having a relationship and yet, it's all she thinks about. from spazzing over somebody mentioning verbal jint in a
conversation to wondering how good a guy she's just met is at kissing. it isn't a question why boys are just naturally drawn to her, really. a popular foreigner with golden locks and mesmerizing eyes — and that seeming angelic smile
that could actually get you into a lot of trouble. but something that isn't visible to the eye is her strong front, but
hopeful and shy heart. and yet, she has to humbly reject any form of confession thrown her way. and that's
because of her family and their social status. her whole life it's been 'study now, fun later' only to lead to her
parents' decision for her arranged marriage when she reaches the age of twenty. haeli decided to rebel. accepting
confessions and dating off and on in secret, trying to find the perfect guy that her parents would approve of. after
all the chaos of trying and always failing, haeli gave up, becoming hopeless and desperate. she had thoughts about
just talking things out with her parents, but she wouldn't get her way. her mind cleared the next year, just enjoying
being fifteen. but what is she supposed to do when her crush rejects her first ever confession and she's willing to
even make him jealous? or when she needs another person to stay with her for awhile so she doesn't have to leave korea? well thanks to her best friend, that won't be a problem anymore.

YOU AND ME, LET'S CHANGE UP THIS SCENE. haeli is a four dimensional social butterfly that wants live life to the fullest. and yet, her parents control almost every aspect of her life, which is why she's so rebellious. she's your fun and laid back friend even though she's stressed about everything like her parents' expectations, classes ( even though she doing average in them ), and her future. and yet she seems to pull that all aside and decide to live in the moment and just have fun. she's pretty chill while at the same time has absolutely no chill whatsoever. if you spill a glass of room temperature water on her, she'll just wave her hand with a short 'hey, it's cool. don't worry about it.' because frankly, she's too lazy to care about that. you can hang out with her and basically do nothing except watch netlix and eat some chips, you don't even have to move. she is just that friend that you always need. you need to vent about your stupid crush, you need to prove a game theory, you need fashion advice, or you just want somebody to hold you while you cry, haeli will be there. she's loyal although irresponsible. she knows that whatever she did for you, you'd do the same. she thinks highly of herself and finds herself relatable. seriously, she could start a sentence with 'you know those moments when' or 'don't you hate it when' and after she says whatever needs to be said you will definitely say 'oh my god, yes, i thought i was the only one.' — and out of nowhere — friendship ensues. that's another thing, haeli is friendly, maybe a little too friendly [ i'm warning all the boys here ] since if you isolate yourself from most people, she'll try with all her might to be friends with you. haeli is persistent, but not to the point of annoyance. she's sharp, meaning she's sarcastic. and she isn't smart, she's street smart. clever, if you will. somebody could say something negative to or about her and she'll snicker and say 'that's not what your mom said last night' and laugh at her own lame joke, that you secretly will think is hilarious. finally, haeli is the life of the party. no — she is the party. she attends all types of parties. you know it won't be a fun party if haeli isn't there. she'll sneak out and do anything she can to just have fun with her friends. all in all, haeli is a free and friendly spirit that you'd want as a friend. although cocky and sarcastic, she is funny and vibrant, and she just wants to live life.
UNNI! ATTENTION PLEASE. while having her positive traits, haeli has her neutrals as well. haeli is boyish, the type to get really intense while playing a videogame. the type to walk around like a guy using a deep voice and nodding at her friends like 'wassup baby?' — and trust me, even if she's a girl, she'll still swoon them. speaking of swooning, she is an indefinite flirt, but doesn't enjoy it as much as she seems. she
RAISE THE TENSION A BIT MORE. but after all this praise and good things said about haeli, welcome to the heartbreak. haeli is always making [ if not getting into ] trouble. she is both the over-protective mother of her group of friends as well as the crazy child that always needs to be looked after. she's always the one to call you at two in the morning and say 'hey, i just snuck out, wanna' go to a club are something?' — and yes, she knows she underaged but she has angles. she's the one in a party to be daring people that absolutely hate each other to kiss, that's just who she is. she is blunt and forward, vulgar nonetheless. for example she once claimed to a sunbae that he was doing something wrong and she wasn't going to stand for it, and when he told her that he was older so she should respect him, so she pushed him and starting cursing like a truck driver. being brutally honest is what she's good at, there's just no way that she can't give you a negative opinion if it's the truth; 'do i look fat in this, haeli?' 'yeah.' '...'. like previously said, haeli is boyish. and what do most people associate with boys? how immature they are. haeli doesn't believe people who don't find the occasional fart followed by laughter or the saying of 'ha.. you said duty.' funny. it's annoying and makes you want to strangle her. she's a erted one. and it's not erted as in she spies on people getting undressed or something ridiculous like that, it's just weird and random. let's say she's talking to a guy friend and all of a sudden she slaps his thigh and says something like 'damn you must be doing squats' which will send him into laughter. or she will just occassionally graze her girl friend's - just a little bit. she doesn't know why she enjoys touching butts, her hand just goes where it goes [ straight quote from bae joohyun before touching seulgi's ]. haeli is just too fast with her actions, she doesn't think before doing, it's all or nothing for her. you can't just tell when she's about to do something risky or insane as she always does, she's a step ahead of you. and lastly, haeli is kinda' slow. yes you'd think that every blonde would be slow, but haeli is orginally a brunette. she sometimes will only get the joke two hours later and will have those moments of 'ohhhhhhhhhhh' for something completely obvious.
A NEW WORLD YOU'VE MET COULD BE CRUEL.
( lived in toronto, canada from 2000 to 2012. )
haeli was born two days before her mother's birthday on october 16th, 2000. she was born into a life of luxury as her mother and father were very wealthy. her father inherited his father's mobile company and her mother was a wedding dress designer, and had many people working for her. haeli grew up in toronto, canada, alongside her older sister haeryung. haeli doesn't know much about why the family was located in canada at the time but she didn't mind about it. haeli started out as a really shy kid during elementary school. it's not that she didn't want to make friends, she just guesses that she was an outcast. but she never put herself out there either, so she blames herself for that. she grew a liking for the things most girls didn't like, sports and computer games. sometimes she would look at the other girls talking about makeup tips and how to take care of hair, but she wasn't interested. but in grade six, she got noticed, but not for good reasons. she got bullied by the 'cool girls' of her class, she guesses it was because she didn't wear makeup, had no friends, wore glasses, but instead it was something worse. because she was different, and when i say different, i mean asian. another thing, she was chubby to say the least. so many harsh racial slurs were thrown at her and yet she was silent for the whole year, then came the last day of school before she moved away. she marched right up to those girls, her heart in hand and tears in her eyes, and told them that being different is something she was going to live by from then on. that night, haeli's family moved back to korea, their country of orgin. haeli wasn't exactly devastated that she had to leave her life in canada behind — she had no life. she could only go to school and come home, she wasn't allowed to anywhere, she wasn't allowed to talk to boys — haeli realized that there was more to life then good grades and skill - she realized that she would never live a boring life. it was time to make a change.
YOU KNOW YOU WERE BORN TO FLY, EVERYBODY'S GONNA SEE IT SOON.
( lives in seoul, south korea since 2010 to now. )
haeli's family moved back to their orginal whereabouts due to the expansion of her father's bussiness failing. even though haeli lived wealthily in canada, it got a whole lot better in korea. they moved into the penthouse that used to belong to her grandfather and after she finished middle school, haeli transferred to none other than the well known seoul arts high school, otherwise known as sopa, and was ultimately given the chance to start fresh. during her middle school years, she realized that she was too shy. she wasn't confident like the others. she couldn't just simply break out of her shell out of nowhere, but things slowly changed. she got a little taller and her skin was becoming pale, which was apparently a good thing in korea, and she started to update her clothing. her diet plans were getting better and the weight seemed to be dropping significantly. she met her best friend choi junhong, another guy who wasn't considered popular. he didn't prefer sports and liked to think that life was just a theory, he was odd, and haeli liked that. a pinky promise and an awkward smile later, they were inseperable. the rest of the year went on like this until summer came along, and they met once and awhile, but thankfully the final year before high school came around quickly. they were still bestfriends, but haeli could tell something was off. she openly asked him, he replied with pink cheeks. 'i like you haeli. but i know you don't like me, and that's okay.' haeli's heart raced and she was almost on the verge of crying. guys in canada didn't like girls like her, but knowing that one guy liked her, it made her happy. for lots of people this would be normal, but haeli felt differently. 'i like you. i like you so much.' haeli said before hugging him tight. haeli wasn't going to live boringly. this was just a sign of it.
haeli's 14th birthday came along, and she bravely went to her mother about her crisis. 'mom, you said i should think for myself, right?' 'that's right, dear.' 'then...i decided to date someone recently... i also wanted to know if i could get contacts and... dye my hair?' 'what? haeli, you're dating? i forbidded you from dating, and contacts? dye your hair? where did you get all these stupid ideas from?' '...well, i'm not listening to you anymore!' haeli bursted. 'my life is boring and i have no friends! i don't want to be like you, mom! don't you have regrets? don't you wish that you were like everyone else?' haeli raised her voice and stood up. she walked away, locking herself in her room. she went to her mirror and took of her glasses, taking her ponytail out and letting her brown hair fall around her. it wasn't going to be easy but, she was in charge of herself now. over the next week haeli completely changed her style with the help of haeryung, ditched the glasses and got contacts with the help of her dad, but she was still contemplating on whether to really dye her hair or not. an eight grader that needed to stand out, but how? she stood out in canada because of her current looks, so why not stand out here because she looked like the girls in canada? blonde, that was it. two weeks later, she commited and dyed her hair blonde. instead of looking completely horrible and weird, it was mesmerizing. it was probably the most drastic event that occured in her life. she looked like a different person. the next time junhong saw her he questioned if haeli had become haughty and snobby, like the other girls at their school, but haeli was the same person. 'i'm becoming myself. independence, you know? but i'm still me, i'm still in - uhm - love with you.' haeli smiled. 'i was the only asian kid in my old classes... i was fat too.' 'really?' 'yeah... so girls bullied me and i changed. i didn't want to go through that again.' 'so that's why you changed your looks?' 'yeah, but next is the way i think. i need to be strong, not the weak person i used to be.' 'well you have me, remember that.'
haeli's rebellion against her parents progressed as she found her true self and it ended up not too well in her case. the first time she snuck junhong into her room and her mom caught her, haeli just stared at her with a sneer before turning back to junhong and continuing to talk. haeli got into loads of trouble when they found out that junhong was her boyfriend and haeli cried herself to sleep when nobody was watching. their relationship eventually ended because of her parents catching her again later in the year, but they had already gotten far enough for haeli to have her first kiss, and maybe second...and eighth. haeli's mother was so upset that she declared that haeli would have an arranged marriage with a man from canada of the same social status. haeli was even more upset, and she just decided to channel out all of her problems and focus on the good things in life. junhong was still her best friend, but was upset that they had to be separated. the feeling was mutual to haeli. but they carried on as usual, and then highschool came along. haeli transferred to seoul arts high school, junhong went over to jeondo high school. i mean their schools were just a block away but haeli was nervous. junhong was all haeli ever had and to go to a different school along was scary. and yet, haeli took a step into her new school the following year and caught everyone's attention. she met three girls; moon sua, kim saeron, and fernanda ly. they instantly became a group of friends and the three were haeli's guide through high school. even though they were already well known throughout the school, their popularity boosted even more by welcoming the new blonde girl into their circle. that's how jeon jungkook found out about her. and let's just say that for haeli, seeing jungkook was crush at first sight. junhong and haeli still hung out of course, they would never stop, but they both moved on from each other and settled at their new school's. haeli began to open up her heart to others, and every morning her locker began stacking up on love confession notes. haeli began to sneak out a lot and not tell anyone but haeryung and takuya where she was going. she would date guys and introduce them to the family, trying to get her mom to change her mind about the arranged marriage. her mother's heart softned because she knew that haeli was just trying to live her own life. with a nod, she decided to let haeli be for now.

YOUNGEST IN THE HOUSE. THAT MEANS I'M SPOILED.
( life at home. )
CAN I JUST SAY THAT HIGH SCHOOL IS NOTHING LIKE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.
at school haeli is popular and is always busy, and she doesn't mind that. she's apart of the a-team, consisting of her and her bestfriends moon sua, kim saeron, and fernanda ly. they are in the class of 4c, the most hectic and crazy class of seoul arts high school. haeli often curses and does entertaining things at school and is calm at home. other than the a-team haeli is friends with jeon jungkook, a football player that introduced her to the team. haeli's locker is always filled with love notes and candies/chocolate, making her heart secretly flutter and her ego not-so-secretly boost higher. haeli sits at the back of her classes with the a-team and they usually do anything but pay attention. haeli will never not talk about male idol groups and their stats on m-net and such. in her class of 28 people she is placed 18th, so she isn't the best but she could be worse. she is 'accidentally' late for classes that she hates and early for the ones she loves, but depending on her mood, that information varies. she doesn't absorb information too quickly, so notes are always the way to go. she doesn't expect her grades to go up any time soon, but since jungkook is smart

im hanbin, haeli's goofy, always busy father. the man that haeli's friends have never seen, but if they were to see him, their reaction would go something along the lines of 'oh! i didn't know you had an older brother.' without a doubt. hanbin looks younger than he really is, you could even mistake him for a college student. he is very warm towards haeli at times, but also very stern. a love/tough-love relationship. he's basically chaeryung's wife instead of the other way around. he tries to be a strict as haeli's mother because, well, she tells him to, but while he tries he simply just can't cherise and baby his little princess. he's the one who spoils her and will buy her anything she wishes. but at the same time he is like a general, he just always has to say something. he asks haeli the most obvious and stupid questions but it's all just for her safety, and without knowing it, he can be pretty hilarious. something along the lines of 'hey daddy, i'm going to school.' 'make sure you where a ' 'what?' haeli says, on the verge of heavy laughter and tears because of that laughter. even though hanbin is away on work almost 24/7, haeli grew up favouriting him because when haeli's mother stressed her about eating healthy, he'd be the one to take her out to have ice cream. haeli's is definitely a 'daddy's girl'.
HAELI : ARE YOU DONE WORK ALREADY??
DADDY : ^^
HAELI : YES PLEASE! LOVE YOU!

yoo chaeryung, none other than the woman who gave haeli life. she's so beautiful that if she were to walk down a street, people would stop and stare. haeli and haeryung get that beauty from chaeryung. but everything else seemed to skip both generations. chaeryung is sensible, always thinks ahead, strict, always worried. she wasn't raised in a wealthy environment, she had to work hard for what she has. she simply wanted to raise her children as her parents raised her. she wants haeli to be the free spirit that she is, but she wants haeli to wake up and realize that her life that she's living isn't one that she'll live forever. when the family lived in canada, haeli could not go anywhere with anyone. she could go to school, come back home, study and learn some korean, pratice her guitar, and go to sleep. she wasn't allowed to stay up late, she wasn't allowed to talk to boys, and she was only allowed to talk with her friends at school. but everything seemed to change after haeli lost the weight and turned 14. she began to go against her mother's word. she started to demand things, and she no longer cared about what her mother could say or do. she decided it was her life and she was going to live it the way she wants. chaeryung became so angry that she decided when haeli reached the age of 20, she would marry the man that she would want haeli to marry. but so far, haeli has been introducing her to guys, trying to get her to change her mind. chaeryung saw how desperate haeli was to just be accepted by her, so she calmed down. right now, they are just mother and daughter. they act like how a mother and daughter should act - that is - before she's introduced to chan. after that, chaeryung felt proud of haeli, and put a lot of trust in her.
HAILEY : WE'RE GONNA STUDY JAPANESE TOGETHER

im haeryung, haeli's older sister with a fiesty heart and a quirky personality. haeli was born two years after haeryung, but instead of jealousy, haeryung was filled with joy. unlike a lot of people, she hoped for a sibling. but instead, she got haeli. sure, haeli wasn't exactly what she had wished for, but haeryung loves her nonetheless. while being protective of haeli, she is also careless. she tells her to not do dumb stuff, and yet lets her sneak off to parties. she tells her that boys are trouble, and yet has kept one or two of her ex-boyfriends under-wrap. to haeli, haeryung is the most loving one in her family. due to her father being away most of the time and her mother being terribly strict and having too many expectations, haeryung spared haeli, because she was raised by the exact same people. they are almost the same person, with a few acceptions of course. they are a couple of pranksters, and if they aren't causing mischief separately, they're doing it together. as for the takuya situation, haeryung is in on it. she gave haeli the okay to act the way she does to takuya because of his reactions — she just makes sure that haeli doesn't go overboard. as for haeli's 'boyfriend' — she knew ahead of time. it was when haeryung needed to borrow haeli's laptop the night haeli found boybehired.co.kr. haeli was already asleep, so haeryung just brought it to her room. when she opened up the laptop, there was the website. after exploring the website in wonder and confusion for a good hour or so, haeryung only smirked and let it be. haeryung will let haeli know that she knows when the time is right.

terada takuya, the forbidden territory of haeli's household. he's four years older, an adult, and is her older sister's boyfriend. when haeryung first brought him home to introduce to the family, haeli was at a loss for words. immediately a yandere part of her activated and before she knew it she was stalking him, ing on him and haeryung if they were even just talking. haeli, not being stupid and knowing she had no chance with him, decided to have some fun with this. she flirts with him [ very badly ] and tries to get him to take her places, even though the answer is always no. haeli is also constantly comparing haeryung to herself. she doesn't know why she does this, it just seems fun. but she thinks it has something to do with being around saeron too long. takuya sees haeli as a free spirit who isn't afraid of anything, which he admires because he considered himself to be like that when he was her age. although because haeli is so strange towards him it seems like he could care less about her, he watches over her from afar. he's subtle. maybe a simple 'have you eaten yet, haeli-ssi?' ever now and then. takuya isn't aware of anything about haeli's 'boyfriend' - but when haeli brings him home to introduce to the family, much like haeryung did with him - maybe he'll suddenly fell protective over haeli. just a bit.
TAKUYA : UHMM... HAERYUNG? IS THIS YOU?
UNKNOWN NUMBER : NO I'M THE HOT ONE, IDIOT.
TAKUYA : JEEZ HAELI
TAKUYA : "HOT ONE" PLS
TAKUYA : I THINK YOU MEAN THE ILLEGAL ONE.

jeon jungkook, a senior of seoul arts high school that became friends with haeli after his friends began to talk about her when she showed up to their football game. he approached her, that handsome smile making haeli's heart stop. it was crush at first sight but do you know where haeli got thrown into? the friend zone. that's right. they've been the best of friends since haeli's first day. they've been everywhere together, told everything to each other, jungkook has even paraded haeli on his back down the halls of their schools on her birthday. they were inseparable. it was a no-brainer on why haeli grew feelings for him over time. whenever haeli stared longingly into his eyes, he'd get distracted and would look away. or whenever haeli held his hand, he'd pull it away and link arms instead. three years later and haeli just recently decided to confess to him. he was the first boy that she's ever confessed to instead of the other way around, and sadly, she got rejected. jungkook's reasoning was because he liked girls his age and older, which pissed haeli off to no end, and now things between them are pretty tense. why? because after getting rejected, haeli snapped at him and claimed she had a boyfriend already who was a thousand times better than jungkook. jungkook was confused and curious, so he asked his name, to which he got no reply. after a few days, jungkook firgured that haeli just lied. oh boy is he gonna be surprised when he sees haeli and her new 'boyfriend' walking to school together, hand in hand. well before haeli wins his heart, she hopes it gives him a damn heart attack.

"I LOVE YOU, CHERRY TOMATO." "WE BROKE UP, BUT YOU STILL LOVE ME?" "OF COURSE."
choi junhong, haeli's first love and first boyfriend. they met in middle school and began dating in middle school. they were all each other had back then since they were both outcasts that didn't fit in because of their interests, which naturally made them friends. when haeli first went through her stage of rebellion, she brought junhong home and no, it did not end well. her parents ordered from them to stop dating at that time but they disobeyed and kept dating. they were caught again later in the year and they had to permanently seperate. if breaking up wasn't bad enough, they were seperated again when they went to different high schools. they are best friends to this day, since their friendship was stronger than any love they could have had. netflix and chill, paintball, laser tag, they just could do anything and everything together. they are mainly cuddle buddies and they usually have conversations at crazy hours in the morning, or will even skype each other until they fall asleep. now, what did junhong think of haeli's 'boyfriend'? he absolutely hated him and was completely jealous — but here's the thing — it's his best friend. when haeli told him about chan he pointed out that he goes to the same school as him and how good of friends they are. luckily junhong is chasing after a girl already because if he was still hooked on haeli, this would've been a big issue.

before she knew it, the first day of freshman year came around. haeli was a loner for three years. but on her first day of high school, that all seemed to change. haeli was deemed popular out of nowhere despite being alone for a big majority of time. she met three girls that sat beside her in her homeroom; sooah, saeron, and fernanda. sooah was very forward and introduced the other two girls to haeli, so the three of them have been friends for awhile. they all became close friends and were known throughout the school as 'the a team' - don't ask. moon sua, a rapper at heart who is afraid to tell her parents. she plays the violin beautifully and has a cheerful personality. sua will rarely come to haeli's house and vice versa and within the group, sua is the most distant with haeli. but no doubt they hang out during free period and have a video game showdown, or if either of them are bored they'll go for a ride on their skateboards. sua thinks that haeli hiring a boyfriend was very smart, unlike fernanda. she always teases after haeli whenever she brings up her 'boyfriend' which makes haeli want to strangle her. kim saeron, a pure angel that everybody loves that is just too precious for words. or so you'd think. saeron is actually an immature prankster that thinks annoying the living crap out of boys will get their attention. she is given multiple life lessons everyday by haeli because she is so clueless about everything and just wishes to be mature like her friends. saeron is basically haeli's daughter and during lunch or during sleepovers, haeli will brush her hair and braid it, telling her secrets and trusting her with everything. saeron's thoughts on haeli's 'boyfriend' is — well — saeron thinks they're actually a couple. even after she was told that haeli hired her boyfriend, saeron still didn't get it. as for fernanda ly, the most beautiful and stylish woman who has ever lived, you could say that out of the group she is closest with haeli. fernanda is chinese-american, meaning the two converse in english a majority of the time, since fernanda is struggling in learning korean quickly. other than hanbit, fernanda is haeli's closest friend. she comes over to study, netflix and chill, talk about how stupid jungkook is, stalk takuya, you name it. fernanda is basically a smart and a feminist who doesn't have time for a boyfriend because she's focusing on her online store and soon-to-be fashion label. she always tells haeli to be confident and that guys are just a waist of time, but haeli doesn't listen. as for fernanda's thought's about haeli's 'boyfriend' ... let's just say that haeli got a slap in the face the next time fernanda saw her.
HAE!BAE : HE TOLD ME TO SHOW HIM A PICTURE AND EVERYHTING

SAERON-WEASLY : DOES HE HAVE A BIG
SAERON-WEASLY : Y'KNOW

LY FERNANDA : AND FRANKLY, YOU SHOULDN'T BE TALKING ABOUT GUYS AND THEIR
LY FERNANDA : "YOU KNOWS"
SAERON-WEASLY : I WAS GONNA SAY HEART!
SUA_HOORAH : JFC THIS F***ING GIRL MAN
since haeli's parents control everything down to the people she hangs out with, i give you the study bug, oh hanbit.
a gorgeous woman 4 years older than haeli, but sometimes tends to act the same age as haeli on occasion ( well at
least she thinks so. ) the two first met when haeli was the age of six, and hanbit was the age of 10, and this was
due to their parents' friendship with one another. oh wealthy people and their social circles. haeli was forced to have
multiple meet ups and playdates with hanbit because they would be the only children there at their parents' social
gatherings. the years went by and ten years later, both still have a so-called friendship that feels like sisterhood.
hanbit is often scolding her for haeli's idiotic pestering of dumping her books anywhere and everywhere else but in
her hands, brush her hair and slap some makeup on her, and telling her to be more confident and that she's beautiful.
as for hanbit's thoughts on haeli's 'boyfriend'? she was the first to know. and haeli knew she couldn't say anything,
why? because she got the website from her. haeli's pretty sure she hired a 'boyfriend' as well. oh, hanbit.
( and something that would surprise anyone would be that haeli envies hanbit's body. her body is healty, pretty, and
voluptuous. haeli needs to be reminded time and time again that the beauty standard in korea in different from home. )

HOLD ON GIRL, DON'T EVER FALL FOR SOMEONE ELSE. lee chan is the most bubbly and happy teenager you've ever laid eyes on — how do i know? i don't, he just seems like it. he's so youthful, the type to see you fall asleep at 2 in the god damn morning and he'd yell in your ear to wake you up 'YOU FALL ASLEEP REALLY EARLY.' and annoy you while making you feel looked after. he's super sweet and lowkey smooth with the ladies, and by ladies i mean noonas because he has so many angles. you'd think he's like a cute little brother while he holds your hand and tells you to watch your step but you didn't even notice that his hand let go of yours and s around your waist and him telling you to watch your step turned into him saying that just so you can be closer to him. he'll take care of you and he wants your attention, so he goes out of his ay to be a gentlemen. at school he is quite known and achieved the title of 'flower boy' since he is just that adorable and the ladies just love him. chan although sweet, is posessive. he doesn't like taking his eyes off of you and wants to claim to the world that you're his and only his. he's insecure, which is probably why he wants to be the man of the relationship for a change, since older girls treating him like a kid make his confidence go down tenfold. but just remember that if he's your boyfriend, he'll cherise you as that smile on his face makes you smile just as much, if not harder.
love story •
it was when haeli was hanging out at hanbit's, the day hanbit ed up and told some girls at school that she had a boyfriend. at the time haeli taunted her and told her that she shouldn't of lied. haeli was hanging upside down on hanbit's bed, playing on her phone, while hanbit was supposedly researching for a class subject. but hanbit looked a little too interested in her topic so haeli, being the wondrous person she is, just took a peek. 'hey hanbit, what're ya-' 'nOTHING OH MY GOD HAELI YOU'RE SO OBNOXIOUS STOP BEING NOSY AND GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.' so after taking her words literally, she left through the window and climbed down the tree, and walked back to her house. haeli's curiousity got the best of her and she ended up spending a good three hours searching for the website hanbit was on. 'boysbe' was all she remembered of it. but she ended up finding it. how did she know? the same handsome face was plastered on the homepage that hanbit was looking at. haeli had gawked at every guy on the website. pleased with what she had discovered, she bookmarked it, as she would probably get bored in the summer, but she really had no idea that it was a boyfriend for hire site.
WILL I MAKE A MISTAKE? IT'S ON MY MIND SINCE I'M A FOREIGNER. a few days later, maybe four, haeli recieved an email in regards to her first meeting with her hired boyfriend. haeli had thoughts of ' this is really happening' but she slapped herself and took some deep breaths. the two later on met in apgujeong even though it took haeli awhile to travel there. seeing his picture on his profile, he looked absolutely perfect, but in real life? haeli could have sworn that her eyes rolled to the back of her head and her knees went weak. she wobbled over to him; 'lee chan?' 'im haeli?' haeli awkwardly smiled at him and held out her hand. 'that's me.' chan smiled and held her hand — that she only wanted him to shake — and pulled her close. 'i can hold your hand right?' 'uh yeah i guess s-' 'how old are you?' 'uhm- sixteen, but-' 'really? when's your birthday?' 'uhm it was on october sixteenth-' 'so you're younger than me?' 'uhh i guess, but hey-' chan seemed way too excited but she gave him a look. 'what, do you want me to call you oppa?' 'is that a problem, haeli-ssi?' 'i guess not- and drop the honorifics.' 'ah, sure.' he smiled. 'so i- i'm new to this.' 'don't be nervous. i'm your boyfriend, remember?' haeli sneered at him in silence before bursting out into laughter. it's just too funny to be living the life of a heroine in a drama. nah.
HTF DID IT GET WORSE- WHY IS THIS HAPPENING when i say chan is a surprise in a cardboard box, i mean it. he was so calm and sweet when they first met, but then haeli
after those words, haeli's bedroom door opened and the two looked over in fear to be faced with haeryung's confused expression. 'mom said dinners ready- nah forget that- who's this?' she pointed at chan. haeli didn't expect to get caught yet, they had only just started. she worried, looking at chan who got off of her bed and smiled at her sister. 'i'm lee chan, i'm haeli's boyfriend.' he smiled with his eyes. 'haeli, what happened to jungkook?' haeryung questioned but was greeted with chan holding his hand out for her to shake and she did. 'haeli, does mom know about him?' haeryung asks in english to throw chan off but chan replies in english, looking over at haeli. 'should i meet your mom?' 'uh- you speak english?' 'haeli you never asked your boyfriend if he speaks english?' 'shut up haeryung!' chan did end up meeting her parents, and after a lot of explaining and persuading, haeli's mother agreed to let him stay for dinner. haeli whispered to him 'my mom's a hardass. she's going to ask you questions, can you handle?' 'i think so, i'll give you a signal if i'm in trouble.' 'okay... hwaiting!' haeli's mother obviously started interogating chan, who was taken aback immediately. 'what's your full name? how old are you? what school do you go to? what do your parents do? what are you thinking about doing after you graduate?' but haeli's father interrupted. 'where did you and haeli meet? what are your intentions? why were you in her room?' chan — oddly — expressed that he was very much in love with haeli and that they met after school when the two ran into each other and he helped haeli pick up her papers she had dropped. haeli agreed and added on to the
UHM HEY SO - DO YOU WANNA LIVE WITH ME? haeli arranged for her and chan to meet the next monday since one of haeli's rules were he is to walk her to school everyday. he was at her house at 7:47, two minutes later than haeli had expected but she didn't bother and pulled him along as they walked. 'what school do you go to?' 's.o.p.a.' 'woah. do you sing?' 'nope, play the guitar. i wish i could sing.' 'but don't we all?' 'what school do you go to?' 'jeondo high school — so it's like a block away.' that was the school that junhong went to, and haeli's eyes widened. 'my best friend goes there. well, technically my ex boyfriend but...whatever.' 'what's his name?' 'choi junhong.' 'oh! he's really cool, i'm friends with him.' '....' 'so, should i come see you during lunch?' 'would you?' 'yeah, we have to make that guy jealous right?' 'mm, we do.' haeli spoke not so confidently. 'uhm...channie?' 'ne?' 'you were told that i hired you for a bit longer right?' 'oh yeah, what was that about?' 'my parents are leaving next month and... i needed someone to stay with me so—' 'so i'm going to be staying with haeli-ssi? i mean, haeli?' 'mm, is that okay? you can start on november second?' 'sure, you're my girlfriend, i'd do anything for you.' haeli blushed when he said his last sentence. she still wasn't sure that this was the best thing to do, but maybe if her mom drops the arranged marriage entirely then haeli could still date jungkook after and get away with it — but jungkook has to like her first. damn it haeli, stop getting ahead of yourself.
FROM NOW ON LOOK AT ME, MY LADY. the word about a guy and a girl living together gets around quickly. suddenly everyone on campus knew that haeli and her knew boyfriend were living together and their imaginations went wild as to what might happen and what may have already happened. jungkook was most definitely not okay with this. why? because yes, he did like haeli, he liked her so much, but the reason he made up an excuse is because he knew that she was very emotinally delicate and he was worry that he might do something wrong and end up breaking her heart. but hearing this just made his blood boil because he didn't want anyone even laying a hand on haeli. he marched up to her and took her hand, pulling her aside. 'so — are you having fun with your boyfriend?' 'jungkook wtf—' 'so much fun that now he's living with you?' 'why would you care?' 'because you liked me first.' 'what the hell? you don't even like me so what's your problem?' and jungkook had no answer. haeli walked away, swallowing the lump down to stop her from possibly crying. she hated to be so emotional but he still didn't seem to like her. she called chan and he answered with that same sweet voice, and haeli felt at ease. do i... like chan?
NOTHING HAS CHANGED. the 30th came and haeli woke up in chan's embrace, her head on his chest. she inhaled his scent and smiled to herself, images from their kiss running throug her head. she had shared the news with hanbit and she had about it and they shared some squeals. you'd think that everything was all rainbows and sunshine between haeli and chan but no, there's still a catch. they kissed, they confessed, but nothing changed. they just went back to living together as usual and walking to school as usual — all that was different is that jungkook was still waiting for haeli's answer even though her choice was obvious as she kept bringing chan to school with her. and the thing is...time was up and neither of them asked the other to be their boyfriend/girlfriend. haeli's parents would be home by tomorrow morning, so haeli had to act fast. she hugged chan from behind and confessed to him again, her shy heart fluttering uncontrollably.
AND THE ENDING - IS IT GOOD? [ i know the ending was pretty vague but haeli's parents came home and chan moved out, but her parents don't say anything about the arranged marriage. why? because i'm leaving that up to you! and haeli's exact answer to jungkook and when she's going to say it? that's up to you too! oh god i'm a terrible person. ]
and a total of 18 ex-clients. all of them are older than him, meaning that haeli was the first client of his to be younger
than him, so when haeli explained that she was younger, he tried not to burst with excitement.
— LIVING WELL? ; chan not only works in the bbh organization to prove that he can be boyfriend material but also
because the job pays well and he wants to support his parents even thought they don't need support. chan and his
family are middle class.
— WELL DAMN ; when chan and haeli started 'dating' he was interogated by everyone including the a-team, her
parents, takuya [ well he just kinda' gave chan dirty looks ], and junhong.
— SKINSHIP 101 ; but seriously there isn't a point where chan isn't touching haeli because skinship is something
that he's almost addicted to- no seriously it seems really unhealthy and yet haeli is the way, but if the other initiates
the skinship first, the other will begin to blush.
— GENDER ROLES AREN'T A THING ; without a doubt haeli is more of the 'man' in the relationship, but that fact
is flexible. sometimes she'll refer to chan as her 'wife' or the other way around. either way, they are just as
possessive and caring of each other.
