background : jin-kyong came from a small household in seoul, a mother and little sister who all cheer her on. her father having died before her mother gave birth due to a car accident. although she grew up without a father, she was still a happy child. it was her mother's suggestion to become a trainee at bighit. jin-kyong was always the smiley teen she still is now, her love of singing, dancing and rapping came about at the age of 3 when she first heard her own mother singing and actually understood what she was saying. her mother decided to start her off in vocal and ballet classes, wanting her daughter to grow up to have a beautiful dream and career in the idol world because she could see her passion from an early age. from then on, her focus was on studying, vocal and dance classes as well as a few art classes here and there. her studies came rather easy, but it was her singing and dancing that was the hard part. but with her dedication and determination, she was able to achieve her goals in singing and dancing, then branching off into a sort of hip-hop faze with rapping. her rapping skills were not at all good when she first started; she would usually get tongue-tied easily or forget the lyrics and have to start over. but with the same determination, dedication and a lot of practice, her rap skills improved just as much as her singing and dancing did. jin-kyong's mother applied for jin-kyong at the age of 11 and jin-kyong spent her teen years training and studying for her dream. despite many hardships she encountered, tears, sweat and a bit of blood shed, she stayed determined for her passion and mother.

TRAINEE life : jin-kyong entered the trainee life at the age of 11 which meant she spent 6 years of her life in training, preparing for debut. it of course wasn't easy, a lot of tears, hardships and bruises happened over the course of her trainee life. even though she had some experience in dancing because of her ballet days, she still had lot's to learn. jin-kyong came into the trainee life thinking it would be a breeze like her studies but she was given a crude slap to the face when she realized it was nothing like studies. it was very difficult, especially because of her age.
predebut : predebut, jin-kyong was like any other teen trainee. trying to balance her social life with her work life and it proving very difficult. she managed though, becoming great friends with the other members and especially with lee jimin. jin-kyong and jimin could usually be seen hanging out at cafe's and going shopping for random things or just walking around and talking about how their trainee lives were going.
