboys ever. they have a huge collection of his albums and movies.
 their favorite cartoon was an old one that they watched back in america called yin yang yo. they always make puns from the show because of their names. don't underestimate them, they know the theme song by heart.
 they have commented that they favor girl groups when doing remixes, saying that their voices are easier to work with.
 if asked which female idol is their ideal type, taewon will answer aoa. taewoo will shrug and say:
"one that breathes."
 they have admitted that they were not together when they got their scars. taewoo was at home sick while taewon was at school. taewoo was making himself a sandwich and the knife slipped out of his hand. taewon was at recess and a kid pushed him towards a rose bush, causing his hand to get sliced by the thorns. later that day, they found out that it had happened at the same time. ever since that day, the twins treasure their scars and will always hold their scarred hands together.
 taewoo has stated that he has hit taewon with a frying pan once when they were eight. it was their uncle's birthday and they promised to make him a birthday cake in bed. taewon forgot and continued to sleep in. taewoo hit him with a frying pan to wake him up, but it only made matters worse as donghyuk woke up from the noise and was able to stop the kitchen from setting on fire.

TRAINEE life :
 the first four years were pretty much their own independent training. as they weren't really ready for auditioning, they continued to hone their skills in multiple lessons and their own studying. the training that took place in korea with saseum was rough to say the least. being so used to american culture, they soon had to redirect their habits and learn to adjust to the new environment. though one thing stayed the same...they were still inseparable, as will they be for the rest of their lives.

  : false : maybe during fire & ice's second or third promotions, rumors began flying around the internet that the twins were involved with each other. along with their close interactions (even in different sub-units), the rumors just got bigger and bigger until the twins could no longer handle the hate and unwanted attention it gathered. they (mostly taewoo because taewon isn't good with public speaking) released a full statement after a saesang attempted assualt on the twins because of the rumors.
"taewon and i are closer than normal twins. we grew up in a single parent household. hell, our birth parents didn't even want us."
a few gasps in the audience, taewoo shifts a hand to caress his twin's, trying to calm his nerves.
"we were only three. all we had were each other. we were afraid of being left behind. thankfully, our uncle was the one who took us in and taught us that we didn't have to be alone anymore."
taewoo squeezes his hand, earning a small smile from taewon.
"then something happened to us when we lived in china. we were constantly teased for our closeness. we were outcasted from the moment they saw us."
the older twin turned his head to taewon, feeling him tremble in his hand.
"then the older kids thought the teasing wasn't enough. we were forced to do things that we didn't understand. they took advantage of our closeness and made us..."
taewoo's trailing words were folled by a broken sound coming from taewon. there were tears gathering in his eyes, unwanted memories flooding their minds. both twins could hear the schocked voices of the people in the audience. taewoo tightens his hold on taewon's hand before finishing what he started.
"we were manipulated and molested. it tore us apart. we fought over everything. we didn't even talk to each other for a whole month."
taewon could see that taewoo was starting to tremble, squeezing his hand in return.
"...it took us a whole year to get back to how we used to be. our uncle was the reason we are here today, why we are both here."
with that said, both twins stood up, showing the crowd their intertwined fingers.
"we have something that most of you don't understand. most think we are crazy or sick, but one thing is certain."
taewoo turns to taewon as they both break out into a huge grin, opening their mouths at the same time.

 the twin's relationship with yoonseok is a very complex thing. neither twin can put their relationship into words. yoonseok was the first person to ever acknowledge each twin individually and not as a pair. it intrigued thet wins and they wanted to learned more about their hyung. you could say the twins fell in love at first sight. yoonseok knew how to treat each twin separately and even together. when all three of them are together, you can hear the sound of perfect harmony in the background.
yoonseok is like the missing puzzle piece to the complicated puzzle that is the yang twins. he balances both of the twins positives and negatives. most of the time, he's the responsible one of the group, able to settle disagreements between the twins quickly. yoonseok takes care of the twins as much as the twins take care of yoonseok.
despite yoonseok being their hyung, the twins truly dominate in their relationship (with taewoo being a power bottom when he feels like it). they pamper and spoil their precious hyung with all the love they can give. the twins are definite little demons when it comes to their ual side of the relationship. they cannot take their hands off of yoonseok. they practically worship his body and the ground he walks on. many times the twins can be too forward with their advances and overbearing, but yoonseok wouldn't have them any other way.
