V. HISTORY.

seattle. the birthplace of the princess; she was beautiful and lovely and perfect. she was the cure, the glue, the solution. and the moment she came out of her mother's womb, that job was bestowed upon her tiny shoulders and small fingers. no one asked if she could handle it, they just dumped it on her and expected her to do something about her parent's relationship that was crumbling down like the roman empire. one big explosion at a time.

sadly, even perfect couldn't fix a lot of things. relationships included.

it lasted for three years before diana's mother decided to call it quits, because even she couldn't change diana's father. the man was just too much of thrill-seeker to put it nicely. night after night he came home smelling of another man or woman, but mostly men. diana's mom didn't necessarily cared about people's ualities, and all she could ever really ask for is for her husband to keep it in his pants. but he never did and maybe never will.

so on the night diana's dad went out for another rendezvous in capitol hill, diana and her mom packed their things and moved to her grandma's house in san diego.

it was sudden but expected.

what they didn't expect was the onslaught of missed phone calls from diana's dad asking, begging, for them to come back. he promised he'll be good, he promised he'll do better.

it only lasted for a month before he was caught with a man on their living couch.

san diego. the birthplace of diana's discovery of her mom's true uality, and hers. she was, fourteen then, when she saw her mom sticking her tongue down some lady's throat in the same apartment complex her, then girlfriend lived. turned out, the lady was her ex-girlfriend's mom and her ex-girlfriend almost turned into her sister

it was also then that diana's grandma said that homouality ran in the family. but it didn't. and it wasn't like that. because homouality wasn't a gene base thing, nor was it a choice. it was just there. it had always been there for diana. for her mother. for her father.

"it's a just a phase, dear."

her teacher said when she caught diana pressing some girl up in the lockeroom, lips locked against each other and all.

just a phase as her hand slided down her back, pausing just right above her . just a phase when she led diana out the door, touch lingering just the slightest bit. just a phase when diana rushed to the office and told the adminstrator about it, but no one would believe her because the teacher's married with three kids, all going to the same school as her. just a phase.

until it wasn't.
