WGM? Nah, must be a typo...

Because I think you mean "SJGM." Stands for "Super Junior Got Married."

First, a disclaimer: Up until last week, I’ve never, ever watched “We Got Married.” Then curiosity overcame me and I saw the first episode of the Goguma (also known as Yongseo) couple. Continuing that thought, then, I’ve never seen any complete episodes featuring the Dimples Couple (is that their official nickname?)/ TeukSo couple, so everything I say about them below is second-hand knowledge. /end disclaimer.

So let’s start from the very beginning: Of all the Suju members, why Leeteuk? Nothing against him, personally—in fact, I really admire him—but we all know he’s going to the army this year, right? Must be pretty common knowledge, given how he’s the leader of the Hallyu wave’s most popular and beloved (okay, biased ELF here) band. So why would the producers chose to invest in a couple that probably won’t even get the chance to celebrate their first anniversary?

But ratings have been good, so no further complaints there.

Then last week, it was revealed that four Suju members went on blind dates with four actresses, apparently to fulfill a promise they made with Kang Sora. Nothing wrong there, until—TWO OF THEM ARE JOINING AS NEW COUPLES? WHAT?

Turns out Hae and Min are now going to be part of the show, too!

(Skipping all the You’re-breaking-apart-Eunhae-and-Kyumin! rants)

This is because a bunch of couples, including Teuk-Sora, are leaving the show. (Seriously, who didn’t see the last part coming?) So now they’re just gonna replace everybody with Super Junior? I won’t go as far as to accuse the producers of using Suju’s popularity or anything, but… that’s two more members of a currently nine-active-member band who’s joining the show, where the average number of couples is like, four or five. You might as well change the title. (And yes, I am aware that Sungmin is joining the “Pit-A-Pat Shake,” but that’s just a spin-off of WGM)

Oh, but it doesn’t end there!

On the 15th, it was revealed that Kyuhyun flew to Shanghai to film a WGM Valentine’s Special/ New Year Special/ IDK something special (someone wanna clarify?) with a Chinese actress (Lou YiXiao). Um.

Kyuhyun, a Korean singer.

Lou YiXiao, a Chinese actress.

Getting together to film a WGM (우리 결혼했어요) Special, in Shanghai (上海).

I’d love to see which language they speak in.

(Okay fine I’m just secretly mad because I was totally gonna write a WGM fic ft. Kyuhyun and some random OC after I finish my current plots, but the producers have essentially beaten me to that)

Am I missing something here? Why Kyuhyun, why a Valentine’s Special, why in Shanghai, and why with a Chinese actress? Or taking a step back, WHY SUPER JUNIOR? Isn’t this supposed to be a reality show that pairs random famous idols with each other so the whole fandom can spazz about what a cute couple they are or how much chemistry they have or whatever? Why does it feel like every single active member is somehow slowly becoming affiliated with the show…

Granted, I realize that I sound like an obsessive fangirl and my annoyance is pretty groundless. I should probably feel happy, since this ultimately only brings more recognition to Suju’s name. Or proud, given how the producers clearly chose them above all the other idol candidates. But I liked seeing them single, okay? T_____T Pretty sure I’m not alone there.

@boredbluejay Min is gonna be "dating" her >_>. (That err may or may not be just as equally bad.) But either way...

For once, I'm on the side of all those kyumin shippers. LOL. Go figure.

@chasethestars, ohh, that would solve the language barrier, then. Secretly, I had been hoping they'd communicate in Mandarin, because his broken Mandarin (punctuated with all of those idioms that no one outside of China/Taiwan/ other Mandarin speaking countries would recognize) is really cute XD. But still, to me, SingleKyu > MarriedKyu T________T

I am confused with WGM's tactics regarding Kyuhyun. I understand his participation in the blind date because Kang Sora promised this to Fighting Junior. So this is either a Lunar New Year Special or a Valentine Special; Pit-a-Pat Shake is not far off the mark, but there's just too much speculation going on so maybe it'd be best if we just wait and see for further announcements.

I was told Lou Yixian knows how to speak Korean so no language barrier problem with these two XD As much as I like listening to Kyuhyun speak the language, there's only so much I can take with broken Mandarin ^^;;
