Craft #75 -76: A book and a cookie

I'm on a roll, haha! (Another charm is in the oven).

I was busy yesterday too.

This is supposed to be Bilbo's book but it didn't turn out that way xD I give you.... *drum roll*

A  book charm!

One of my unnies celebrated her birthday last September 6 and we'll meet later this evening. And I am giving her a gift!

The original plan was to make a polymer clay birthday cake because she makes fondant cakes. But then a cake is bulky for a charm. And a cake figurine would only collect dust.

And so for about a week, I mentally listed all the possible items I should be able to create, but it has to be beach- themed.  I was decided on a pale blue macaron with shells until yesterday morning...

Tada!

A letter C cookie! With frosting!

I'm so proud of myself.

All polymer clay artists I subscribed to in YT make frosting by mixing TLS, which I don't have, with clay, pigments, eyeshadow and pastels. And yesterday afternoon, it hit me. Bake and Bond is also liquid clay. The main difference with TLS and Bake and Bond is that the former dries transparent. But if I want blue icing, it wouldn't matter. And so, I mixed Bake and Bond with my pastels.

I still have to practice my frosting skills. For something so small, it took me several minutes to layer the icing on top ^^

I also made the sand from polymer clay. Creativesculpey uploaded a new video two days ago and it's a tutorial on how to make realistic sand using polymer clay.

I will still make that macaron. HAHA! For me xD

 *ting ting*

Omo, looks like the other charm is done...
