appearance — Her hair is dark brown and slightly curly at the bottom of her hair. She  considerably have a chubby cheeks, no matter how skinny she is, it is permanent. Also she stands at 168 cm and weigh on 54 kg as she always take care of her body by working out, swimming, and just working out again. For extra information, she have a nice abs in her stomach. It is, in fact, makes boys want to netflix and chill with her.

style — Maya's style is natural, like she just like things that aren't complicated and she enjoys wear such as: long waisted bottom, she thinks it fits her well and crop tees on several occasion. Well, it is unpredictable to guess what she would be wearing next -it may be a sport pants, she wears whatever she thinks it is good to go. But to describe her fashion? It would be edgy, casual, natural. It is just simple but stylish. Like, you could just have a knitted sweater, rad sunglasses, and a short to be a fashionista. That is what Maya wants. Her go-to fashion items will be rounded sunglasses, crop top, long waisted pants. And when she have a bad hair day, or she just too lazy to make her hair, she would wear a beanie, hat, or put it in a messy bun. x x x x x

But since she moved to New York, she goes from a surfer to a track-runner which she enjoys too but sometimes she misses surfing. She has been going to a lot of competition to represents the school which later grows her name in the crowd and soon goes from the New Girl to the Popular Girl.

The push from everyone makes her grow to achieve perfection. She just don't want people to be dissapointed on her and it makes a huge weight in her shoulder and she tends to keep it for so long until it tires her and become one of her problems.
(+) PERFECTIONIST
As she tries to please people, she grows into a perfectionist. She reaches for perfection in order to make people happy and proud on her. So, she is lowkey trying to be the center attention as they will look up to her because she is the little sister who kissed Leonardo diCaprio. Yes. And goes on a lot of magazines and she almost kissed Brad Cooper. And all the little sister do is running tracks twice a day.

she may looks like she is going to kill you by the firm stare that she gives to everyone or the structured, deep and leading voice she had. Yes, she is indeed intense and looks like a hypocrite that we always hate, but you might consider how she values friendship more than most people in the school. she cares to those she loves and if she really values someone, she gives a special treatment to them. And she tends to stick around by the people she loves and trusts them (giving by the fact she doesn't trust people so much). She'll take care of them and stands through thick and thin.
(/) COMPETITIVE / AMBITIOUS.
as she tries to keep her name above all the student, she grows to be competitive to all of her rivals. If she sees a potential rival to claim for her spot, she'd push herself more to push aside the rival and secures her spot as the highest. She takes things seriously and it also makes her ambitious to the things she wants. She just don't do it half time. She just does it, really well and really hard. That makes her a good competitor on the running track as well in the classes as she aced her classes. She wouldn't stop until she is satisfied.

She gets really tough on everybody as she's trying to keep everyone away from her spot. And it kind of leads her to become an arrogant person as she tries not to socialize with mostly anyone, yeah, you read it right. She doesn't have much friends in school, except her fellow runner, Mitchie. She hardly helps people just because she doesn't want to be bothered. She just really wants to do it alone. She got this.

She just runs from everything, it becomes her instinct: problems, run. She have a habit of ignoring problems until it goes away. As you can see, she is also an aphatist. Sometimes, it goes away -sometimes, it just makes it bigger. Usually, she will ignore the problem by looking like she is fine even though she doesn't.
(-) STUBBORN.
She does what she wants. She will go what path she want to take, and there is nothing you could change about it -even though you know that path will lead her bad, she still goes through it until she gets to the bad part. All you can say to her is: I told you so. And that will repeat so many times.

She keeps everything for herself, mostly the bad things because only bad things happen in her life. She suppres her true feelings, anger, and sorrow on herself until it weighs her. But that's okay, because she is the only one who knows about it. She hides her feelings well and tends to be dishonest about herself and her environment.

background — In 1996, a newborn baby was found crying in an unknown trashbin in front of an empty house in California. A year later, the baby grew up in orphanage. The nuns named her Maya for Light. So, the baby's name was Maya. It was going so well and she was happy with her fellow foster friends until a parents came take her to a new home. Her life became better as she finally had a family. It was only her foster mom, foster dad, and her. The three of them were beyond happy. She had family, friends, good grades, and a life she deserved. Well that didn't last forever when her foster parents got into a great accident and killed them both instantly. She was depressed and sent back to the orphanage.

The second house was the Song's house. She was picked by the Songs to be their second daughter. She was picked when she was 15 years old and Mrs. Song was a bit more than liking her so she adopted her and took her to New York. Not to mention, Mrs. Song and Maya connected very well from the first step and it made her even better. She was recovering and she was happy all over again... yeah, until she knew that her foster sister was the biggest actress in the city which she found out 3 days after she moved in. At that moment, she was happy and totally cool to have a famous sister who really fills the sister position correctly.

But as she was starting school, people were starting to brag about her sister when she called her last name was Song. They'll be like: "what. You're not korean?" and/or "Song as in Darielle Song?" and they goes from zero to hundred. They would be all talking about Darielle. It was all about Darielle. She was devastated and felt out of place with her family. Until she pushed herself and grew to be a bit more than just a plain adopted sister of Darielle Song. She started to be seen as the Almost-Valedictorian of Darielle's sister. Darielle has always been stuck everywhere in her back. So she pushed herself more, to become better than Darielle -which kind of impossible but she didn't mind as long as it shrinks a little.

 Mr. Song | father | caring, gentle, wise, on time  | They occasionally joke around, hit each other, and have some tense moments where the dad knew what she has been up to and the kid tried to make an excuse and it ended up with grounded. His dad sometimes told her wise words when he caught her being weird. He was aware about her goal to catch perfection and tried to give her some suggestions or things that may help her out of her trying to catch perfection but none could shake her.

 

Mrs. Song | mother | caring, patient, carefree, friendly | Like the other moms and her daughter. They sometimes spend their time talking naturally and hang out like a mother and daughter would be. It's a clean relationship where the mom really cares and protect the daughter and the daughter will always go back to her mother whatever she has done.

 

Darielle Song | sister | Charming, Two-faced, Thoughtful, Open-minded | she is a good sister for one. She just kind of fills the position for Maya. She gives her things, be good to her, and plays around with her. If she have a free time, she occasionally uses it to have a quality time with her. Whenever she is around, she just keeps Maya around from her loneliness because that is what sister do yes? But she sometimes aren't in the same feet with Darielle. As Darielle is two-faced and selfish and greedy, Maya couldn't handle to see her being a . She sometimes talks back to her or either leaves her alone because 'I can't deal with your bulls, Darielle.'

 

relationships — 

Miranda Flawn | frienemy | y, Dishonest, Two-faced, Sly | She is the alpha in her circle of es friends where she will always be the one to plan the parties, host rad parties, and make evil plans that includes the nerds. Maya hates her (sometimes hate is understatement) but she is the only key for Maya to actually survive in that school so she just follows her like a minion

 

Taylor Mellark | a fellow runner | Thoughtful, friendly, loyal | she is the only person she enjoys its company. She is the only person she could talk with enjoyment in the school. She just doesn't ask to much and doesn't judge people easily. She doesn't want to know people's bussiness until it became hers and/or they talk about it. Taylor and Maya talks about things when they run, or they feel like it. It's just a relationship full of platonic talks.

the one and only.

background  — Basically they know each other right after she moved in with the Songs. They went to the same neigborhood yet never spoken a word to each other. It sounded impossible but it happened to the two of them were most likely fate didn't play their part because they never went into the same class and Theo's parents were most likely didn't love to socialize with other neighbors so yeah. Maya had a little teeny crush for Theo on the first time she laid her eyes on him which is on the first day with the Songs where the neighborhood was having a party meanwhile Theo's family was hoping into the car, going somewhere with his family, across the street, he was already popular in his own little world. But Theo never did noticed her, until Maya came to the top of her classes, slays the track running and joins a part of his society. Theo's first impression was how good she was holding her things and clapped for the things she aced -that was just it. There was nothing special, just ordinary. Then, on a beach party which both attended, Theo's face fell when he see how good she was on surfing and it kind of made him a bit jealous and competitive of her so he just lowkey stays away from her.
 

interactions  — they never had a conversation before Fate revealed. They just had several brief stares, but they never smiled to each other. They just never feel to smile or speak to each other.  They noticed each other, but they just had brief stares whenever they accidentally found themselves around. Even when Theo walked past her, he just brushed shoulder with her and she was okay with it. They never attemped to have any social shapes between the two of them, well that was before Fate revealed itself. After they knew who they really are, they don't have enough choice but to become a team. So after that, they found themselves most of the time together and spend time together much often. Everytime they are together, there is this soft tension and a deep chemistry about the two of them which makes them connects more deeply than it should have been and have a few deep conversations despite a lot of banters about things they don't agree on. They don't just banter and chat deeply, they also tend to have a few intentional skinship (which makes them more composed and not-so-lost to each other and the things they are going through) like holding hands, long stares, hovering at each other and touches that they really embrace. That also mislead people on how both really feels about each other, sure they care for each other but none is sure about the amount, only the two of them who know.

1) Mrs. Song and/or Mr. Song adopted her because she knew that Maya is Nike. She is somewhat have a connection with the Gods -she needs to make sure that the Gods is well enough to receive the Fate. She needs to make sure that none of them died or things like that before they could take part on the prophecy. She is like one of the guardians that needs to keep the Gods safe.

2) or the greek gods really plays their part and make sure Maya in the right hand so Mrs. Song just interested in adopting her.
