Craft #82: Pumpkin + missing tooth + shut up flower boy band

The left side of my mouth feels tender after the tooth extraction last Monday afternoon. I am under medication and I don't feel quite like myself when I'm taking medicine -_-

I wasn't able to sleep that Monday and so I spent my time reading The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing from Writer's Digest to gear up for November. I forgot how to write. I have ideas for scenes but I don't know how to show them or I forgot how.

If I'm not reading, I'm downloading polymer clay tutorials. HAHA!

But my greatest accomplishment in one day is completing all episodes of Shut Up Flower Boy Band. Yehey! peachysoo/conchobar sugggested it and it took me almost a month downloading the torrent -_- Their band name suits them! Watching it distracted me from the discomfort of my missing tooth. The pacing was just right and I am satisfied with the ending. Or their choices.

Next one is Reply 1997.

(I am having a hard time downloading anime eps ._.)

Fortunately, I was able to make this pumpkin the day before (Sunday).

It turned out cute, if I say so myself! Haha!

The original plan is to create a cornucopia (in Greek mythology, it is a goat's horn that contains an endless supply of food and drink). Or just a basket filled with produce. I was aiming for realistic but I don't mind the kawaii version. HAHA.

You may skip this last part...

Shut Up Flower Boy Band Ramblings

I haven't met such an unfortunate lot of students. Trouble keeps finding them and they respond with their fists (except for Soo Ah who is quick to forgive her father).

And it's not surprising that they have family problems, except maybe for Ha Jin (does having three sisters make one not want to go home?) and Kyung Jong (his mother is just worried and she's in Busan).

Most writers get rid of the family, of parents mostly, in the storyline in order to place their characters in the most unfortunate circumstances by sending them abroad, etc. But in this story, even though they are not physically present most of the time, you could still feel their influence in the lives of these characters; how they were always backed in a corner without protection or a choice because of their absence. (And it also allows them to have Soo Ah living next door.)

It is a story of family; they were able to make one in spite of everything, Their loyalty to each other keep getting tested. But through all those misunderstandings and arguments, there's forgiveness and love. And I like how they recognized the possibility that they might have other dreams as well, aside from Eye Candy.  Byunghee was their glue and with his unexpected demise, the cracks in their relationships started showing. Their main goal was to release Byunghee's song and they were able to do that. But they didn't think too far ahead what happens to them after and that's when all the misunderstandings escalated that led to their disbandment. Truth is, if they only talked to each other and say what they meant, it would have been avoided -_-

I haven't forgiven that arrogant, self-entitled, narrow-minded, bitter pig Pyo Joo for hitting Byunghee in the head with a baseball bat. I pity Seunghoon (he's that guy in Do Re Mi... and Boys Over Flowers, right?) and I don't like him most of the time, but not as much as I hate Pyo Joo. I like Maro, esp when he's just pointing out the honest truth. He's the only reason I was able to stand those scenes with Pyo Joo. Gah.

And yay for teacher! Shil Ba redeemed himself (those deductions were ridiculous).

I never... that is to say... I'd rather have Wookyung not say anything at all ^^ Someone please shut her up. She's desperate to the point of annoying. So bitter. And so demanding when Ji Hyuk never made declarations or promises. Aish.

Prince Do Il is so sweet though; always trying to keep the peace. When he first came on screen, I thought it was the meds affecting my vision. I mean, is he real? Can someone really look like that in real life and not just in anime? He's so beautiful~~ And his father had no qualms messing it up. Well, he neer did. Even with cuts and bruises, he's still beautiful, it's unreal. (That scene inside the salon >_< GAAAAAAAAHHHHH) (I want that couch/sofa... I mean his throne... lolololol)

And oh! The scandal is not just a celebrity having a girlfriend but them living together in one roof (It's not true of course). But if they are going to create a scandal that would rip the band apart or at least justify them being in the headlines, I prefer the latter because I mean, having a girlfriend is not really scandalous  -_- It didn't feel like they were a couple though. I liked their interactions before the kiss. Hehe. So cute, those two.

That scene with Kyung Jong with his mother struck a chord. I admire his determination to stay but I could never do that with my mom wailing on the floor. My mom was on the sofa ehe -_-

At some point, Ha Jin started to annoy me. But oh well, it turned out okay.

Hyun Soo... could you be a little bit more... sympathetic? Oh well, he's stressed and overworked. Plus his sister is sick; such a caring brother. He practically raised his kid sister. He never smiles when he's awake but the moment he sleeps, his lips decide that it's time to relax. That was one of my favorite scenes. He's so loyal to his bandmates. I do appreciate him being the band's rep. And I like how he said he didn't want complications and yet landed himself in one xD That scene in the recording studio with Ye Rim when he told her that she is not free that coming Saturday is so precious. Oh, yeah, and their duet too.

Byunghee is so crazy, it's scary. I like how he just deals with life. Jaywalking... is just so Byunghee. He's so confident in his own skin. I like that about him.

The witch... Director Yoo is not that bad. I don't mind her being strict with them or when she's blunt with them. But I didn't like her telling Soo Ah to break up with Ji Hyuk. That's... overused.

And every hero must need a mentor. Go Rock Kim!

I really don't know where I am going with this. I'm rambling. So I'm going to end it here and now.

I really love SUFBB, their friendship is truly adorable. I cried a river when Byunghee passed away.

After some months of finishing a series, I always forgrt the names and the plot, etc. But this made me recall. And boy did I recall feeling anger when Byunghee died. It was sooo sudden, and I loved his character. This drama was a memorable one also because of Jung Jinhyeong's cameo. He was that kid who was in the last ep, in Ha Jin's acting class, and had the smile of an angel. Lmao I'm rambling. But you should watch WIN or Mix and Match if you're into witnessing young boys chasing their dreams (and failing ㅠㅠ)
