END OF YEAR MUSIC AWARDS AND THE NEED FOR A BETTER SYSTEM OF AFFAIRS.


It has come to my attention of specific matters that I have found, concerning some issues that I have with kpop music awards. I have thought the matter through and I have, in my opinion, have devised a solution to it. Here it is.
        The main problem with things as they are is the convoluted way of acknowledgements as it is. For one thing, the fan voting system is definitely construed/biased to larger fandom while lesser or smaller fandoms are usually made to 'dip out'. This is important because for in order for artists, any artistes, to grow in ability, one needs positive growth forward. Having awards every week does however create a dilemma, does it award great talent or does it award great personalities? In other words, does it award the talent that is promoted or does it allow established ones to maintain 'power' over newer and/or lesser established groups. By 'power' I mean the more well known kpop music groups that are of obvious renown. There are of course many others who work away as hard as the well known ones but do not get to have their moment of satisfaction of their talents. The ones that come from lesser agencies that do not have the budgets and/or rollodex phone book of numbers linking them to the important individuals that can promote their artists ahead of others.   

           This of course leads to my bigger issue, end of year award shows and their domination by the more well known names of entertainment. I have proposed a simple answer and solution to this. The answer lies in a completely different area. Sports. In particular, Australian Sports and the concept of BEST AND FAIREST.

BEST AND FAIREST.

What do I mean by BEST AND FAIREST? I mean that an award(s) should always be bestowed to those to highlight in all sense, THE TRUE SPIRIT OF THE GAME. By that I mean does the awardees demonstrated such talents as to promote a positive and true demonstrate of positive and, I dare say, inspiring, personification, of the game. But alas, we are not talking about games but rather, kpop entertainment and what does that have anything to do with sports, exactly?
            In every week in such sports codes like AFL, NRL and Cricket a small but mature group of judges award, every week, upon those who demonstrate the positive element of that week. With a 3-2-1 preferential voting system, three points for the most, 2 points for number 2 and 1 point for third placer. This of course is done in secret but not in seclusion. The judges should those of high and good character, modest, humble, mature and free of bias in other words able to make good and mature decisions. These votes are then locked up and then transported to a secure location for same keeping. No one except the individuals on that panel of the week knows who voted for whom. By the end of the year the, on the night in question, the seals are broken, the votes are tallied and the awardees bestowed.
            I am of course referring to the BROWNLOW MEDAL of the AFL, but the principal is the same. How is BEST AND FAIREST and why is matter? The BEST is easy to clarify/ It is the best of talent and true art displayed as such. The FAIREST part is THE MOST IMPORTANT. The FAIREST is the distinction of how much humanitarian, society or charity work that individual has done in the year. The charity work can be done in secret, ie, out of public knowledge, but it still would count. The individual simple registers their work beforehand. More charity equals higher amount of praise and distinction and thus a higher count.

ILLEGIBILITY

             Of course there is the detinction of what does remove one from this MEDAL OF THE YEAR? The answer, BEHAVIOUR. GOOD BEHAVIOUR. Any illecit behaviour to the end will make any potential awardee ELLEGIBLE for it. In other words, if you want it you have to demonstate a level of maturty of good conduct ALL YEAR LONG. No exceptions. If one gets a conviction, they are history. Consider your votes terminated and the preferential system will promote up the secong placer of that week in question to the lead.  If all three do become illegible, than that week is removed from the tallied votes at he end of the year. This will promote a much healthier and more mature behaviour for all concerned. Of course I might add a more positive roll model as well.

POTENTIAL AWARDEE(S)

              If this Award/Medal was bestowed this year, 2015, there in my mind was be only THREE potential Nominees, SNSDs Yoona and SNSDs Tiffany and Miss A's Suzy would have possessed the requirements of character and good judgement for bestowed of this Medal. All three are of the opinion of this author as the likely Awardees.

GROUP MEDAL.

              For Group awards this same system is used as for indivuals, every week voting is done for the best group. This group may not win every week as music showsbut demonstrated more charcter than that platform can commendate. Also the same illegibility rules ARE in place to make sure that that groups members behave at the required level of vertue befitting the commendation of BEST AND FAIREST, ie, best music performances and better social/humitarian work as well. In other words if you want it, BE GOOD.

SUMMING  UP

                In my opinion, this system of BEST AND FAIREST is of a fare superior model than the Daesang/Bonsang/ Awards as utilised in present Korean Music/Entertainment format. It makes it easier for bestowment, levels the playing field, removes the spamming of fandom voting AND I MIGHT ADD, COMMENRS EXCELLENT CHARACTER THAT IS REQUIRED of public arts/Entertainment persons.
