→ the embodiment of serenity and demurity, sora is not one to lose her cool easily. it's as if she doesn't have a fuse, but that's obviously not possible, because as patient as she is, sora does have her limits. her personality is mostly founded on the way she was raised, which strongly emphasized patience and putting others before herself. it's easy to see and experience for yourself sora's qualities, but her flaws are much harder to spot, although it's definitely there.
→ sora can't handle stress well. whenever she's in a pressurizing situation, she forgets everything that she's been taught and goes into an inward frenzy. when that happens, you can't count on her to be collected and calm. she's antsy, easily provoked, and though she doesn't lash out at people directly, she relieves her irritation through more subtle ways. the best way to describe her would be passive-agressive, the style of anger-release that people detest the most, basically. you'd wish she could just say it flat out, but that'll never happen, and that's what is so aggravating about her.

→ sora is very in touch with her emotions. she feels too much, and naturally thinks too much as well. this causes her to be very jittery and vulnerable to otherwise lighthearted jabs by her friends and members. she knows she can't handle jokes very well, but hides it whenever she feels offended by teasings because she doesn't want her members to find her unfriendly or learn that she is, in all actuality, a very petty person. her being easily affected by her emotions leads her to being indecisive. with how humble and patient she is on average, it's surprising to hear that sora is definitely not leader material. as mentioned before, she can't deal with stress, and can't make decisons because she's afraid of commitment. more importantly, she doesn't want to bear the blame when things go wrong, and feels more comfortable letting someone else handle the mess. in other words, sora can be irresponsible in this aspect.
→ all in all, sora is good in nature. she's always trying her best and is sincere in her speech and actions. but the way she was raised had an adverse effect on her, and that is she's afraid of letting her flaws show. she believes that she shouldn't be possessing such negative traits and is determined to conceal it. her good side is very exemplary, like textbook material, but her bad side is really terrible. there is no moderation in a person like sora; she is two polar opposites melted into one. right now, what sora needs is assurance, that it's okay to be less than perfect, that it's okay to be human.
background – sora was raised on jeju island in a slightly more conservative family. her parents were heavy on confucianism, which raised sora and her brother on the path of righteousness, benelovence, fiilal piety and loyalty. though the family was built on strict moral codes, the children were not restricted in what they wanted to do as long as it conformed to the family's beliefs.
having traveled to the mainland quite often for competitions and recitals, sora is slightly more familiar with seoul than her brother, who only left the island to pursue his veterinary degree. while on one of her many visits to seoul with her mother, sora was approached by a talent scout working for the famous s.m. entertainment. being thirteen then, sora was undoubtedly curious and expressed her desire to try. her parents did not object, or rather, couldn't, what with the full-fledged support of her grandmother, who was still alive then.
after auditioning relying on her violin skills, subpar vocals and haphazard movements she called dancing, even sora admitted that she was mostly accepted into the company for her looks. it seemed rather vain to think so, but if you compared that to her performance, then it was the only logical explanation. her parents saw her acceptance into the infamously superficial and materialistic world of showbiz as an opportunity for sora to show a good example of confucianism, and hence supported her. they constantly reminded her to never forget her principles and spread goodwill to those around her.
she was trained extremely intensively at s.m., where most of her current skills where nurtured. all her skills were trained out at s.m. and big hit, the most prominent being her rapping. though it was extremely stressful, sora was grateful for being taught well in her performances. but this gratitude couldn't last her long, for she ended up quitting due to high amounts of stress, homesickness, poor grades and the death of her grandmother. after taking a break for three months, she was encouraged by her friends at s.m. not to give up, and sora ended up trying out for a few smaller companies where she hoped wouldn't be so competitive and pressurizing. in the end, she scored a place in big hit entertainment, and stayed because she found the atmosphere there much better, and because of the bonds she formed with the trainees.

relationship – when sora was still in s.m., the pair were known for being extremely close to the point whereby people would often mistake them for a couple. whether there were actual romantic feelings involved, only the two of them knew. but at that point in time, they were just close friends. currently, the pair still keep in contact evey day and would talk on the phone if time allowed. there is a certain tension whenever they're with each other, the way yuta's hands linger on her shoulders, and sora's gaze never straying away from him too long. but they are, unfortunately, still just "friends."
first meeting – they met when sora was introduced to the existing trainee batch along with her fellow newly-accepted trainees back in 2010. there wasn't much opportunity for yuta and sora to bond (for females and males were trained separately) until half a year later, when they met in english class. they connected easily because of sora's affinity with the japanese language, thanks to her grandmother, which was what caught yuta's interest in the first place. after establishing their friendship, they would make time to meet each other together with their own groups of friends after or in-between trainings for a meal or just to destress.
interactions – there is nothing special about their interactions, except for the fact that they're both greedy with skinship. it's not done on purpose though, because they'd get chewed out by the adults at the company for getting "romantically invovled" with another trainee. to them, skinship comes naturally in subtle manners. sora finds it easy to lean on his arm or shoulder, and yuta's arm naturally finds its way around her shoulders, or sometimes her waist when they're crossing the road.
they care for each other down to the tiniest details. it's to the point whereby they can be completely aware of the other's schedule yet oblivious to their own. though it's not exactly a good thing, it works out well for them. the pair have a quiet yet unbreakable chemistry despite only knowing each other for a few years. they can understand the other's wants and needs without that much exchange of words, and they are each other's natural energizer. it doesn't matter how much of a ty day they've been having on their own, once they are in each other's presence, or simply hear the other's voice, all the unhappiness dissolves and they are able to bring out their most genuine smiles.
to summarize, yuta and sora are just identical gears that mesh well with the other. they move in unison and rarely ever have conflicts. in the case where they do have a small spat, it is always resolved quickly and effortlessly with a sincere apology and hearty laughter. they are more concerned with the other than they are for themselves, and want nothing but the best for them.
conclusion – with not much opportunity to meet now that they are in separate agencies, there is only so much the both of them can do in regards to making "progress" in their relationship. none of them have ever seriously hoped that they would end up a couple, although the idea did seem pleasant. with their slowly diverging paths, the two will naturally meet other people and find that whatever "romantic" feelings they had for the other is not as strong as they thought. aka, they grow up and grow apart in terms of romance, but their friendship still stands strong. their time as "company couple" will become something they look back on and laugh over.
