Inferno

I was leaning my back against the headboard of my bed. It was one of those nightmares again. I was locked up in a room and I was staring at his eyes filled with hatred, power, yet his eerie aura seemed to be devasted.

"Why have you betrayed me?" He asks and I couldn't fathom what he was talking about. I was too afraid to speak. I was peering at him in the dark, something on my side suddenly lit up and the next thing I knew, the room was on fire. I looked at him but his face was vague and the heavy smoke was to blame for concealing his identity.

I wanted to cry and I don't know the reason why. I felt guilty seeing the pain lurking behind his dark orbs but my pedestal remains untainted. I know I did something to him. By that moment, I knew I hurt him. I just can't remember what I did. The heat was surrounding us but I could feel nothing but the coldness of his voice.

"Run," he tells me, his voice sending chills down my spine, "before I change my mind and kill you." The dagger springs out of his hand and the next thing I knew, I was pumping my feet fast as disappeared into the alley of darkness.
