— shin minah; a nickname just as worse as the 'holly' puns, it's pretty much used by every other korean in the neighbourhood. it's pretty much because their names are not really similar.

DESCRIPTION: somehow ending up as the best friend of the worst of the three heirs, holly shin mira is the girl in a black hoodie and magnificent eyebags occupying the corner table at honey pork, hunched over and emitting a dreary aura. did you think the university student was working on homework? let's just say that when the dreamiest waiter at honey pork taps her shoulder and brightly gives her food on the house, she sits up straight immediately, pulls out her earphones and stashes her phone into her hoodie pocket. if you ever wondered what she's so focused on and manage to get her phone into your clutches, then you can unlock her password-less phone and see one of three following options: a) anime b)korean/american dramas or c) . 
PERSONALITY TRAITS:

it's a wonder why she's still at university when she's pretty much barely passing and it's obvious she doesn't care about her studies at all. always lazing off and putting off her duties until the very last minute, holly is a big mess who frequently ignores the voices in her head telling her to, oh, for god's sake, work harder. ignorant, rude, stubborn, and constantly criticising everything, holly isn't holy at all and she had a pretty bad reputation for being the kid who hangs around even when it's really dark and there are ( false ) rumours she smokes. the elderly all hate her because she has no respect for them and speaks informally to everyone. but those who know her understand that she doesn't mean to come off as malevolent — she's not very good at expressing herself and is in all honesty one of the best friends you could ever ask for if you look past her constant swearing and are able to withstand her frequent complaints. incredibly loyal and doing everything she can do to help. she's actually quiet dependent despite her 'tough' image that scares all the children away, and needs someone who'd tell her to get off her .

BACKGROUND: holly shin mira was born march 1st in 1993 to kevin shin joohyuk and miriam park eunhee. kevin was an accountant, miriam a housewife and part of park hangil's bloodline, which explains why they're financially stable even though only kevin works for a mediocre pay. holly is an only child, and since young her parents were the kind to let her do whatever she wanted, which is probably why holly is lazy and irresponsible. her parents don't regret their parenting style though- they raised a mess, but a benevolent mess with a malevolent front but. they have no plans to leave deerfield and since holly doesn't either, her being a nice person should be fine, even if her image is down the drain. those with a bad impression are all old people anyways, and quoting miriam, they'll die soon enough.
CURRENT LIFESTYLE: holly is still living with her parents and is a last year university student majoring in restaurant managing. her lessons don't happen everyday and most of the time she lays in her bed sleeping or watching god knows what on her phone, or she hangs around honey pork, eats the food matthew gives on the house, and occupy a table for the whole day after only ordering one drink and garnering glares. 
TRIVIA: 

— holly actually really likes children, which is ironic, considering every time children wander over to her she glares because who the is interrupting her watching whatever she's watching again? and when the children apologize and run off, it's too late for her to slap on a smile and be nice. same thing goes for animals. 
— she really does want to work hard, but when she sits down at her table, she gives in to the temptation to her phone and computer and ends up binging tv shows again. her graduation is approaching and she's even more terrified at losing her regular life, and seeks solace in watching more and forgetting her worries.
— she doesn't drink caffeine and her sleeping schedule is all messed up. when you see her dozing off in honey pork or at school, there is nothing that can wake her up except a hard smack, and no one dares to execute that except for jaebum.
— sloth holly leaps up and gives the finger to anyone who calls her shin minah. she hates people calling her that, but goes off calling everyone 'exclusive' pet names. jaebum is jaebutt, jieun is chef ( which is unoriginal ), ahyoung is onpar ( which infuriates ahyoung ), annabelle is bellerina ( holly sniggers every time she calls annabelle that when no one else finds it funny ), and matthew is mattew ( matthew is the only one who responds to his nicknames ) .
— she doesn't really talk, and when she does, it's either curt sentences or swearing. she finds it to much of a hassle and prefers using her eyes and hands. which just makes her weirder. she's trying to cut down on the swearing, though,

RELATIONSHIPS: 

im jaebum / 22 / manager of honey pork who doesn't do
saying jaebum and holly are just best friend would be an understatement. playmates since birth, they're practically reflections of each other, as they know every single thing about the other. holly likes asking how many times he's ed that day and they pour over sites together. their friendship has flourished to the stage where everyone in deerfield thinks that if they dated, it would be , and the multiple girls pining over him don't even treat holly as  a threat, and instead ask her for advice on getting jaebum's attention. her advice? "you like jaebutt? don't."

annabelle kim / 22 / ballerina / 
annabelle and holly disliked each other at first sight. the former took a dislike to holly's scraggly outfit and sunken complexion, and holly just dislikes anyone from the big city who turns up their nose at deerfield or honey pork. their few run-ins have proved them wrong about each other, and while holly still sees her as a tourist, she's happy seeing jaebum having someone else he finds solace in and after holly pulled annabelle outside and asked her to find jaebum a way into the music industry, their views on each other are now settled on "she's alright. pretty nice, i suppose."

kim ahyoung / 23 / chef at honey pork 
ahyoung and holly, though two different souls, actually get along pretty well. ahyoung is driven to break the traditions and holly admires people with a set goal as she herself hasn't. every time ahyoung thinks up a new dish ahd gets holly to try it, as the latter actually has some concrete suggestions. this relationship began after holly wandered into the kitchen when she was bored and jaebum wasn't around, swiped a bite of whatever ahyoung was making, and rambled on about how it could be better. they're not exactly friends, but they're more than acquaintances.

lee jieun / 22 / head chef at honey pork
holly is, frankly, kind of scared of jieun. they don't really talk, but from jaebum's tales, she knows how strict jieun can be and holly doesn't really like people who are uptight. she can't deny jieun is a great chef though, and if she had to choose an heir between the three, she would actually choose jieun. it's not every day she comes across someone so meticulous and passionate about their job and holly's respect for jieun is larger than ahyoung's, and she hopes someday she'll be able to find her goal as well.

THREE-SENTENCE PERSONALITY: matthew is the 'nice guy': kind, easy-going, and always seen with a smile on his face. like a flower in a greenhouse, he's gentle and to others a pushover, and holly describes him as delicate. he doesn't know how to speak up for himself and is, surprisngly, a frequent liar.
FIRST MEETING: go backwards to year two thousand, when nine year old mattew was getting cornered by a bunch of twelve year olds. seven year old holly was moping home after school and heard whimpers. turning around the corner she saw three older boys and, thinking they were bullying a puppy, stormed between them and with three siwft punches to the crotches they ran away. only when she turned around did she notice the scrawny boy lying on the floor, and with disappointment she stalked off. matthew followed from behind and that marked the start of his crush on holly and holly's occasional protection for him.
INTERACTIONS: nowadays matthew is, for unexplainable reasons, still enamoured by holly. he trails her like a puppy and even though holly finds him annoying and cllingy, she can't deny the affinity she feels for the male. the sole reason she won't date him is because she's certain matthew is capable of a lot more and doesn't want to limit him to the lazy with no future called holly shin. she's happy with what they have right now: a relationship where she knows he likes her but is comfortable with being around him anyways. she hits him if he jokes, he just laughs if she's mean, and that's it. everyone else can see they have something going on between them, but then again sometimes there seems to be nothing.
ENDING: they would date, but whether they break up or not is up to you.

COMMENTS: weeps. it's finally done. this isn't my best work but I did put quite a lot of time on it, so I hope you'll at least like holly. personally I reckon the most important aspect of holly's story is her growth as she finally gets a goal in life and works hard towards it. maybe she fails her last year, retakes, then goes and help honey pork? some sections are rushed and churned out even with minimal inspiration ( I'm talking about the love interest section ).
