"She's so happy she can rainbows" - Hyunjae is kind of like the mitochondria of the cell; She is full of energy, smiles and laughter. You can stare at her for 24 hours straight and she'll constantly be smiling at you - even in her sleep. She's that happy. Hyunjae is a person filled with positivity and doesn't let no bull bring her down. oNE LOOK AT HER AND YOU CAN JUST TELL HOW MUCH SHE LOVES LIFE AND HOW MUCH SHE LOVES TO LIVE. She exudes positivity and happiness and you can't help but to be happy yourself looking at her. Her energy and aura is infectionous. At the same time, her energy and youth reminds you of a child. Actually, she straight up acts as a child. Making flower crowns, jumping into a pile of leaves, making snow angels, dancing in the rain; she is essentially just a 7 year old kid in the body of a 19 year old. When she's really happy (which is 99% of the time) she's walking with a skip in her step, waving her arms around her. It's like she's constantly on cloud 9 and nothing can bring her down. SHe doesn't let negativity faze her and instead tries to look at the positive side of things.    

"Who cares if it's 2 in the morning?! We're going to learn how to tap dance!" - Being friends with Hyunjae essentially means that you'll be doing the randomest at the randomest times. 2 in the morning? The perfect time to learn how to tap dance. Math midterm coming up? Hey, let's learn about space and the stars and memorize constellations instead! Driving through rush hour? LET'S learn how to DRIFT. Hyunjae is the definition of adventure and spontaneity. Every day is always something new with her. She'll drag you out of your house at 6 in the morning just so she can try out some dingy diner in an even dingier part of town. She loves to explore and try new things. Random, spontaneous and crazy; That's Hyunjae for you. She's very open minded and is always willing to learn about anything. She wants to fill her brain with knowledge and experiences. She doesn't care how disgusting something is or how dangerous it could be, she has no fear. She's not afraid of failure which is why she isn't afraid of trying new things. She takes every challenge head on and keeps going at it until she succeeds or accomplishs her goals.   

"so how are you and your boyfriend doing - oh you guys broke up?" - Clueless and dense may be a bit of an understatement. Sometimes you may think that Hyunjae is just flat out dumb. She's very terrible at reading the mood and the atmosphere. Her friends could've gotten into a huge fight and she'll walk in during the middle of it with her stupid grin asking if they wanna try to make caramel popcorn, not noticing the daggers and glares that they are sending at each other. If someone's mad at her, she won't notice it. She'll go up to them acting all buddy buddy with them and even if they're being cold or distant she doesn't pay mind to it - unless it's very upfront, like they're ignoring her or snapping at her. Other than that, You'd have to flat out tell her that you're mad at her for her to realize that you are.

"head strong to take you on." - With Hyunjae's random tendencies and spontaneous adventures comes her impulsiveness and somewhat unwise decisions. Hyunjae's not really a person to think things through and instead acts on impulse or feeling. And once she's made up her mind then it's game over. She's very stubborn so it's very difficult to try and get her to change her mind. Due to her impulsive decision making, she's made a lot of bad choices in her life that have not only hurt her but those around her. Sometimes it can be something just as small as setting someone back a half hour behind schedule or it can be something bigger, like having to repaint someone's wall or spend the afternoon cleaning up their kitchen or pulling an all nighter to finish an assignment. As mentioned earlier, Hyunjae is stubborn. SHE DOESN'T LIKE TO ADMIT WHEN SHE'S WRONG WHICH MAY BE DETRIMENTAL WHEN IT COMES TO RELATIONSHIPS. sHE'S SOMEWHAT OF A PRIDEFUL PERSON AND DOESN'T LIKE TO SAY SORRY. aND IF SHE WANTS SOMETHING THEN GOD, SHE'S GOING TO GET IT.

tHE STORY OF ALL IMMIGRANTS - hYUNJAE lEE WAS BORN TO TWO hardworking korean parents who immigrated to Canada in hopes of giving Hyunjae's older brother a better life. At the time, her brother was 8 months old and Hyunjae herself wasn't even born yet! She was born a year and a half later in the heat of Summer. Initially their parents were tight on money because they were struggling to find stable jobs. Hyunjae's father had studied abroad and graduated University with a buisness degree, allowing for him to land a job at a bank as an accountant. Her mother, on the other hand, was trying to pursue a career in nursing so most of their family income went to her tuition and studies. Eventually once that journey was overcome, their parents were able to spoil their children with love, affection and lots of toys.  

Everyone's kid is going to be in love with my kid - Growing up, Hyunjae's parents wanted Hyunjae to do everything. This is probably why she is so interested in everything because even from a young age, she was trying new things. She first learned how to play the piano when she was 4, started ballet classes when she was 7 and then hip hop classes when she was 9, picked up the guitar at age 10, enrolled into tae kwon do classes when she was 12, joined the basket ball time when she was 15 and learned the saxophone when she was 16. On top of that her parents sent her to a math tutor all throughout junior high - even though she didn't need one. Their reason was because she needed to "get ahead of the class. Growing up, Hyunjae was essentially a well rounded person.

no... you're lying! - During HYUNJAE'S SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL, ONE OF HER CLOSEST FRIEND PASSED AWAY. oN nEW yEARS eVE HE WAS LEAVING HER HOUSE AFTER A PARTY WHEN HE WAS HIT STRAIGHT ON BY A DRUNK DRIVER. hE WAS KILLED INSTANTLY. When Hyunjae first heard of the news, she was in denial. She couldn't accept the fact that he was dead. He was still so young and had so much ahead of him. tHIS LEFT hYUNJAE IN A STATE OF DEPRESSION FOR A LONG TIME. sHE WAS ONLY 17 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME AND HAD NEVER KNOWN LOSS BEFORE UNTIL THAT DAY. fROM THAT DAY ON, SHE SWORE TO HERSELF THAT SHE WOULD NEVER HESITATE TO TELL THE PEOPLE SHE LOVED THAT SHE LOVED THEM AND ALWAYS HAD ON A SMILE TO CONCEAL THE PAIN THAT SHE FELT INSIDE. Never again does she want to feel that way. 

And what about right now? - Currently, Hyunjae is going into her second year of nursing. She has amazing friends and studies hard to maintain a high G.P.A. Her family life is nothing unusual. She has two loving parents, an adoring older brother and everything she could possibly need. She knows of the struggles her parents went through in order for her to live and she is thankful for that every day. Her parents are her heart and soul and they are her motivation to study hard and to get a great job and to support them and take care of them and spoil them the same way they spoiled her.

Likes:

• Music: hYUNJAE IS INTO EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC. hER FAVOURITES BEING HIP HOP, RAP, POP, r&b, EDM AND CLASSICAL. She's a huge fan of j.cole, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Sam smith, Adventure Club and Porter RObinson. (But she'll listen to anything.)  
• pLAYING THE PIANO: Her love for playing the piano is largely due to the fact that her dad wanted to learn the piano but he never could because his parents couldn't afford it for him. Her father is one of her biggest supporters and is one of the reasons why she never quit. She does it for him. (Although she enjoys it herself too.) 
• dANCING: At this point you can recognize that hyunjae is a very musically inclined person. Although ballet was whatever to her, hyunjae loved hip hop. She loves to watch dancers and she loves to dance herself.
• Bubbletea: But more specifically, pearls. Whenever she orders boba, she always orders extra pearls because they taste so good to her.
• Passion: Whether that would be in dancing, singing, painting, drawing, acting, karate - whatever. Hyunjae wants to be around people who are passionate and want to accomplish things in life. SHe gets shivers hearing someone passionately sing or just seeing the raw emotion on someone's face when they dance or are concentrating on something.
• Photos & Polaroids: She's a very sentimental person and she holds onto memories very tightly. She's scared of losing the people she loves so she always wants to keep all the memories and faces engraved in a photograph - something she could hold onto forever.   

Dislikes:

• boys - Need I say more?
• Horror Movies - Hyunjae gets scared easily, therefore not making her a fan of horror movies.
• Thunder - The sound of thunder scares Hyunjae. Most of the time it's very sudden, loud and something about the sound just doesn't sit right with Hyunjae. She doesn't mind lightning but paired with thunder? Not a good combination.
• Swimming - Because she cannot swim for the dear life of her.

Habits:

• She chews on her lip whenever she's nervous. sHE USED TO BITE ON HER NAILS BUT REALIZED IT WAS BAD FOR HER SO SHE BITES ON HER LIPS INSTEAD. (wHICH IS ALSO BAD FOR HER BUT NOT AS BAD AS BITING HER NAILS.)
• When she's angry she'll bite the inside of her cheek to try not to snap at people. sHE'S NOT A VERY ANGRY PERSON. 

Hobbies:

• Playing the piano - She's been playing it for years and she still does. 
• Dancing - aLTHOUGH SHE DOESN'T DO BALLET ANY MORE, SHE LOVES HIP HOP AND BREAK DANCING. sHE'LL DO ANYTHING THAT REVOLVES AROUND DANCING, EVEN IF IT'S GOING TO A CYPHER TO WATCH OTHERS DANCE. 
• Baking - aS MUCH AS hYUNJAE LOVES TO COOK, SHE LOVES BAKING SO MUCH MORE. sHE HAS A HUGE SWEET TOOTH AND LOVES TO MAKE MACARONS, CUPCAKES AND COOKIES.

Trivia:

• oUT OF ALL THE ACTIVITIES HER PARENTS ENROLLED HER IN, SHE CURRENTLY STILL PLAYS THE PIANO AND ATTENDS HIP HOP CLASSES. sHE ONLY STAYED ON THE BASKETBALL TEAM AND PLAYED THE SAXOPHONE IN HER SCHOOL'S BAND DURING HER HIGH SCHOOL YEARS. sHE QUIT BALLET AFTER 5 YEARS, DROPPED THE GUITAR 2 YEARS LATER AND STOPPED TAE KWON DO AFTER A YEAR OF ATTENDING.
• She knows a lot of useless facts. Like, you could ask her what the population of Mongolia is and she'd be able to give you a rough estimate (IT'S Almost 3 MILLION, IF YOU WERE CURIOUS.)
• Hyunjae's a person who just loves to try new things. She's very adventurous. She'll do anything. She's very open minded. Sky diving, rock climbing, scuba diving, surfing, snow boarding, cooking, knitting - the spectrum is wide and the possibilities are endless.
• Hyunjae got her first tattoo (of the two roses) as soon as she turned 18. She got the quote tattoo a month later.
