Every author can relate. . .

It hurts.

I'm not an author myself but my cousin is.

The way she devotes half of her time to input 50-100 words just so she could update a meaningful chapter every friday.

The way she gives extra research just to include some scenarios that should be relatively original.

A lot of people are demanding for an update and she looks at those in a positive perspective (eventhough some are just plain rude to be honest).

She will update.

No matter how hectic her schedule is, multi-tasking between writing his term paper and "asianfanfics" paper.

Subscribers will rise, upvote may be two or  threes. . .

And then comments?

One.

Why? That's what I'm asking.

You're reading.

Obviously you have inner thoughts on your mind.

Is it really hard to probably comment at least whether you enjoyed the chapter or not?
Take it as a payment for all the hardworks she sacrificed just because she doesn't want to keep her readers waiting.
I'm not just telling about her here. I'm telling this on behalf of all the authors out there who are experiencing the silent readers syndrome.

Please. Please. You don't know how hard it is to meet everyone's expectations.
I'll tell you now. It comes with a LOT of thinking and revising.

Sometimes, I just feel stupid for my cousin, for waiting for responses to her chapter and then will receive only two out of the 54 added subscribers.

I mean, how hard is it to comment? REALLY?
Can authors feel enjoyment as well?

Honestly, comments are a huge part of the story's backbone.
It makes the story go on as the author feels that you're giving her/his story an importance.
Without them, authors feel like they're talking stupidly to themselves.

Just please think of it, to all the readers out there.

Peace out. // Zutter //
