heo chaebin was born february 19 1997 in gwangju, south korea. she came from a well-off family.
her mother was a grade school teacher and her father owned a medical clinic in their neighborhood.
chaebin grew up with an older brother, chulsoo.

ever since chaebin was in middle school, she was a model. before modeling for clothing lines and school
uniforms, she did tv ads for food products and the latest children toys. chaebin was quite popular in school. all the
girls wanted to be friends with her and be her, and guys just wanted to be her boyfriend.

chaebin was recognized by cube entertainment and the company contacted her, asking her to audition.
she took the offer and trained for six months before moving to her current agency where she trained for
a year.

during her training, chaebin's mother became ill and was hospitalized several times. not being able to
see her mother as often - chaebin went through a rough time. despite still living with her family at that time, chaebin
left home right at sunrise and came home when everyone was asleep. so she was never able to really see her mother.
she stopped answering calls and calling back. after being told she was making her debut was the first time she really
sat down and spent time with her family.
