To my writers people! And readers!

So here are a few questions, to start a few discussions, becuase I know I have a ton of friends on here that I've never even spoken to (HERE'S YOUR CHANCE). Also, I'm interested in what you guys think about some things and how you work with your writing and/or reading.  Let's begin!

1. When reading a fic, do you perfer details and context, or do you prefer simply actions flowing and going through the storyline?

2. What are your categories for reading a fic?  For example, do you just go through a certain tag, certain rating (if so, what), or something else?

3. If you truly liked a fic, would you upvote and/or comment? Would you check the other stories written by that author too?

4. What do you base your writing off?  I.e., do you have a person/couple in the living flesh that you observe or think a certain idea of when you see him/her/them?  And I'm mostly talking about AU's here.

5.  Do you have any themes that you would really like to see written more about?

Basically the point of this is to start some discussions! so feel free to ask your own questions too below (or on my newly useless ask). Ciaosu~~

edit: YES I MEAN ANSWER A QUESTION HERE AND WE'LL START A DISCUSSION thank you sugarcoffy

Another question we got from sugarcoffy! : What's your favorite AU??

Asked by hopelesswriter!: Are the characters/the celebrities who are used as the characters important in determining whether or not you give a fanfic a try?

i'm...just randomly blogwalking...i guess i'll throw in my answers since these seem interesting...hope that's fine with you...:)
1. it depends, whether the details match the plot progression or whether they enhance the reading experience or just clunky mess of words to drag things longer unnecessarily...some detailing would be nice to help enhance imagination...but not all genres need too many details i guess...idk...i like to be given space to think too, instead of being spoonfed of every little thing...
2. lately...i don't find fics anymore since it's too hard to find what i would read...sometimes i go blogwalking or anywhere...if people are asking ppl to check their fics...i'll go look it up if i'm interested...i like anything unconventional...idols/characters/pairings/plot,etc...another way of looking for fics is...i go through tags of artistes i'm willing to read their fics...n then look for fics with little/none comments n see if they're interesting...never really attracted to popular stuffs...
3. Yes...for comment..if i've spend time reading it n especially plan to keep reading...there's no reason for me to not comment since i'm totally against silent readers...upvote...if the fic really impress me, i never get it when fics getting upvotes even without one chapter posted just for coming from influential authors...n yes, i would check the authors' other fics if one of their fic impressed me
4. imagination. and feelings i mostly get from songs. i'm inspired by everything...especially being on bus journeys...but usually those inspiration doesn't translate to fics but rather, poems, if any. my fic inspirations are mostly from imagination n songs. i probly don't write that many AU..or...idk..
5. any common theme done good is worth a read. any impressive theme done badly still wouldn't win me.
well...if i can ask something...is the characters/the celebrities who are used as the characters important in determining whether or not you give a fanfic a try?

It's depend I think. But I love stories where their feeling deeply written. I love au stories, boring with kingka or queenka stuff. I will upvote the stories if they could moved my heart to do so and actually quite a silent reader only occasionally comment. I have written two stories with slow development but my insipiration always come when I read other stories or reading manga. Like wanna write this kind of theme but with different plot. Sometimes when I read I kind of imagine hmm this suit woohyun for example or Myungsoo. Although this kind of come up frequently I never write it cause it won't be my original work then. I wanna write or read some physiological stories like self harm, child abuse, eating disorder, those kind of social problems. Truthfully I myself never encountered or have problems that driven to those corners nor I have friends who ever resorted to do that. Sometimes I wonder isn't it hurt, cutting yourselves? Why people hurt themselves? Is the reality hurt too much for them? Why people strive for perfection? Why loneliness keep gnawing at me even I have around my friends or family? I think I always asking stuff like that to myself and my friends. No matter how much I’ve read I never understand. Gosh. I’ve babbled too much.

I love reading detailed stories but not tooo damn long or bore detailing. I enjoy characters in different personalities not the same as they really are. I definitely up vote it.. but lacks in karma points...tbvh I regret not commenting or subscribing to some good stories i've read bcuz I just started my first ever story and litrelaly struggling.. I feel the writers or authors now and from now on I'm trying my best to write feedbacks or comments on the stories I read and enjoy because I know the authors are really excited about feedback and comments :) sorry for being a silent reader..i regret

(YOURE WELCOME) When i read a fic I usually like it best when you see a characters personality through actions. I like the kinda stories with things implied- theyre just alot more fun when you get to re read them and realize things you never did. Idk any themes i could suggest- since you always write things i never think of!
a question for you: what's your favorite au's??
