Freedom
Today is a historic day in the US. Today everyone is free to marry the love of their life regardless of ual orientation.
I just wanted to share my joy and sorrow of this moment. I am 35 yrs old and have waited so long for this moment. This came to late for me as my partner of 8 yrs passed away last year before we could be joined in marriage. We always called each other WIFE but only to ourselves and we're not recognized by others. Our daughter was always shunned because her "dad" was a woman. Not once has she been ashamed of it. She is to say "Yes my dad is a girl!"
My daughter who is now 11 celebrated with me today on a day that has long been waiting. This day is a huge step on a long road toward equality.
Thank you for reading.
