「♥」 the most noticeable trait of mirae's are her curves. while most female idols have athletic builds with slight curves, she's all curves. hourglass? s-line? she's got both, and to the extreme (haters say she's just fat). she isn't exactly sure where her figure came from, as her other family members are very athletic looking too. her hair has been dyed many different colors (currently it's light brown), but the cut has always been pretty consistent; at least down past her chest, really long fringe, and styled as something a little straighter than beach waves. she has a number of piercings—for her ears, the left has two earlobe piercings, while the right has one earlobe and a rook piercing; her belly button is also pierced. she also has a tattoo of two fish on her left arm, which until recently was covered up for live performances and fan meetings.

due to her body type, her skirts and shorts end up revealing a little more than desired, and most of her shirts inadvertently draw attention to her chest. for this reason, she is allowed to wear these clothes for performances, so as to not restrict her movements, but in the event that she will be interacting with fans up close, stylists will put her in much more conservative, loose-fitting clothes, like off-shoulder sweaters and jeans. if she always had her way, though, she would wear crop tops and shorts all day, every day.

PERSONALITY : 

「♥」 it might have just been because of her body, but as a teenager, whether mirae would flash a friendly smile at someone, or even just touch them, everything she did seemed awfully flirtatious, especially if she's interacting with a guy. this is something she kept in mind when she created macey future, the impenetrable girl with a magnetic stage presence. while at that time, little mirae was shy and awkward, years in the underground sort of made her become macey, albeit on a smaller scale.

for one thing, mirae is a serious nonconformist. be feminine, filial and demure? she finds it almost demeaning that she is constantly told to act that way, although she doesn't really have anything against girls who do. it's more just a question of "why do i have to act that way? does anyone really care that much?" she's found that some people do, but when it comes to television appearances, most hosts actually find it kind of funny that mirae does whatever she wants without thinking about the consequences. she also tends to flirt with other people, but no matter how much she seems to like someone, she never means anything serious by it. for her, it's just kind of fun to watch other's reactions to her forwardness. in all, she just wants to be whatever she wants, not what others want her to be. so if she wants to be cute or y or something in between, she can. in that sense, she's very flexible.

while she's still introverted, and needs some time to be on her own, mirae has developed into a very talkative person, mostly because most the friends she has made in recent years are very outgoing. she knows what to say and when without making things awkward (unless of course someone wasn't expecting her to be so frank about something). in her time alone, she won't say anything unless prompted, and likes to sit and write new rap verses, or watch her fish swim around in their tank/clean their tank.

still, there are hints of the painfully shy, anxious child mirae once was, namely her inability to take a compliment. instead of saying a simple "thank you", she always has to question the other person; "okay, but why do you think i'm pretty?" and "do you really mean that?" are her two most common responses. she's just been so used to being called fat, or being told nice things in order to get in her pants, that it seems no one can really say anything genuine to her. but, for some reason, if she calls herself attractive, it's fine. the general populace is very confused about her overabundance (and at the same time seeming lack) of confidence in her body.

「♥」 one of the reasons mirae was so shy as a kid was because of her accent. at home, she exclusively spoke in the gyeongsang dialect (more specifically the busan variation), and had to learn standard korean in school by interacting with/listening to her peers. to this day, she sometimes slips back to the dialect when she's feeling any sort of strong emotion.
「♥」 a huge fan of missy elliott, nicki minaj, and yoon mirae. she also likes kendrick lamar, tiger jk, jay park, nina sky, lupe fiasco, and drake.

LOVE EXPERIENCE : 

「♥」 because mirae is more of a philanderer than a monogamist, she's been with many different people over the years, but whether or not they would be considered datefriends or not is questionable. she had her first boyfriend at the ripe age of 13, right when she started taking rapping seriously. she was a serial romancer before she debuted, usually having a new beau every other week. but after debuting, she had to slow down for the sake of her (or rather femme fatale's) image. still, she's had a couple guys on the down low, including moon jonghyun, another underground rapper and the person she's been with the longest so far. they recently broke things off, however, because they were starting to grow apart. she's had crushes over the years too, of course.

in all, one could say she's pretty experienced in the relationship department.

looks like she could kill you and could actually kill you // a firm, stoic leader, fans simultaneously love and fear her. she's always been very awkward on-camera, and was allowed to because, when femme fatale first debuted, she was simply the third oldest in the group. but after the two eldest left, she was forced to take the role. she grew up learning martial arts, from hapkido to tae kwon do to traditional taekkyeon, so she's a real force to be reckoned with. she is still best friends with yookyung, who is a former member of the group, and has kept in contact with the other members who have "graduated". she was very displeased with mirae's addition, because it demoted her to a mere vocalist.

looks like a cinnamon roll and is actually a cinnamon roll // the group's fake maknae since debut, both for her personality and youthful face, soft-spoken and jovial free spirit kim hyori just likes to do things at her own pace. she doesn't pay much attention to the world around her, unless she wants to, and also has the nickname "blankri" for all the times she can be seen spacing out in interviews. she practiced ballet from age three to thirteen before moving on to other genres like hip-hop, b-boying, et cetera, then studied modern dance in university. she loves to dance more than anything else, as it helps her focus, and spends hours in the dance studio. she's always been a better dancer than yujin, but because she procrastinates and zones out so much, the agency had no choice but to put her in the lead dance position. she's the closest to mirae, and they have been roommates since 2013.

looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you // she dropped her stage name after femme fatale's comeback in 2011, which she calls a "parallel to my blackened heart". when the group first debuted, minhee, or "mochi" as she was known at the time, was the bright, cute maknae. but mediocre fame, combined with two different line-up changes, she has morphed into a cynical, dramatic person off-camera. under the stage lights, she's still her "happy" self, albeit a little more mellow, but fans assume this is because of her getting older, and so she remains the most popular member alongside myna. she's actually very musically talented, and can play multiple instruments, but she's never really had the voice to back it up.

looks like she could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll // sang, better known as zanna, grew up in a tiny town of only 100 people, and never expected that her audition tape would lead her to be accepted into a talent agency, let alone debut under the same label as her favorite musical artist. she likes to spend her time reading, and is generally a very quiet person, so fans didn't really have anything negative to say about her when she joined in 2010. well, other than her seeming lack of a personality. even though she is the closest in age to mirae, she has the most distant relationship with her, mostly because she's just so freaking awkward and shy.

STAR HISTORY : 

「♥」 unfortunately, the femme fatale before mirae joined was nothing special. they debuted as a six-member group (heeyeon, yewon, yujin, duri, hayley, and mochi/minhee) under nega network. but, simply being the hoobaes of brown eyed girls was simply not enough to help the girls. netizens called them "sm copy cat" due to their debut song, "glass bead", having a very similar sound to "into the new world" by snsd, a new sm group. "me gustas tu" and "u you" received similar responses. then they brought out a mediocre, funky song called "bling bling". the song was not criticized this time, nor did garner much attention. still, nega network was determined to have more than one successful group. even when yewon terminated her contract after promotions ended, the agency promptly replaced her (at this point, the group consisted of heeyeon, yujin, duri, hayley, mochi/minhee, and zanna). the girls returned five months later with a mini album, mostly consisting of ballads. it was aggressively promoted by b.e.g., and so it actually received attention. the album even made it onto the gaon weekly album chart at #99; not amazing, but definitely an improvement. after the combination of a catchy pre-summer tune, a solo debut, and a feature on miryo's album, the group even managed to be nominated for a mama award in 2011, though netizens were pissed that more famous groups didn't take their place. things were finally starting to look up for the girls, but that was far from the truth.

just after promotions for "i don't want you" ended, heeyeon made the decision to leave the agency after her three-year contract ended in december, claiming she felt overwhelmed. duri, on the other hand, was distraught after being demoted to lead vocalist with the addition of zanna, and planned to depart at the same time. this forced nega network to rewrite the line distribution for femme fatale's planned comeback in february the next year. originally, femme fatale was going to return as a four-member group, with hayley taking on the position of main rapper. but the girls' labelmate, miryo, had another idea. this is where mirae, finally, comes into play.

at some point in may, miryo had (after a lot of convincing) recruited a rapper named macey future to the agency. nega network was wary of adding macey to the group, considering underground rappers came with a stereotype of not being model citizens. but femme fatale needed a new "representative" for their group, and macey was charismatic, and surprisingly friendly. she was also young, which might just attract younger fans. after much debate, she was taken out of the trainee program to focus solely on learning what would have been heeyeon's parts, along with a few of duri's, to become the newest member of femme fatale, all the while being coached by miryo herself. the original members (and zanna) weren't so happy with her addition, since the company seemed to be playing favorites. and what if this trash-mouthed rapper just ruined their slow progress to fame? 

in the two weeks leading up to femme fatale's comeback, teaser videos and pictures of mirae were released. as expected, there was some backlash after fans discovered mirae's past in the underground, but at the same time, all the controversy surrounding her was bringing more attention to the group, bringing in enough fans that the haters were canceled out. on valentines' day, "chewy" was released. with it's cute-but-still-y/mature concept, k-pop fans ate it up, and the girls actually almost won on music shows. only a handful of times, actually, but it was a change. with the success their new song had, promotions were extended, and they released two original singles, which were also featured on their first repackaged album. things were looking up again, but the tension between mirae and the other girls was thick enough to cut with a knife; mirae was steadily becoming the most requested to appear solo on variety shows, even if she was the newest. the pressure from nega network to do well didn't help either, especially when it claimed the girls were old enough to work on their own music, like their sister group. as long as they ran it by the company before releasing a song or filming a music video, they were good to go.

so, they started to work on the song "hate you!" and "bam bam bam": minhee was in charge of mixing, while zanna worked on lyrics alongside mirae, who the originals thought would do best writing any rap verses they wanted to add in (they didn't really want to have her involved in the first place, though). they released it five months later, and while fans thought the songs were catchy, they were just too different from the femme fatale they had become accustomed to, and the ep was considered a flop. so, the girls went back to the studio and recorded a number of songs, still without any real assistance from their company. 15 months later, they came back with "one more", which was a not-so-subtle jab at one of yujin's ex-boyfriends. the song was their most popular yet, but the lyrics were deemed inappropriate by music shows after a few live performances. only after the girls edited the lyrics for live appearances were they able to perform again. despite this setback, it piqued netizens' interest.

after collaborating with lyricist kim eana, so as to have quality lyrics that would not be misinterpreted, and by extension banned, femme fatale returned with something, the (mostly) self-produced album they had dreamed of. yujin was absent from promotions for their single, "something", where mirae shyed away from her usually rapping and took on more of a lead vocalist role. fans almost boycotted the comeback until yujin emerged on social media to say she was doing just fine, and was still very much in the group. femme fatale (sans yujin) returned in the summer with two singles; "shake it" and "i'm in love", but for the most part only performed the latter live. while things are still not all warm and fuzzy between mirae and most of the other girls, there is certainly less tension. they have considered switching to a new company with better management, either by terminating or waiting until their current contract expires; mirae especially, because miryo was her inspiration for joining nega network in the first place, and with her and b.e.g. gone, she has no real point in staying. the five of them feel they've been put on the back burner since the debut of lc9 and laboum, as no one from the company has tried very hard to actively promote them besides live performances and the occasional d-list variety show appearance.

fans are called f3 (pronounced "f-cubed"), which stands for "fans of femme fatale". older f3s aren't huge fans of mirae, saying she's graceless and downright rude, which to be honest is true; she disrespected more of her seniors than should be considered appropriate within the first year of her debut, but in her opinion, she was justified in doing so. on shim shim ta pa, for example, shindong said she was a little chubby, and suggested she lose weight to stay popular, to which she replied "well, at least our songs are still good and aren't popular just because we are." or the time she called another male idol out on his ist comment. newer fans think she's a breath of fresh air among the influx of shy female idols that have come about recently.

"i'm also the member of femme fatale that gets the most solo appearances on television, apparently because i have the best 'variety sense', but i don't think that's true. i just enjoy talking to other people!" she adds with a laugh.

「♥」 "before i had gotten the news, i received a call while i was at home that i needed to come to company headquarters immediately. and initially, i was worried, because i thought i had done something wrong. higher-ups in the company don't really call us anymore, unless it's for something negative. as it turns out, they wanted to give me the news in person. i knew minhee-eonni would be pretty jealous, because she would love to be on a show like this." mirae laughs, "but now i'm very excited that i've been chosen to participate. it should be a very interesting experience."

「♥」 mirae attempts to stifle a giggle, but ultimately fails, taking a few seconds to clear them from her system, "i kind of... screamed, i guess you could say? i really tried not to, but it just sort of happened." she admits, flashing a sheepish smile, "before i became an idol, i had heard some rumors about bts, and honestly, i was really excited for their debut. they were going to be a breath of fresh air in the music industry. and even though the group isn't exactly what it was originally going to be, i always anticipate bts' comebacks. so when i found out i would be working with them, i couldn't help but be excited."

「♥」 "i think love, whether it be romantic, platonic, or something else, is important in a person's life. however, at my age, i don't think it's necessary for me to get into a long-term, romantic relationship yet. i still have a number of things i want to accomplish and try before that. plus, the media has published grossly warped stories about me being in serious relationships with my friends before, which is very uncomfortable." mirae shifts in her seat, "i believe that, until the day that stops, i just wouldn't feel secure about going public about my dating life."
