*black nut voice* say song mino ! !

I apologize in advance for my lack of writing skills ;-; now say song mino !! song mino!!

i wrote the whole thing in past tense ? ? why ?? ? ?

“Headphones in, world out” or at least the daily hustle and bustle of the city. The sounds of crying children and overworked business men wasn’t exactly the most appealing to you. Why settle for an earful of unnecessary noise when you could simply tune it all out AND enjoy yourself?

Okay, maybe that wasn’t the only reason why you had your headphones in. As much as you would have loved to relax on the bus- that wasn’t going to happen. You were well on your way to meet up with Hyunwoo, a “friend” you had been talking to more often than not recently.  You had spent hours talking through any method possible over the past few months and had finally agreed to take the next step.

It wasn’t like you hadn’t met each other before but this would be the first time meeting up as more than just acquaintances. Just the thought of the date ending with you finalizing the relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend turned your face red and your breathing slightly shallow. However, if Hyunwoo had picked you up for the date you probably would have fainted instead so maybe appearing to be in the middle of transforming into a hyperventilating tomato wasn’t too bad.

It didn’t seem too much like a first date since you weren’t getting picked up at the front door by a shy Hyunwoo carrying a bouquet of flowers but, who were you to judge? He promised he would make up for his lack of a car by paying for the entire date and bringing you home at the end.

The bus came to a halt at the stop nearest to the small café you were to meet at thus pulling you out of a state of nervousness into one of extreme panic. Was your hair okay? How about your clothes? God, this was already turning into a nightmare and you weren’t even at the meeting place yet. You grabbed your small purse, filled with money just in case Hyunwoo bailed on paying, and tried not to let your legs give out on you as you exited the bus.

Even though the café was just a quick two minute walk from the bus stop, it seemed like mere seconds as you found herself pushing open the doors slightly ready to face your doom. Upon entering, you immediately spotted your date staring awkwardly out the window, waiting for you to arrive.

“Just me up” you whispered as you made your way towards the table.

Almost as if he had known you were there all along, Hyunwoo turned to face you as you approached the table.

“Hey, you made it!” Hyunwoo began, “I was close to going outside to look for you!”

“I, uh, missed the bus I had wanted to originally take…Sorry.” you responded, eyes downcast.

After all the hours you had spent talking, suddenly being face to face seemed ten times more difficult than you had thought.

Once the orders were taken, silence took over making it almost impossible for you two to look each other in the face. What a great way to start a date, right?

“So…” Hyunwoo said, trying to start a conversation, but you couldn’t bring yourself to lift your head up and look right into his face.

It wasn’t like Hyunwoo wasn’t a good guy or anything but how does one look directly into the eyes of a guy like him? Especially without making a complete fool out of themselves?

The date rolled on with light conversations and the occasional joke from both sides but nothing really stood out as “interesting” or “THIS IS A ING FIRST DATE WITH THE PERSON YOU HAVE BEEN TALKING TO FOR HOURS ON END AND YOU ARE LITERALLY ONE STEP AWAY FROM DATING” leaving both of them in slightly dampened mood towards the end of the date.

Unable to take the awkwardness between them, Hyunwoo finally took a stand in at least making their date somewhat memorable.

He took a deep breath and reached over the table using his outstretched hand to lift up your chin. If this was going to be an actual date, he had to see your face more than the few times you actually looked up at him.

Your eyes rose to meet his and in that moment, it was as if time had frozen for the two of you. It hadn’t occurred to Hyunwoo that he was sitting in front of someone as precious as you and immediately he regretted letting the small date go to waste.

Your eyes darted away as soon as you got a good look of his face. How come he looked so not flustered while you were on the verge of screaming? He was touching your face for crying out loud!

“You have really nice eyes Vivienne! I wish I could have seen them more often…” he laughed.

Damn, he had noticed your attempts at trying to appear invisible even though you were sitting directly across from him. But in the few times that you had looked him in the eyes or at least at his face, you’d noticed he was way more handsome up close.

“That was a compliment right? Thanks, you’re pretty good looking yourself.” Hyunwoo joked, only to laugh even harder at your puzzled expression.

Yeah, you said that aloud. Right to his face. His beyond attractive ing face. Wonderful.

“W-we should probably head out since we’re done eating and all.” You stammered. There was no way in hell you were going to sit across from him after embarrassing herself.

“Alright alright, anything you say” answered Hyunwoo.

You had your sights set on catching the bus and getting the hell out of the mess you had gotten herself into but Hyunwoo wasn’t thinking the same thing.

Turning to look at you he asked, “Since we have so much time, don’t you want to go out a little bit more and make the most out of today?”

.

He wanted to spend MORE time together? After that mess of a lunch they had too? Just how interested in you was this guy?

“It’s up to you I guess. I didn’t really have anything in mind.” You responded, secretly hoping he would back down and call it a day and let you just go the heck home.

“Maybe we could plan another day to go out and do something fun, like an amusement park or something! You probably have other things to worry about today so let’s just end the day here.” He suggested, understanding how you felt.

Although he would have much preferred to spend the whole day with you, it would obviously take some time before you could be 100% comfortable with one another.

Snapping out of your daze, you realized that their time together was coming to a kind of pathetic end. Your first date with your Mr. Right was a complete failure and you spent more times staring at the chipped wooden table in the café, memorizing its details then you did actually engaging in proper conversation with Hyunwoo and looking at him.

Embarrassed as hell, small tears of frustration built up in your eyes threatening to spill at any second. “Oh hell no.” you thought to yourself. There was no way you were going to cry in front of Hyunwoo, not over something as small as this.

You turned around to face away from him hoping the bus would magically appear and whisk you away before he could see you cry but of course, public transportation never ceases to fail you in your time of need.

Hyunwoo, strangely able to read the mood at any given point, noticed the decrease in your already not so good mood and took your hand in his once more, not tolerating you being upset.

“Hey, hey, hey don’t worry about today. I know it wasn’t exactly the best and maybe we should have gone to the movies but I still had a great time with you today, okay?” he reassured you.

You quickly wiped a stray tear and tried to calm yourself down. He was right, even if the date was kind of ty you still talked a bit and found out more about him and him about you.

The bus chose that moment to finally make its grand appearance, making a deafening screech as it came to a stop right behind you. Oh yeah, he was going to take you home as part of the “date”.

You boarded the bus with him following behind you, feeling even more nervous than before. It would be a fifteen minute ride back to your place which mean a whole fifteen more minutes (maybe more) with Hyunwoo even after the hour and a half you spent at the café. How were you going to up this time?

On the bus you had begun to feel slightly better and mustered up the courage to start up a small conversation on...cats. Yeah, you weren't exactly the best state of mind but you couldn't let another opportunity slip through your fingers.

"I like stray kittens much more than normal house cats. Strays are way cuter." you argued with him, since he seemed to have an obsession with fat house cats and cute puppies. What a loser.

Soon, the fifteen minutes you had previously dreaded were up and the both of you were getting off of the bus. It's strange how talking to him seemed much easier when you were going to part ways soon. Even if your heated discussion of cats didn't make up for the date completely, at least it was going to end on a much better note.

Walking you to your place, you continued pressing your points on why you loved stray kittens and why he should to. The next thing you realized was that you were already at your front door and your somewhat improved date was coming to a close. You were unable to completely comprehend how quickly time seemed to fly when things were honestly improving between the two of you.

"I guess this is where we part ways...I had a great time with you today, even if it was only for a short while." Hyunwoo said. He actually looked slightly sad that you were saying goodbye for a little while, or at least until the next time both of you were free.

"Sorry for not being the best date today, I was a bit nervous. I, um...I'll see you around." you replied, ready to escape inside your house and begin your major freak out session because wow you actually managed to talk to him properly!

Catching you by surprise, Hyunwoo pulled you in a light hug nearly causing you to choke on your own breath. He smelled really nice, like reeeaaalllly nice. Definitely not what you were expecting.

"See you soon!" He mumbled, shocked at his own behavior and slowly reddening face as he quickly walked off to head home as well.

"Smooth." you thought to yourself only to take it back, remembering how you acted in front of him back at the cafe and even on the bus since you seemed to think cats were a good conversation starter.

You entered your house and immediately went straight to your room ready to let loose but before you could your phone vibrated with an incoming text message.

From: Hyunpoop :p

"I forgot to ask if you...wanted to be my girlfriend. oops~ I hope it's not too late to ask you now :)"

Commence the major freak out session.
