° daewa is a special little apple. innocent doesn't even begin to explain this adorable boy. he is as dense as a ton of bricks, as you need to be extremely blunt in order for him to actually get what you are saying. sarcastic sayings and sly jokes just go straight over his head, blinking and not understanding what you are saying at all. although many think because of his obliviousness makes him dumb, it's actually the other way around. he is a bit smart, he knows how to study and get those good grades, though his common sense is a whole different story.
° violence is the one thing that gets daewa boiling. his childhood was fairly normal and a bit sheltered, so he never really got to experience most bullying or fighting for most of his life except from dramas and movies. any time he sees anybody wanting to fight, he calms himself and will interrupt the fight. he never liked to see fights in the first place as they really make him sad deep down. even if the fight started throwing punches, he doesn't care if he gets hit, he just wants to stop any violence from getting even worse.
° friendly, or maybe overly friendly, is what daewa really is. he's the most sweetest thing ever, most people not having the guts to tell him he did something wrong or something sad. naive and honest, those words fit him to a tee. too naive the rest of his friends thinks. he's one of those people who really can't tell who's a friend or foe. this causes a lot of trouble for the boy, since a lot of boys take advantage of his loyalty and obedience and just run right over him. the sad thing is he just doesn't realize that he's being stepped on, too oblivious to the bullying people to do him. he literally thinks everyone is his friend.

° daewa's parents were an odd pair. his father who enjoyed cooking with a passion and a japanese mother with a hot-headed personality. they were complete opposites, but somehow it attracted them together. they were inseparable. his father ended up taking over his grandparents samgyupsal restaurant, which he was extremely happy. his mother enjoyed his father's cooking and ended up working with him at the restaurant, her looks attracting a lot of customers and ranking their place as very popular with the most wonderful food. after a year of wonderful business, his mother was put on maternity leave (in which made his goof of a father start freaking out about everything). when daewa was finally born (given the nickname ringo as a child since his mother was japanese), he was one loved child. the restaurant ended up getting even more stardom with the loving couple of the city because of the birth of their baby. daewa was always given attention because of his cute cheeks and pale skin like his mother. he was the light of the restaurant and his parents' life.
° as he grew older, he was still given all the love that his parents could give him. if he ever had a problem at school or felt depressed, his parents were there to comfort him. they were always there to help him up. around the age of ten, he started to help around the restaurant and learned a good amount of cooking and cleaning tips. all customers loved him, he was like south korea's little brother. he did whatever he could to make his parents proud, not like he couldn't since whatever he did whether it was good or bad, his parents would still love him.
° he surprised his parents when they let him try auditioning to be an idol. of course, they were happy with whatever he did. letting him practice for weeks, he was having a hard time for his young age since he kept getting no's for all the auditions he participating in. despite his rather oblivious tendencies, he knew how to focus and practice hard. even though he wasn't as rich or seasoned as the other trainees, he was just happy that he was able to get into woollim entertainment. because of his cute looks and personality, he was soon taken in by a group of noonas (mostly instructors along with some workers from his parents' restaurant) as their precious baby, protecting him from all the evil of the other trainees. he couldn't ask for more.

° after that first meeting, daewa looked up to yu sik like a role model. his senpai, if you will. he always followed the elder around the building like a little lost puppy. yu sik never had the courage to tell daewa to run off because who can say no to such an adorable boy? along with daewa's very affectionate actions, yu sik started to look at daewa with more than just adoration in his eyes. since yu sik is older than daewa, his body was more active than he wanted it too.
° he knew the adoration he held for the boy changed. he loved the boy. he would do anything for daewa. he just wanted to be around the younger and protect him from the bad things in the world. there was only one problem. daewa was as dense as a ton of bricks. you could be as blunt as can be and daewa would still not get it. despite yu sik's eager urges, he kept by daewa's side for whenever daewa needed him.
° daewa, like said above, is oblivious to yu sik's love for him. like in those overly cliche mangas, he doesn't know much about attraction. love to him is someone who is like family who you hug all the time and sometimes kiss. everything else goes right over his head. it's not that his parents didn't want him to know about those things, it was just that daewa wasn't like normal boys. while other boys were amored by girls and ual stuff, it was like it skipped over daewa.
