Airplane Exhaust

-

Sleeping thunder amidst boiling rain, 
the hours blend into one blurry stream
like the remnants of airplane exhaust on a clear winter day
ambling at a pace so slowly
that I hear my heart stopping in my ribcage.
Only then can I see everything fall apart slowly 
crumbling like sands dropping from an hourglass
or ink diffusing through clear waters,
tinting gray silks that billow through clarity.

then convince yourself that it’s alright
