saebyeol has always been very fond and passionate of the performing arts. it was a lifelong dream of hers to perform on stage. ever since she first grabbed a microphone at the age of six, she always knew that that was the direction she wanted to go to. she would do literally anything it takes to achieve her dream. despite her love for performing, she knows that she needs to have a backup plan, thus why she's currently taking political science at snu.

saebyeol is a person who never sugarcoats anything and this can often be seen as both a strength and a weakness to people. it's good that she tells the truth most of the time but it can often be misunderstood as her putting herself on a pedestal while looking down on other people when that is never the case. if you based her solely on her looks, she can come off as a tad bit cold and unapproachable. well, you can say that that is somewhat true considering the fact that she's an ambivert which makes her extroverted and introverted with certain people in certain situations. at times, she'll be misintrepreted as a weak pushover when she has a very strong and overpowering personality. she's a bit wreckless in that sense as she rarely regards anyone or anything of a higher power than her when she wants to reach for something that she truly wants. she stands firm on her ground and is very opinionated and outspoken; not bothering to justify herself to s. she's also a very expressive story-teller, be it good or bad.

saebyeol believes that she is a very confident and strong young woman, both physically and mentally. in her perspective, she believes that she does not need the confirmation of someone else to tell her that she is beautiful or y because she has already implanted it into her mind that she is. she doesn't care if anyone else disagrees because having validation from herself is already good enough. although her confidence is often misunderstood as arrogance, she would never degrade someone purely for their looks or compare herself to anyone since beauty is very subjective to her. her passion for something is as high as her confidence in herself. she never gives up and she is always determined. she tries to look at failures as opportunities in disguises. she knows what she wants in life and she's always gravitating to what she wants rather than the "what if"s and the "could have been"s.

some people tend to avoid saebyeol due to her naturally brash and rough nature. in most situations, she wouldn't bother hiding how she feels if she dislikes it or is uncomfortable. she would roll her eyes, laugh, or cross her arms whenever she feels like it which people find quite rude about her. she doesn't really give respect to anyone unless they were to mutually show it to her which makes her very unconcerned and indifferent towards a lot of things. she doesn't let people to affect her outlook on anything.

saebyeol is also the type to refuse to acknowledge her mistakes. she rarely apologises to people because of her huge ego. she rarely backs down in situations, refusing to lose. she's a sore loser and she would mope around for days. but to be honest, it's pretty ironic how egotistical she is because she is very understanding and fair. she genuinely enjoys consoling people and helping people out with their problems. she would willingly lend you her shoulder to cry on and she would listen to anything you would have to say.

background —
cheon saebyeol was born in gangwon, south korea to a lovely korean couple who had been lovers ever since the second year of high school. three years later, her younger sister, saera was born. they were a pretty happy family. a year after saera was born, her father received a job offer to work in singapore so he brought the whole family with him. and that was when things slowly started to go wrong.

when she reached the tender age of fifteen, her father had passed away due to a sudden heart attack in work. with the sudden passing of her father, she started to rebel and mix with the wrong crowd. she would sneak out of the house with a fake id to go out clubbing or drinking with her friends who were much, much, older. and since she has always looked older than her actual age, it wasn't much of a problem to her and no one suspected that she was underage. she would get involved in things like alcohol, smoking, drugs, and boys at a young age simply to instill the feeling of rebellion in her, which also caused her to get a tattoo at a young age. she chose to have birds on her wrist because to her it had meant having freedom and being alive. another reason why she chose to get it was also to commemorate her father who had practically "flown away" from her life with his death. it wasn't like she didn't love her parents, she just wanted to feel alive in a way. until her father's old colleague saw her in a bar he was in and he took her home to her mother instantly. saebyeol broke down and confessed all her wrongdoings to her mother and luckily for her, she took it better than saebyeol had expected but that didn't stop her mother from up and leaving their comfortable life in singapore to move back to south korea. it was hard for her mother to find a house for them in seoul so they settled on a house in hansujang that was comfortably sized for the three of them to live in. saebyeol slowly recollected herself and ridded herself of her bad habits. after working hard in high school and graduating, she earned herself a partial scholarship from seoul national university. she is currently a first year political science major there and she works as a juice maker at a gym 20 minutes away from her house on friday nights and weekends to help her mother pay the house bills and her and her sister's education fees.

as for her interest and passion for the performing arts, she had discovered it through a somewhat unconventional way. she and her family were at a bistro for a weekly family outing. coincidentally, it happened to be an open mic night. as they were waiting for their food to arrive, saebyeol was watching the singers with her utmost attention. she was entranced and amazed by the people who would go on stage and pour their heart and soul out through song. it was just so fascinating for a young and naive saebyeol. her mother took notice of the look saebyeol had on her face and asked her if she wanted to try out and sing. saebyeol refused as she was nervous and scared but a young singer saw the situation and decided to step in, encouraging saebyeol to to sing and that they could do a song together. the singer had advised saebyeol to imagine that no one was in front of her and to think that it would only be her in the room. saebyeol was reluctant but she followed the singer anyways. she joined her up on stage and as saebyeol slowly started singing, she knew that nothing else could beat what she had felt on stage and that she would want to do it for the rest of her life.

▪ cheon saera | 15 | younger sister | saebyeol and saera are like cats and dogs at times and they could be like best friends at others. if they were to fight, they wouldn't talk to each other for weeks. but if they didn't, they would be talking and laughing non stop.

Situation — when saebyeol woke up a minute after the new year due to a subtle stinging pain on her arm, discovering the words ", sorry" on her forearm, she immediately assumed that it was her younger sister's doing so she went straight to her and confronted her about it. "what is this, saera?", she asked pointing to the tattoo on her forearm. her sister was confused to say the least and immediately denied that she had anything to do with whatever saebyeol was saying since there was nothing on her arm. refusing to believe her sister, saebyeol went to her mother to accuse her sister of what she had supposedly did. her mother quickly clarified for her sister and told saebyeol that she had nothing to do with it, not knowing that she and her daughters had the same prickling sensation on their bodies not too long before. saebyeol was upset and confused. why was she the only one who could see the words on her arm? she asked her mother if she had felt the same stinging sensation and her mother nodded. leaving the both of them confused. according to her mother, her mother's words were "bless you." and as far she could recall, those were the words that came out of her late father's mouth when they first met. she had a feeling that the words meant something but she just couldn't pinpoint what it was. that is until the january 11th when it clicked in her mind that it were the first words that would come out of her soulmate's mouth. she racked her brain in an attempt to find out who it was. but no one had said those words to her as far as she could remember, not even her current boyfriend, jungkook. she could still recall what jungkook said to her since the situation was too cheesy to not remember since he used an old pickup line on her. now she's confused since she knows that her soulmate isn't jungkook but she's also confused since she hasn't met the mystery man yet either.

saebyeol was confused. she found it weird that a simple ", sorry." was on her arm rather than jungkook's stupid "did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" line. she hadn't said anything to jungkook because she was afraid. she met up with jungkook in university and she tried all she could to avoid the topic of the tattoo with jungkook but it was hard not to talk about it considering everyone else was talking about it. like anyone else would, he asked her what was written on her. she subtly changed the topic and asked him. he responded with a cheeky grin and simply said "charming.". he was convinced that he was her soulmate because he remembered the sarcastic tone attached to the word she had said to him. she was nervous and she wanted to protect his feelings so she lied to him. she felt guilty but at the time, she thought it would be best.

later that day, saebyeol and jungkook went to the library for their little study date. she was looking through an aisle for a particular book while jaebum was re-stacking books on the higher shelves. as she was scanning through the books, jaebum had dropped a dictionary on her head. causing her to grab her head and wince out in pain. jaebum got off the ladder to check up on her. ", sorry.", he had said and as she heard those words it was like the pain had disappeared. he asked her if she was okay and he hesitantly attempted to caress her head but it was awkward and turned out to feel more like petting than caressing. and at the moment she responded with a lighthearted "i've been through worse.", he visibly froze and his hand was literally glued to her head. it was odd to say the least but deep inside the both of them had this weird feeling that they were each other's soulmates but since they weren't sure and they didn't know each other very well, neither said anything to the other.
