— Joyonghanri ; when she was living in the streets people knew her as the girl who didn't speak, due to her inability to utter words. she just can't speak no matter what she does. She only writes using a pen and paper she would pick up in the streets, people just had to give her a nickname "Joyonghanri" a wordplay for the words Joyonghan(silent) and her name Mari
— Cindermari ; Right After she was introduced to everybody as part of the Selection and knowing that she was of the 8th caste everyone had concluded that she had a cinderella story from the cinders to the Palace and even if she won't triumph in the end she was upgraded into the 3rd caste she didn't have to sleep in the streets or near the fireplace of the Bakery she always shelters in from the rain anymore and sleep among the Cinders. She now had a place of her own in the district of the 3rd caste. It was still a Cinderella Story.

FASHION STYLE ☆ when she was an 8th caste member she would only wear  shirt,sweatpants and slippers, until now her style preference hasn't changed a lot she would still prefer wearing a simple shirt, jeans or sneakers. But being a selection candidate and future princess of the kingdom (if prince jungkook will ask her to marry him) she was forced to wear clothes she never thought of wearing, like the disposable ball gown she wore on the first event of the selection were everyone was introduced to each other, it was made out of red roses. She looked like a Flower goddess that time and they knew it was made for her no one else could pull off that look. Somehow her stylist loves to make her wear Red, it was always red on events. She realized when the prince himself told her that it was secretely his favorite color no one knows that (but the stylist somehow had pyschic powers)
On Normal days her style is pretty much comfort over being fashionable...her stylist would just tell everyone that Mari prefers urban street fashion just to label her seemingly simple fashion taste.
APPEARANCE ☆  Current hairstyle is her long straight hair that she never had anyone cut it to a different style it has always been that way, even the hairstylist agree that no one should touch her hair because it was already very beautiful on it's own, they would only trim it to maintain it's beauty, her hair color is  obviously still naturally chocolate brown.

She has a scar on her forehead after having an accident that made her loose her memories and turned her into a homeless kid, She smiles with her eyes. Her cheeks are naturally rosy people would think that she is wearing blush on but she's not. She does not have extra piercings except her normal piercings, she has no tattoos too.


She stands tall at 172cm and is underweight around 47kg.

Mari is a girl who doesn't speak, because she realy can't she had selective mutism. Even after regaining back her ability to speak more or less she is still very much a really silent girl.Her silence is absolutely very comforting for a lot of people because in the end she becomes a great listener because of her silence, if you need someone to talk to she will lend you an ear. Although most of the time she tends to be a little too awkward around other people.

She is a timid girl who is uncomfortable to be around a lot of people, specially with people she does not know that's why during the first time everyone in the selection were together, she was just standing quietly in one corner, she prefers to be alone because being around others make her uneasy.


Mari is also the kind of person who doesn't like to brag about her achievements, specially on how far she has achieved in the competition, and when everyone knew about the secret of her birth, that she is actually not an 8th caste at all. She remained simple and unbragging. Mari is really that type of person who doesn't really acknowledge her true capabilities. She needs people to encourage her sometimes because she doesn't really think highly of herself. Often times she would really think that she is really just someone beneath others. She makes other people as her top priority and in a result she neglects herself.

Her laid back and easy going self is really obvious too, She always remains calm when others are already freaking out in worry. She can also easily adapt to whatever situation you put her in, she has experience difficulties in life that made her learn how to be easy-going in every situation she's in even if they are the hardest situations to deal with.

Mari has always been progressive even when she was still on the streets, She absolutely is agaisnt the Caste System of the kingdom, she wants changes in the government, reforms to happen. She knew that there are many aspects that are getting affected because of that kind of system. Specially to people psychologically, she was a victim herself to the consequences of having this flawed system. 

Mari also is a very benevolet and soft-hearted person, before the selection when she was hungry herself the extra bread that the bakery she worked in that they gave her will be given by her to other people in the 8th caste who experienced far worse than what she has experienced. She is the type of person who cannot resist anyone who is in need. She is very soft-hearted and will try to help others with all that she can without expecting anything in return. She could even sacrifice her own happiness for the happiness of others.


She has one trait that is really difficult to deal with, she absolutely has a hard time making decisions, in a lot of matters in life. She canot decide for herself. People have to make her make a decision. She really needs people who will not take advantage of her, because most of the time if she asks people to help her make her decisions, she would end up going to the wrong path and end up getting hurt.

BACKGROUND ☆ 

who am i? In 2012 Mari woke up in an unfamiliar house, she had an injury on her right leg. she couldn't remember her past, heck she couldn't even remember her own name. But worst of all, she lost the ability to speak.A man named Kwangsoo approached her and gave her a gold heart-shaped locket, on it's exterior were the words "Choi Mari 3.20.95" engraved on it. They believed that it was her name and birthday. It wasn't enough to know her true identity and background. There was supposed to be a photo inside but it seems liked it was taken out, Kwangsoo found it on the ground open beside the unconscious Mari. Kwangsoo was only passing by in that area, there was a rebel attack. There were people dead, there were people who were injured. Mari was in luck to be found. She was the only one in that area. In order to communicate Kwangsoo gave her a pen and paper.

Kwangsoo brought her home and nursed her back to health, She owed him her life. But she didn't want to be a burden to him (he was struggling himself as part of the 7th caste) she left his house after she recovered from her injury. She began to live on the streets, she learned how to take shelter on different buildings just to get out of the rain, she begged just to get food to eat..She did it on a span of a year in 2013 Joongki, the owner of the bakery noticed Mari watching the display on his shop's window. She was hungry,tired but she looked like she was in love with the pastries and actually wants to make them herself. He noticed how she observes him making his breads. He was a kind man, he decided to take her in., specially after hearing from his gardener Kwangsoo, how he found Mari. She was an amnesiac but worst of all she was mute. Joongki allowed her to sleep on his store and work there, even if he tells her that it was better for her to stay in his house, she didn't want him to get in trouble. She had no identity,nor papers if the authorities would know he took in an 8th he would be penalize,even placed into jail. She decided to stay on the streets, in daylight she would work in his bakery and make pastries, cakes and breads. She would only sleep there if it rains, she even sleeps near the cinders.


There was a boy who always stood up for Mari everytime the neighborhood kids tried to make fun of her, he was Im Jaebum a boy from the 3rd caste, he was a student but he was born from a family of lawyers.He was pretty popular in the neighborhood, because he was a 3rd casted boy who buys in Joongki's bakery in a district for the lower casted 5th caste. He really loved her bake goods, he also willingy kept her identity a secret, apparently no one knows in that district that she actually works in the Bakery since she is still sleeping on the streets. Even if she won't speak and only communicated with a pen and paper. Jaebum became her first friend who was the same age as her, and it helped her greatly since she was was always distressful being someone who cannot speak and cannot recall her memories. Jaebum was a big help to her.

I will find myself It was almost 2014 when the news about the Selection coming in, it was open to all maidens. They would just submit their applications to the local district head. Mari never really took interest in that, she actually hated it. The palace is spending on that useless affair while they allow their citizens to go hungry and suffer in their state of being low casted. It all change when she met a boy who got lost in their district. 

Han Yian, he suddenly hugged her and it seemed like he knew her. She was scared, Jaebum had to push Yian away. Yian appologized for a mistaken identity,She didn't even speak to him. he gave her a remark that change her views about The selection. "if only there was a way she could be seen on television...or any social media. Then we would finally find her" Yian said before he left. Mari remembered that the Selection is aired and televised, she knew it was the only way for her to be found by her family, and true enough she decided to send an application. For the first time in her life she was more than sure about something, without waiting for others to make a decision for her.

She didn't care if she would win a princes heart. What is most important for her is to be Found.

Vernon is just a half-brother of Mari. But she treated him well without any second thoughts, it was also true for Vernon.

— father, Daniel Jinhyuk Choi☆ 43 ☆ actor ☆ lazy,reserved, ☆ daniel is very close to his children, the fact that they don't have their mothers with them (because they somehow left him with their child and fled off somewhere) He is a kind of person who doesn't really show his emotions, he acts like he is okay but he is already dying on the inside but this tendency of his to wear a mask is the reason why his son became a problematic child. He always blame himself why Mari went missing, he feels like a failure as father. This results to him being an alcoholic and sleeping with different females just to relieve himself, that's how he met the Actress UEE. But as if one cue the selection candidates came into view and their is his daughter on television, vying to become a princess of the country. He confirmed that it was really his daughter Mari in the middle of the competition when she was seen wearing his gift to her during her birthday (the day of the attack)

FRIENDS ☆ 

— the one who took me in, Song Joongki ☆ 29☆ owner of a bakery☆ kind,meticulous,mysterious ☆ in his bakery ☆ He acts like he is Mari's father,seeing himself in Mari he didn't hesitate and take her in his bakery. it's still a mystery why someone who is high-casted like him would help someone from the lowest caste. There is a secret to his birth, he is also adopted and no one knows his real background. People are also very curious why someone like him would conduct a business in a low casted neighborhood.
— i owe him my life, Lee Kwangsoo ☆ 30 ☆ gardener☆ funny,go-with-the-flow,understanding ☆ when he found her unconcious body ☆ Kwangsoo is Mari's savior, she owes him her life. Kwangsoo is the kind of person who wouldn't want anything in return he is just happy to be able to save a life, someone who is low casted like him doing something more than what a rich man could do is enough for him. He also lets Mari do what she wants with herself, he respects her choices, but he never fails to make her laugh and check up on her like an older brother would do.

— who are you?, Han Yian ☆ 21 ☆ model/university student taking performing arts ☆ persistent,stubborn,fearless ☆ since they were children in the 2nd district☆ Yian never gave up on Mari after seeing her again after so long, he is very persistant but he allowed her to do whatever she was doing in that shabby place because she was shining really brightly when she was making pastries, she looked like she was having really fun. when they were children. Both Yian and Mari are like two peas in a pod, both of them are always together. Their families are also really close since Yian's parents are also actors. They we're actually arranged to be married since they were babies, it's only up to them if they will make that arrangement true. But that agreement will soon be shredded into pieces when Mari decided to join the selection, and that is yian's biggest regret he never wanted her to join that competition, he meant that it would be good for her to audition as an actress or model for her to be seen on television. Not someone who's going to be a future princess of bangtan.
He is her fiance but seeing herglow everytime she's with Prince Jungkook. He knew that his heart might get broken soon. But he knew he was willing to sacrifice anything just for her. He's fearless after all.

Despite their closeness They have a platonic relationship, Jimin also made it clear to Jungkook that if he would choose Mari as his princess it would be like choosing himself (what a lame excuse chimchim your just don't want to to hurt your precious kookie)

JB was Mari's first friend as an amnesiac, JB never left her behind, he even offered her to live in his home and rescue her from the streets. JB fell for Mari along the way, He is currently devastated right now after seeing Mari make it to the final 7 in the selection. He plans to take the civil service exams in the future and possibly woe Mari and get her out of the palace, it was a selfish cause and this was a prince he was going against. It was his greatest regret why he didn't confess to her when he could without anyone hindering him in the past.

But now that Mari is back Daniel has no more reasons to see him, she got dumped and she was a struggling actress, her caste was about to drop again on the 4th. She needed someone to marry to retain her status as a 2nd caste, she needed Daniel but Daniel doesn't.
