'Describe your comfort zone—a “typical you” fic.

Sci-fi, definitely sci-fi/supernatural.  Perhaps it’s because I was a Star Wars kid, but I’m so comfortable with the genre it’s like a second skin for me.

Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I’ve done so many… I really don’t think there’s anything I haven’t at least tried.

Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole?

Uh… stories about magical unicorns? Is that a thing? If so, I don’t wanna do it… YOU CAN’T MAKE ME DO IT

How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

Probably over 9000… but there’s one about a gladiator-like planet for Superpowered aliens that I really like.

Share one of your strengths.

Hmmm, this is a tough one.  Well a lot of people say I’m really good with action, so I guess that’s one.

Share one of your weaknesses.

ROMANCE. I at romance so hard haha. It’s really difficult for me to realistically develop a relationship between two characters, but I’m really working on it.

Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Well shine my shoes and call me Susy, that’s a tough one… Perhaps this one from THE WONDERFUL ONES!

“Good work team! We repelled the Geathjerk and protected Blossom City from destruction!”  Jaebum said with a smile as heroic music filled the air. (Wonderful Factoid: Whenever The Wonderful Ones successfully complete a mission, heroic music plays, seemingly out of nowhere.  Scientists have been investigating this phenomenon for years, but they currently have no leads)

“It’s not over yet!” Mark pointed up at one last Geathjerk ship.  The bottom of the ship opened and a large Cyclops creature dropped out and released a mighty roar.

“Alright team, it’s gonna take all of us to fight off that thing! Wonder Pink, restrain it!” Jaebum ordered.

“Wonder Whip!” Bam Bam called as a bright pink whip appeared in his hand.  He swung it at the Cyclops, but the beast caught it and pulled Bam Bam right into a devastating punch, sending him flying into a car.  Jaebum shook his head in disappointment.

The Cyclops roared again and fired an intense energy beam from its enormous eye.  Yugyeom jumped in front of the group to protect them.

“Wonder Shield!” He screamed.  The large, black shield managed to deflect the beam just in time.

“Wonder Wand!” Mark raised the small wand into the air, reversing gravity around the Cyclops, causing it to float helplessly above the ground.

“Alright team, Unite Morph: Wonder Launcher!” Jaebum instructed.  Bam Bam limped over to the group just as everyone combined their weapons to form the Wonder Launcher.  Jaebum aimed the large firearm and pulled the trigger, tearing the Cyclops to shreds with multicolored energy.

“That’s it? Where’s the Kaboom!?” Bam Bam wondered, disappointed.  Seconds later, the remains of the Cyclops spontaneously exploded, earning a gleeful smile from Bam Bam.

“Now that’s what I call teamwork! Great work Wonderful Ones!” Jaebum said with a cheesy grin and a wink.  Jinyoung sighed; Jaebum could get way too into the whole superhero thing sometimes…

I like this because I grew up watching Super Sentai and its American counterpart, Power Rangers and I’ve always wanted to do a parody of those shows.

Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

This one is more recent. It’s from my story BATTLEFRONT, set in the universe of Star Wars.

“Well don’t be too scared kid,” Minseok interjected, “Those rebels are scum.  Destroying the Death Star was nothing but pure dumb luck on their part.  We’re gonna tear them apart and deliver Luke Skywalker to Lord Vader easy.  There’s no way they can match what we’re about to throw at them,”

I like this because growing up I always wondered how the events of the story felt from a Stormtrooper’s perspective, so now that I finally have a chance to write it I’m super excited!

Which fic has been the hardest to write?

The hardest would have to be BACK ROOM. It was my first attempt at horror and it proved to be incredibly challenging

Which fic has been the easiest to write?

None of them have been necessarily easy, but THE GREAT GUARD: ROUGES came pretty natural. I’d been planning it for about a year and a half so when the time to start writing finally came, it flowed really well.

Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

It’s one of my passions, along with singing and acting.

What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

“Write what you want to write, not what others want you to write,”

What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Someone once told me my stories needed to be more mainstream… I hate the idea that you should change your ideas to appeal to people who wouldn’t be interested in it otherwise

If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

Definitely THE GREAT GUARD: ROUGES (and the rest of the series as well). The story actually started as a script for my theater class in high school.

If you could only write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

VMin or JiHan

Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Start to finish, but I do plan the stories out of order sometimes.

Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

OUTLINES SAVE LIVES

Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?

Nope lol

Describe your perfect writing conditions.

Midnight, cold bedroom, Batman the animated series on the TV and SHINee blasting in my headphones… aww yeah.

How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

I don’t usually, unless proofreading counts. Occasionally I’ll be really dissatisfied with a chapter and just rewrite the whole thing, but that doesn’t happen often.

Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style

Oh man… alrighty then here we go. I’ll do the original BROTHERS IN ARMS.

Original:

I rested my head on the seat as the music blasted. My brother, Rain kept glancing over at me.

“You okay?” he asked, turning the music down.

“Yeah I'm fine... just thinking,” I replied.

“About?”

I shifted in my seat and looked through the window into the fog.

“You remember how you said that this was our last job?” I said.

“Yeah, why?” Rain pushed the hair from his face and flipped on the turn signal.

“Well what if we don't make it back?” I wondered, turning to face him.

“Well well well, is the fearless Joon actually afraid of something?” He said with a smile.

“No! I'm just... curious,”

Rain looked into my eyes as we stopped at a red light.

“Look Joon, everything is gonna be fine. We've beaten Werewolves, Gargoyles, Dark Elves... even a dragon!”

“What? There was no dragon!”

“Okay... so there wasn't a dragon, but you see my point! Taking out these vampires will be a piece of cake,” he assured me.

“I'd be more inclined to believe you if we weren't about to go up against every Vampire on the east coast,” I replied, sinking down into my seat as the light turned green.

“This summit could be our only chance to wipe these bastards out,”

I sighed heavily.

We pulled up to the abandoned mall. According to what some people who lived in this town had said, there was a string of grisly murders near this mall, so people stopped going. Based on the accounts, vampires were definitely to blame. For the past few months Rain and I had been doing surveillance, trying to find out whatever we could. We managed to find out that this mall was going to be the meeting place for the 2013 Vampire summit, in which all the Vamps in the region would come here to discuss... whatever the hell they discussed.

Revised:

Joon rested his head on the passenger’s seat of his brother’s car as they rode through the thick fog, making their way to a recently abandoned mall.  The night was cold, still and mostly quiet, although Joon knew that would change soon. His older brother took his eyes off the road for a moment to look over at Joon, taking note of his troubled expression.

“Hey, you alright?” he asked, turning his loud rock music down.  Joon absentmindedly nodded.

“Yeah I’m fine, I just have a lot on my mind,”

“Well lay it on me kiddo, what are you thinking about?”

“Well… you know how you said this is the last job right? What if we don’t make it back, what if we end up like dad?” Joon nervously asked, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice.

“Well I’ll be a son of a , is the fearless Joon actually afraid of something?” Rain replied, smirking as they stopped at a red light.

“No, of course not… I just wanna make sure we make it home, that’s all,” Joon said, shifting a bit in his seat.  Rain placed a hand on Joon’s shoulder and looked him in the eyes.

“Listen kiddo, we’re gonna be fine. We’re sons of Minhyuk. We’ve beaten werewolves, gargoyles, dark elves, hell even a dragon! We’re unstoppable!”

“A dragon? Dude, there was no dragon,” Joon giggled.

“Okay so there was no dragon, but my point stands!” Rain stepped on the accelerator as the light changed, “These vamps don’t stand a chance,”

“Well I’d love to agree. But taking on every vamp on the east coast still seems like suicide to me,” Joon responded, sinking down into the leather seat.

“I know it’s crazy. But this summit could be our only chance to wipe them out. Besides, if this is truly our last mission, we need to go out with a bang, am I right?”

Joon sighed heavily.

“I suppose so,”

The rest of the ride was pretty quiet until they pulled up to the abandoned mall.  Apparently there had been a series of murders in the area… every victim had been completely torn apart.  Most people thought wild animals were to blame, but Joon knew better. Vampires were responsible for these attacks.  Joon and Rain’s surveillance of the area confirmed that they had converged on this location to hold the Vampire Summit where they would discuss… whatever the hell vampires had to discuss.

If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

Also, BROTHERS IN ARMS. I’ve actually been planning to reboot the series, but I decided on a soft reboot instead.

Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?

Yes, I always hate doing it, but sometimes it’s necessary for one reason or another

What do you look for in a beta?

I’ve actually never used one. But I suppose I’d look for someone who’d catch my errors and just help my story reach its fullest potential

Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?

I never have before, but I’m open to the idea!

How do you feel about collaborations?

I really like the idea of collaborations, but I’ve never had a successful one myself.

Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

xdark_blue! Their MyungYeol fics actually brought me over to the dark side (I was a MyungJong shipper before that). The writing style, creativity, diversity and detail is awe inspiring, as well as the lifelike characters.

DGNA_Forever! One of my best friends on the site and a writer who is very similar to me in many ways. I love the way she writes about so many different bands and how her stories are always unique and fresh!

And last but most certainly not least, Snooopid! I love that she writes AMBW fics, as there is so little representation for the black community. Her stories do a great job of you into the scene and making you feel like a fly on the wall!

If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

A prequel to xdark_blue’s BRING IT ON! I’d love to write about MyungYeol’s budding relationship, if I wasn’t so sure I’d completely ruin the AMAZING story she wrote.

Do you accept prompts?

I never have before, but I’d like to!

Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

I’m very strict when it comes to cannon haha.

How do you feel about ?

is my favorite forbidden fruit haha, especially when it’s written well.

How do you feel about crack?

Crack kills, but it’s a fun way to die haha

What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con.

Not my style

Would you ever kill off a canon character?

Not usually, no

Which is your favorite site to post fics?

AFF! I love the layout of this site and how easy it is to use.

Talk about your current WIPs.

Too many, like waaaay too many, so I’ll just list a few.

DESTINY: Based off a video game with literally no plot, I was excited to inject some life into a world with so much potential. Starring the members of UP10TION, I’m really excited for where its headed, and the upcoming sequel of course J

THE GREAT GUARD V: DRAGON’S CLAW: Wow, I never expected to be doing a 5th entry in this series and the fact that it’s getting such a positive response is insane to me! There is lots more coming and I’m really taking my time on the climactic chapters, so if you’re a reader, look forward to it! It stars Jeonghan of Seventeen!

STOKED!: Loosely based on a cartoon that was canceled before its time, Stoked is my first attempt at a pure romance/drama and my first time writing MyungYeol! It’s about a group of surfers working at a beachfront hotel for the summer and their adventures.

Talk about a review that made your day.

Well it wasn’t a formal review, but a long, thoughtful comment from Tigress on THE GREAT GUARD: ROUGES really made me smile! I love getting feedback and constructive criticism so it was really great to read!

Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

Sometimes people leave comments saying they dislike my story. If they don’t give me any real details then I just kinda shrug it off. If they offer ways to fix it I’ll gladly consider them though!

Write an alternative ending to a fic of yours (or just the summary of one).

ORDER OF THE WOLF: REFORMATION. Instead of a fight between the Order and Liberty Corps at the school, there would be a massive revolution in the streets. Some members of the Order would be trying to save innocent lives while Hansol and Sohee took on Yuri directly to stop the madness.

I loved doing this! I'd love to see how you guys answer!

I loved your answers! They voice a lot of my own thoughts, so that might be why we get along so well<3. You are one of my favorite writers, too! I love you<3.

I think you're good at writing romance and relationships, so you shouldn't worry:).

I liked Star Wars, too, but am partial to Star TREK. I loved Commander Riker and Captain Picard. I used to watch it when I was growing up, and it was priceless...

QUOTE: “Write what you want to write, not what others want you to write,” I love this! It's so true!

I agree about outlines saving lives! They are wonderful and keep us on track=).

"It’s really difficult for me to realistically develop a relationship between two characters, but I’m really working on it."
RIGHT?!?! I can write a fight scene in like, no time at all. But romance??? Shoot me >.<

Also I had to laugh. Isn't it funny how much our writing styles change as we go? *the revision brought this comment on*

NOOOOO you went to MyungYeol *cries* MyungJong is life!!! (along with outlines) *sobs in the darkness alone*

But oh my I was mentioned *embarrassed* Well I am glad it could make an impression on you =)
