Join the Team!

2016 is just around the corner, which brings me to bear some very good news.

I would like to announce that Cracking the Pathcode will officially launch March 2016!

What is Cracking the Pathcode you ask? Why, it's the new EXO fanfic I've had up since May 2015! CTP will be of the scifi/action genre. It involves elements of EXO powers, hacking, parkour, weaponry, a corrupt government ruling over a society immersed in technology, politics, and all that cool stuff.

The reason why it's scheduled for March and not something earlier like January, February, or even now is because I am actually looking for someone to help out with CTP. CTP requires a lot of world building and other elements, so I felt that a bit of help would be necessary. I've created an application which is linked below, and you will find that it's more extensive than the usual application because I am hoping that the person who is selected will become a long-term addition to the team, i.e. working with us on future projects. But don't worry, there are guiding questions right beneath the actual ones, and I've supplied a sort of cheat sheet at the bottom of this page as well.

Who am I looking for?

  • Someone who is willing to help research and find info that will be helpful when writing CTP
  • Someone who I can pitch story ideas to and be given honest feedback
  • Someone who is willing to explore different genres
  • Someone who is willing to possibly step in as either a beta reader or writer (only if happypudding's or my own schedule becomes too hectic)
  • You will be required to have Kakaotalk and Evernote installed
  • Must be fluent in English

Benefits (if you really must):

  • You get to work with some super awesome people
  • You get to pick up some super awesome skills and learn a lot of rad stuff
  • Sometimes you get a sneak peek of chapters before they're released

Application Closed

Deadline: December 17th, 2015

Word of advice: Manage your time wisely. Schedule a time to fill out this app, i.e. don't procrastinate on your studies or something equally important. And don't stress too much over the application! I'm not a professional, and I don't expect you to be one either. (But please do look over your work at least twice to check for errors)

Note: Do not comment after you have submitted your application, pm me instead. Also, have me added as a friend so I can notify you if your application has been accepted. You should receive a message by the end of December, if not, that means your application wasn't accepted. If you have any questions, please pm me.

Cheat Sheet

First 5 questions.

The first 5 questions are general, basic questions that shouldn't require too much thought.

Your fanfic experiences.

Fun question. This is just me getting to know more about your likes and dislike pertaining to the fanfic scene. Again, nothing you should stress over. Just be yourself.

What will your schedule be like in 2016-2017? Be realistic.

And answer honestly please. I'm very understanding about how people have their own lives and tend to get busy around certain times of the year, so I would appreciate it if someone told me that they're part of a so-and-so club/sport or they have work on certain days. It's much more believable compared to someone telling me they can dedicate 100% of their time to this story, because I sure as heck don't have that much time. Or if it appears that you don't actually have a lot of time to spare, and for example, only log onto this site a few times a month, then I suggest you should focus on whatever it is that you're already doing instead.

Why should I pick you to be a part of the team?

Now this is an important question. I want to hear about why you personally would want to invest your time into working on CTP. What do you have to offer? Why does this interest you?

Will you be willing to step in as a writer/editor if the situation calls for it?

If you answer no, then that means you're done with the application and it's ready to submit. If you answer yes, then you have 3 more questions awaiting you.

Tell me about yourself as a writer.

Something interesting I'd like to know so I can get a feel for your background, how experienced you are, etc.

Link to an example of your work.

Optional.

Write about someone being chased.

It says here that the max is 500 words, but I recommend about 300-400. Be creative! Think outside the box! This is probably one of the hardest questions in the entire application, but it is also the one I look most forward to reading.

I don't know how much this will help but, since you're looking for help with world building there's this website http://donjon.bin.sh/world/ and you can basically generate random world maps. It might help you make a world for your story :-)
