My MAMAMOO diary

November 20, 2015

Hi! It's my first time writing a blog about MAMAMOO that I'm kinda nervous and excited at the same time.

So, welcome! Welcome to my MAMAMOO diary, where I will talk some stuff about MAMAMOO and the individual members, review their songs, and basically, talk about MAMAMOO a lot.

Okay, so, let me just talk about how I discovered MAMAMOO.

I discovered MAMAMOO through a friend of mine. We were thinking of an intro for our dance, then she suggested the intro of MAMAMOO's Piano Man, so, being a kpop fan myself, I asked her what is MAMAMOO because I think their name is unique and such. She then told me that it's a rookie group that debuted in 2014. So, I was like, "Mm, okay. I'll listen to Piano Man later." so I did and after the song finished, I'm like, "It's cool, and great. I think I'll interest myself with MAMAMOO after our dance is over." but it was a month actually before the dance was done (it was a performance, a project in our school). Note that I only listened to the song and not watched the MV. I only listened once.

And so, being true to my words, I searched for Piano Man MV in youtube, and when I watched it, I was like, "WOAH.". It was the first time a ROOKIE group made my jaw drop. I never really listened to Rookie Groups before especially girl groups, but I at least know some of the trending rookie groups, but I didn't hear about MAMAMOO which I really regret.

Okay, so enough with that introduction, and since I started with Piano Man, I'll do my review of it. Now.

I was greeted with Gongchan when I hit the play button. Noticing the background, I admire the black and white theme of the video, but then, noticed that the phone booth was in red. And I thought to myself, "Ooooh, I think this is gonna be good."

And so, after that scene, I heard a familiar intro that went, "Are you ready for some action? Are you ready for perfection?". And I'm like, "Woah, this girl is so pretty (Hwasa)." I liked Hwasa without knowing her name at first because of her vocals at the intro. It was so on-point that I knew it's an unusual girl group.

After the y intro of Piano Man, I enjoyed the piano instrumental then took note of their names. After Hwasa, I took notice of Moonbyul. I really have a thing for girls with full bangs sooooo you can say Moonbyul became my bias. And so, the verse of Piano Man begins.

When Solar started singing the first verse, the first thing I realized was that Solar was the main vocal of MAMAMOO, and also, the leader. She has that vibe that kinda gave off her position in MAMAMOO (and then I quickly confirmed that I was right) and that, hmm, what do you call this...that feeling where you just had your soul purified. HAHAHA. Solar's voice gives me that feeling, and I like it.
