appearance » Always holding her head high allows others to gaze into her deep brown eyes. Her long honey blonde hair is often left down flowing down her shoulders reaching just to her lowest rib. Her natural thin bright pink lips stand out against her pale skin, she is catious on how much time she spends in the sun as she likes her skin light. Sumi is quite tall for a princess and stands at 5'7 and weighs in at 130, being tall she has quite a small and pretty much flat bodyline. When she moves she is very graceful and is elegant in what she does. To keep her cover intact Sumi will try to hold back her natural movements, possibly moving faster and a little more clumsily.

Princess' and Queens seem to come in only two varrities, either stuck up, rude and spoiled or generous, kind and loving. The later can be used to better describe Sumi, despite growing up a princess she had never taken anything for granted. Spending time with her mother she grew to become neglectful of herself and can sometimes damage her own health in order to care for others. A very giving person, Sumi may sometimes give too much of herself away causing her to grow envious of those around her. She doens't really show her envy but mostly keeps it to herself as she doesn't want to be view negativily. While she did grown up with loving parents she wishs things were different, that her parents were still alive and that her mother wasn't sick.

 

More often than not Sumi will allow someone else to be in charge and will be obedient just as she had with her father growing up. When things go south or Sumi strongly disagrees with a decision she will make her voice heard as she only wants what is best for the majority. Following both her heart and head Sumi can act on impulse, doing or saying things she normally wouldn't. Even though she has the greater good in mind and in her heart, Sumi might not always make the best decisions which could result in harm to herself; whether it be emotional or physical. While Sumi is able to handle someone yelling at her for a brief period of time if she is yelled at for an extended period of time or for reasons that are geared towards her she will excuse herself and find some places to let out her frustration at herself or whoever was yelling at her by crying breifly. 

 

Ocassionally Sumi will fall into her maternal instincts and may be found caring for someone as if they were her child either in giving advice or maybe tending to wound that might not really need care. This will only grow stronger as time goes on. When she is travleing with the group she will try not to act as graceful or elegant as she would within her castle walls since no one knows she is a queen and keep her secret will only keep her that much safer. In many ascpets unless approached first, Sumi isn't one to start a conversation unless she really wants to talk to someone. She is able to hold a polite conversation, pretty much small talk and will only go more into detail about herself when specifically asked. Sumi is one to take a more peacful route and will encourage others to do the same. She believes everyone has a price and when negotiated with a common ground will be found. For peace Sumi willing to give up more than most people would be willing, her parents did their best to keep the kingdom of Paevia peacful and that mindset lives on in Sumi.

Trivia

• With Donggun, Sumi has been pregnant 4 times, only one child she carried to term the others all lost during pregnancy. The child Sumi had carried to term died in childbirth. Despite this she will not give up no matter how much pain she must go through in order to give Donggun a heir.
• With her mother sick it was hard for Sumi to find free time to make any real friends, the only person she found friendship is was her handmaiden and even then Chrystal was really just her servant. 
• Sumi despeartly wants things to work between her and Donggun but things haven't been going well over the years. 
• Wears a locket her mother game her that hold a small slip of parchment that has her name and title in calligraphy, she added a second slip when she married to add her new name and title.
• She likes to sing old songs of her kingdom when she is alone, she doesn't really let anyone hear her sing besides her husband and Chrystal. 
• Sumi knows a little about fighting, her father taught her how to use a small knife while her husband taught her in private to use her ulaks. The pair she has is passed down through the Laynia bloodline and is their secret weapon. 
• Durring each of her pregnancies Sumi had an intense craving for apples, as her current pregnancy moves forward she will slowly start to exhibit this craving. In the beginning she may not recongize this. 
• When Sumi is questioned about her past she may be taken by surprise as she hadn't put to much thought into keeping her identity a secret. She will try to change the subject or talk about herself and distort some of the facts.
• If things don't work out between Donggun and herself, Sumi would like to travel back to Paevia and take up her throne. Recuritting a few knights she would like to slowly build an army to protect her kingdom.

background » On April 17th Sumi was welcomed into the world by her loving parents, the king and queen of Paevia.. Depsite the life of a princess Sumi led a pretty easy life besides taking the time to care for her sick mother. Years before Sumi's birth her mother was battling a sickness that would come and go, getting stronger with each occurance. Little did the castle know that there was a traitor amoung them. Working in the kitchens was a young mother who with time was slowly poisoning the queen. The poison was undetectable in small doses but with time and constant exposure it would be fatal. The poison also attacked any child the queen carried, she often miscarried, Sumi was her one and old child. It took years for the poison to take Sumi's mother but all that time she remained by her mothers side and cared for her. 

 

Sumi's mothers passed away just before her 20th birthday only months before her mariage to the King of Laynia, Sumi mourned her mothers loss all the way up to her wedding. During the time of her mothers sickness Sumi became close with one of the kitchen staffs daughters and not long after her mother employed the young girl to watch after her daughter. Sumi began to grow close to her new handmaiden, Chrystal took good care of the younger princess despite the 5 year age difference. When Sumi married, Chrystal was just 15 and her mother told her of the secret she had been carrying for so long. She made up lies about how terrible the king was and how she had poisoned the queen in hopes of ending the Sung line. The last time Chrystal saw her mother she taught her how to make the posion and how she should give it to Sumi, Chrystal agreed and from that point on their relationship was fake to her. Sumi trusted Chrystal with her life and she soon began to love her like a partner despite being married to the king. The poison began just after Sumi's mariage causing her miscarry every child her and Donggun have tried to have. Sumi wants nothing more than to give Donggun the heir he wants and then with his premission leave Laynia and take back the Paevia thrown with Chrystal by her side.

 

With the knowledge of a sick queen and a weakened king many other warring kingdoms had began to attack Paevia trying to take control of the land. With only a female heir if anyone could kill tge king they would force the princess' hand and become king. Many found this wasn't an esay task as the king would not let his guard down long enough for anyone to take advantage. Soon growing weak from the constant battles and his dying wife  King Jaehyun would seek out long time allies. He proposed the mariage of his daughter in exchange for the protection of his land and people and above all Sumi's life. The king found what he was looking for in the soon to be crowned prince of Laynia  Jang Donggun. With the advise of his father Donggun accepted the proposal and Sumi was now betrothed. Sumi didn't object her fathers decision since she knew he did so in good faith and it was the only option she could see that would protect the people she held dear to her, the prople of Paevia. With the wedding drawing near Sumi rarely had time to care for her mother and she was anxious to meet her soon to be husband. Events folded out in an unfourtunate order, while Sumi was away visiting Hardale the captial of Laynia and where she would soon live her mother passed away back in the castle walls of Paevia. 

 

Sumi was pleasantly surprised when meeting Donggun that she soon found she grew fond of him, her mood changed as she learned of her mothers passing and with noone to lean on she found comfort in the prince's arms. The relationship between the two began to bloom slightly as time passed and they married. The new king did all he could to keep his new queen safe from outside threats that no one noticed the traitor among them. Sumi from time to time woudl grow sick, she was never sick for too long but it began to raise questions when her first pregnancy ended horribly. Carrying her first child to term turned out to be the easy part but it broke the hearts of the kingdom when Sumi delivered a stillborn child.

 

Just after her first child birth and death her father passed away as well and Sumi fell into a deep depression. Without the help of her husband Sumi might not have made it out of her darkness alone, growing closer the two waited a year before trying for another child. This time Sumi only got a couple months into her pregnancy before she collasped one day in the garden in pain only to come to learn she lost another child. With the knowledge of her mothers sickness no one looked further into anything else believing it just to be genetic. 

 

A few more years went by and with each loss Sumi was only pulled further from Donggun, the bloom that had been there before withered away and would soon die as Sumi began to lean more of Chrystal. Donggun knew of Sumi's feeling for her handmaiden and hoping the young girl could help his wife he allowed her to stay close.

 

Now 5 years after Sumi married the prince of Laynia to become the queen she has been targeted other kingdoms, even thought she is unable to bare the kingdom an heir. With much thought and eyes on the kingdom Donggun has learned that Chrystal has been poisoning his wife. Wishing to send her away to protect her, Donggun has sought the help of the King of Alterie, he proposed for him to allow his wife to accompany them under a false identity. Just after Sumi left the castle Donggun executed Chrystal in private for her treachery. Sumi takes up the identity of a midwife, she has experience caring for her mother and knows quite a bit about child birth. Unbeknost to anyone even herself,  Sumi is also pregnant, without the poison she should be able to carry a healthy child to term.

personality » Donggun has a pretty dominant personality, he is one that like to be in charge . Not many people oppose him but when opposed he can have a little bit of a temper and will force one into submission. Although in private Donggun is quite different, although he likes order when it comes to Sumi's behavor as queen he can sometimes find himself being to harsh to her and will apologize and excuse himself to regain him composure. He is kind but also firm in his ruling as long as you do as he pleases you will not see his firm side, get on that side and you will regret it. Deep down Donggun really cares for Sumi and also longs for there to be more between them. 

 

love story » Donggun was intrigued when he was first apporached by the king of Paevia and it took him a little bit of time before he agreed to the marriage. The two only met months before their arranged marriage and Donggun found himself growing towards the young girl he was present. When he found her crying after her mothers death the pull towards her only grew as he held the weaping girl and comforted her. He wont admit it to her because he does no feel the same towards him which he couldn't be more wrong. The failed attempts at having a child has only hurt their relationship. Donggun will and is doing all that he can to keep his queen safe, he doesn't want her to feel pain whether it be physical or emotional. He allows Sumi to see Chrystal and lets her stay in the castle but secretly he wishs she wasn't there. He is furious when he learns of Chrystal's actions and punishes her in private so he can tell his wife there had been an accident so she wouldn't have to deal with the pain of Chrystal's actions just yet. Donggun send Sumi off with a heavy heart but knows that she would be safer away from the kingdom now under attack with her being the primary target or simply being his wife.
