Can I get your advice on something?

Alright so I got a question and would really appreciate someone's advice. I'm working on this story and it will be mainly told in 3rd person. And I want to switch between two characters thoughts throughout the story. But one of the characters instead of just switching the pov while still being in 3rd person I was thinking about having his parts in 1rst person? In my head I feel like it would fit. I've been reading things about it and though it isn't common it can be done, and since im only on the second chapter I don't think it would be so off putting for my readers? I'd really like some feedback on this cause Im kinda stuck. I have the next chapter layed out but it's just the pov I'm not sure about. I'm really considering switching it around to first just when its his part because there is also something with his character that makes it necessary to be in first, idk please help!!!

Also if your one of my readers please let me know your opinion that would really help to lol

Switching from third to first is often jarring and not seen in regular literature but a work around many authors use is the will use third person exclusively from a characters point of view, it allows you to transition easier back into the other chacters if you want. Ex of first "i thought the other boy looked upset but wasnt sure from his face,". Same sentence for 3rd "he thought the other boy looked upset but couldnt tell from his face" tgats singular third person but then Later you could write "he didnt know what was happenig and the other boy really didnt care to help him" this switches to both characters feelings being expressed. I've even had a character do a dream sequence useing 3rd person so its not as limiting as you think.

When i'm reading a story i like it the best when it's on 3 rd POV, but since the character's thoughts also matter, i
like it when the author makes one whole chapter for that characters POV, since jumping between POV's in one chapter is a lil bit to much and it gets kinda awkward. If there's that one thought or a couple of thoughts the character has and you're on 3 POV and but they're really important for the developing of the story writting them in some italics is just fine

Hmmm. Switching povs is hard to do smoothly. I tend to stick with third person/omniscient so that I can tell the reader what happens. I add in thoughts in italics when necessary. Personally, I'm a fan of sticking to one pov. You can swap from character to character (with some notice), but I would suggest starting and finish in 3rd. Or just 1st the whole way through.

third person omniscient is when you know everyone's thoughts and feelings so it's like the first person of third person

if you think you can show more through 1st pov, do it. but i think jumping between two point of views with 3rd person narrative works just fine.
