People who doesn’t really know or isn’t relatively close to katsumi would often think of her as a rather quiet girl. but, once you get past her quiet side, people would find out that she does have a lot of things to say and opinions to share. She knows a lot of things and has a different insights about things in her surroundings. She also somehow gets nervous easily and doesn’t cope well with too much stress. Regardless, she tries her best to make things work out for her and enjoys life as much as she can.
Katsumi also doesn't believe that destiny is planned for you, you have to make your own destiny. She got her cynical personality with the fact that she saw how her mother suffered because of her father. Or as she would always refer to him, the man who broke their family. Also, because of that, she has a hard time getting into relationships or even simply having crushes. Easily trusting someone is also one of the things that she can’t do without being suspectful.
Katsumi was born in the philippines, in a family that only consists of her mother and her older half-brother (from her mother). Katsumi’s real father left her mother when he found out that she was pregnant with Katsumi. Being a halfie wasn’t really a good thing if one of your parents left you and the other one was away to work, leaving both of them with other relatives. Ever since she was a child, Katsumi despised her father for leaving them and for causing the kids in her school to bully her. The only friend that she had was her older brother, Samuel (whose father died when he was still a baby). They both loved each other like they were real siblings, even though Katsumi would always nag him about a lot of things, their relationship was good.
When Katsumi turned 6 and her brother turned 10, their mother, who was working in japan, decided to take the two children with her. The life in Japan turned out great for Katsumi. She started to socialize more, even though some still saw her as a quiet, shy girl. While living in Tokyo, Katsumi got into music and she completely fell in love with japanese pop. That was eventually switched out into Korean pop. She would always spend her free time by dancing to kpop songs or by trying to study the lyrics of the songs and singing it.
At the age of 13, Katsumi saw an audition ad on the internet about being a trainee. Without any hesitations, she decided to join it. It was really fortunate for her that she passed and got casted in JYP. At first, Katsumi’s mother didn’t really approved of it since she was still a little girl. but after a lot of discussions (and persuadings), her mother agreed and made the decision that their whole family move to South Korea to be with her. Thus, her days as a trainee began.

When Katsumi started being a trainee when she was 13, it was really hard for her. Mainly because she couldn’t understand almost half of the things that her instructors were saying to her and that she had to juggle her studies with her trainings (one of her mom’s orders). Her schedule only consisted of practicing her dancing and singing skills, studying for school. and eating. she didn’t even have time to play or enjoy her days just like the other teens in her age. Katsumi worked her hardest just to not let her family down, and even herself.
There were also times when Katsumi thought of quitting, but being the stubborn girl that she is, she persisted more. pushing herself to achieve her dreams on getting on stage and performing her heart out. when two of her trainee friends, momo and sana debuted as Twice members, Katsumi couldn’t help but feel sad even though she had to be happy for her friends. She decided to push herself even more just to prove that she is worthy of debuting and that the last 7 years of her life wasn’t wasted.
And the fruit of her decisions, JYP saw how hard she worked, so he decided to make her debut in ‘soulmates’.

Everyone knows that Mark is a quiet and the serious type of guy. But, they also know that he’s caring and nice towards the people who are younger than him (for example, Bambam and Yugyeom). He can be playful guy when he wants to be. but most of the time, he’s just has this chill and laidback personality that almost every thinks of as cool. He takes good care of the people around him, especially his friends and family.
Kat and Mark knew of each other since they were just trainees, but they were nothing but just mere acquaintances. They weren’t really friends with each other, in fact, they both feel awkward when they bump into each other or just walk pass each other in the hallways of JYP Entertainment. Maybe having almost the same personality gave them that awkward feeling towards each other, especially when Mark debuted in GOT7. Katsumi couldn’t help but admire him a little, even though she feels envious about it too.
Their first interaction was when Mark greeted her ‘good morning’, one day when she was practicing alone. From them on, they would just say ‘hi’ or ‘hello’ to each other whenever one see the other. To the both of them, that became like a silent agreement of friendship from each other. They started chatting with each other and even gave each other’s phone number. Some of Katsumi’s friends even began teasing her about Mark (because he was the only guy she notices), which she always denies. To Katsumi, love isn’t a great thing. Especially if you know that it wouldn’t happen.
