SM Ent. Invite to Audition? [Closed?]

*Thanks every one for giving your take on this weirdness. My mind is now at ease again. ^^  I hereby conclude that this is either an email mistake or some kind of new marketing technique by SM Ent.~ June 24, 2015  & NO, I'm not going to the audition (if it's a PD type of position, I'll consider).

At this point in my life, I'm really weirded out...and it's not something that I can post on my regular blog either because it's a bit embarrassing.  O__O  lol been trying to keep my blog somewhat squeaky clean in case potential employers have ways of finding me out.

Well, there's the scoop:  since I got nothing better to do last year, I went ahead and audition for the 2014 SM Global audition.  Despite that I have no regrets with my out-of-tune performance, but I was still pretty embarrassed and felt somewhat guilty trying to hide my age (I'm in my twenties, not hiding on the paper form though) because all the all the auditionees were very, very young.  In fact, when I was at the door of the audition place, I mentioned that I was here for the audition, one of the staff was like:  "You too?!"  Seriously, he said that as if I have committed a sin.  Hey, to be perfectly honestly, I actually look younger than my age (but maybe lacked sleep at that time), but that was a totally unneccessary stab to my heart.  I supposed it was easy to give it away when all the other auditionees were way younger than me.

Anyways, here's the weird part.  I just received an email from the SM Global Canada audition last night, asking me to participate in this year's audition.  I didn't even plan to audition at all this year (in fact, I didn't even sign up for it this year).  In fact, I was pretty much done with the audition phase of my life and want to move on to make some real money with a real job (so that I can travel, and blah blah blah).  Here's the exact (copied & pasted) content of the email (from 2015 canada @ smtown. com - I put in the space just to bypass the system a bit....and I checked everything and it seemed legit):

2015 S.M. GLOBAL AUDITION 캐나다에서 오디션이 개최 됩니다. 많은 관심과 참여 부탁 드립니다.

2015 S.M. GLOBAL AUDITION will be held in Canada. We hope you can come and participate for the audition.

감사합니다.

Thank you.

Er...lol?  Do they want me to go through that experience again (which to be perfectly honest, I've brought onto myself the first time)?  When I told my mom about it, she just said go and try it out because it's free anyways, and also that I can use their training system in case I ever pass to make myself more likeable.  Okay, geez, thanks mom.  @____@  I believe that I'm quite well-liked enough amongst my friends.

So, to give my mind some peace and quiet...is this SM Ent.'s new marketing technique to get more people to go to their audition in order to create more hypes about their next big thing?  Oh, I know perfectly well that my chance of making it is slim, but I do have some (but very limited) spending money (since I'm in my twenties).  So, are they after my spending money??  Who's their next big thing?  Most importantly, I want to ask:  did anyone here in Canada received the same email?  I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one, but I can't seem to find out about it over the internet.  I was so sure that people would boast about it by now.  But no one did, and so I remained restless, wondering just what goes on in SM Ent's mind when they sent me that email.  So, little enlightenment here for those who read this blog post?  Many thanks in advance!!

I have very mixed feelings when I hear that people are auditioning... some of my friends have actually auditioned for SM before but they didn't get in... I've heard that idol life really wears you down and it changes people (for the better or worse? O.o) and it's so stressful and I don't know... it's not something I would ever want to go through myself and I wouldn't ever try because I seriously can't sing or dance LOL
but it's your choice and if that's what you want and you decide to do it, then go for it XD and good luck XD

I want to know...do you have to go all the way to Canada for the audition? Like how much does it actually cost? Do you know? I'm from United States, and I would I like to try it out somehow. Do we have to be there in person for the audition or can we just send them the video or something?
