I Don't Understand
Hello, it's me Melena/Eve/Ai. I don't want to talk much, so I'll just go straight to the point.
I don't understand why featured stories these days are... well, I don't know how to put it in words. But you see, I've been somewhat dissatisfied with them. Yes, I'm still a beginner and my writings aren't all that great. However, I can definitely tell which ones are good and which ones are not because I am also a reader. First things first, I am not here to blame anyone, neither the readers nor the authors. They have the right to write and choose what kind of stories they want. I'm here to voice out my thoughts and frustration about this matter.
But honestly, haven't they realized that the plots, the characters, and other elements are all almost identical to each story they read? I know some are different, and they deserved to be featured. Most of them, though, are not (no offense, and it's only my opinion. don't take anything to heart). What I mean is that, the stories are too cliche. Cliche is fine to me, and of course, it is something that makes a story, a story. But still, there is always a limit to everything. There are so many good stories out there with unique and original plotlines that deserved attention, yet people choose to read stories with fluff/cliche plotline or anything similar in them, even when the flaws are too obvious to be left unnoticed. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.
I know every author put efforts in writing, but it is grossly unfair to those who've better writing but not be chosen just because people do not upvote his/her story.
Also, have any of you realized that 'angst' and 'tragedy' stories do not gain as much attention as 'fluff' stories? People prefer lighter genres, slice of life for example, instead of heavy ones. Peolpe do not like to read stories with what reality has lined out. They tend to run from painful truth, thus, fluff and stories with happy ending have always been a good choice for them. The funny thing is that the stories are sometimes too illogical, too immatured and just too annoying. I'm not pointing this to anyone, really. Again, I don't have the intention to blame any of us. I'm just so so tired of this.
Okay, I'm done. I'm Sorry.
