appearance » She has long straight dark brown hair but she likes to have them curled at the ends most of the times. She stands tall at around 163 cm without any insoles nor heels. She has a quite fair skin, and a two moles - one located at her left hand and another located at her collarbone area. She has dimples that appears when she smiles brightly. style » Jaera loves to wear girly but comfy clothings that she gets inspired after looking through tumblr photos. She would usually wear a pair of denim shorts or pants and sweater if she goes out to do some errands. She doesn't really like to wear shirts with no sleeves or tanktops, they make her feel uncomfortable. She prefers wearing shorts than skirts because who knows when the wind comes? She doesn't really like to wear dresses because she reckons that they are not comfortable to wear and remove, and who would have the time to change out of it if they are dead tired? " Oh come on, everyone knows you like her, stop denying~"  Jaera can tease anyone , let me repeat - anyone. She is quite playful, and when she gets the chance, she starts to tease others. Her brother complains about her teasing him about him having a crush on the pretty girl living across the street and her sister complains about her teasing her about liking EXO's Baekhyun. Oooh, celebrity crush.

 

" What is so scary about this movie? It's just a doll that looks weird only." Jaera doesn't get scared easily - she can watch Chucky or Annabelle without throwing her popcorn everywhere and screaming. She calls them weird dolls that scares people in the movies. She can sit through the movie with a bored expression and walk out of the cinema complaining about how boring the movie was while her friends are shivering in fright.

 

" YAH! I JUST CLEANED THE HOUSE! " Jaera is a cleaniness freak - she hates messy places or rooms which is why she cleans her room everyday, even when she's dead tired after a long day. She can't sleep while knowing the place is messy, it makes her feels uncomfortable and irritated.

 

" Wait what? That wasn't chicken you gave me?" Jaera can be quite gullible - she trusts what anyone says only if they don't wear a mask, a cap and sunglasses while saying that they have candies in their car. Her friends have all successfully tricked her with the same tricks again and again and so has her siblings.

 

" I want to eat chicken. No wait, I feel like eating chinese food now."  Jaera can be quite inconsistent in what she does or says. She can't decide what she wants to do and changes her mind faster than she can change her clothes.  My friends get frustated when they ask what she wants to eat or do because one second she's craving fo

 

" Stop playing around, Dad is sleeping and he hasn't sleep for days." Jaera may be the middle child in her family but she is quite sensible, knowing how to care for the sleep-deprived father. She knows what is wrong and what is right to do.

 

" No, just no. This is not acceptable, it's not what I expect. " Jaera is very fussy and she expects things to be as what she expects, up to her standards. She can be quite fussy with her food for example - no this no that. It's hard to eat with her when she's always picking out the things she dislikes and don't feel like eating. She tends to correct other's mistakes, which they would hate alot if they didn't knew her well.

background » At around 10pm in a private hospital located in Seoul, a baby girl was born. Her parents named her Kim Jaera , a name that the girl's mother had been dreaming of naming her child as. The girl grew up happily, running around in their apartment located at the outskirts of Seoul where  there was peace and tranquility. Her father,  Myungsuk, works for a international-based company while her mother, Jisook, works as a fashion designer for a small company.  When she turned 7,  her father suddenly announced that they had to move to  Singapore because he had to take care of a branch that his company had planned to open there.

 

It took Jaera months to adjust to the new environment and make new friends. Mainly because she did not know how to speak English and was unable to communicate with them well. Her father hired an tutor to teach her and slowly, she learned how to speak the language but there was another problem - she had to learn how to speak and write in the complicated language of Chinese. Her classmates all treated her quite well, other than those mean kids every class has, they taught her everything she needed to learn and made her feel like she was at home.  Students were required to take clubs for their after school activites and Jaera chose to be in the drama club and the dance club, being part of the 1% of the whole school population which takes two clubs. It was quite stressful to manage the two clubs but fortunately drama club was on Mondays while Dance club was on the Tuesdays and Fridays, giving her time to finish her work and prepare  for the clubs activities. Being in the two clubs gave her alot of knowledge and chances to show her talent. She appeared on local television dramas, acting as either the lead role's child or as the younger version of them. She was also given the chance to dance in front of the whole school with her club members and at competitions, making her feel more confident about herself.

 

But that was also the time where her parents started to argue alot - her mother had to quit her job for her father's job and it got all complicated that Jaera spent nights sleeping next to her mother while her father slept in her brother's room after a huge fight. They finally moved back to Korea after the company's branch in Singapore stabalized and Jaera thought everything would be alright - her mother could start working again and there would never be any more fights. But she was wrong.  Her parents filed for divorce beacause they didn't think that they love each other any more and being together would only make things worst. Her mother moved away, living in a apartment near their house and she frequently visits the children.  Jaera enrolled in Seoul School of Performing Arts because she found out that it was one of the schools that specialises in the performing arts field and not only focuses on the studies.

 

She was shopping with her sister in Myeongdong, a place where many idols were once scouted before, for clothes that they had to wear for a friend's formal party when a scouting agent from SM came up to her. She thought of running away at the sight of weird stranger approaching her but something in her told her not to do so.  The lady asked if she wanted to be a trainee in SM and debut as one of the company's future idols in the upcoming years but Jaera said that she doesn't have the confidence to do so anymore. She gave Jaera time to consider and during that period of time, everyone encouraged and supported her, saying that she should accept the offer because they knew that the latter was talented. Finally, she accepted to being a trainee at SM and spent 4 years and 2 months there, training hard because she knew that her hardwork would pay off one day as the saying goes, " you reap what you sow. "  She finally made it.

 

family »  Her family consists of a elder brother , a sister and her parents.

 

KIM JAEMYUNG | AGE 21 | He is Jaera's elder brother - born on the 20th of January.  He is a reliable and responsible brother, but sometimes he is just too lazy to do his duties as a eldest child of the family.

 

KIM JIHYO | AGE 19 | She is Jaera's younger sister - born on the 5th of August. She is a very playful sister, having pranked Jaera by putting a pail of water above the door before she entered the bathroom.  She loves to hear her sister sing and see her dance. She dreams of  becoming someone like Jaera,  but she knows that she is not talented in the performing arts field.

 

KANG JISOOK | AGE 42 | She is Jaera's mother - born on the 4th of November. She is a very caring but strict mother, she expects the children to follow the house rules she set and knows what is wrong and what is right to do.

 

KIM MYUNGSUK | AGE 44 | He is Jaera's father - born on the 15th of May. He is a very supportive father, having supported his children to do whatever they want only if its the right thing to do.  He is a very busy man, having felt guilty occasionally for not being able to take care of the children well and leaving JaeMyung or Jaera to take care of the family after his divorce with his wife.

YOO CHANGHYUN / RICKY | Age 20 |  Ricky is Jaera's seatmate, having been in the same class for a few years. They are close with each other,  but has hardly met up for meals since his debut in a group called Teen Top.  He has helped Jaera in catching up with the Korean education system and Jaera is very grateful to him for helping her.

 

Oh Jieun | AGE 21 | Jieun is Jaera's next door neighbour. Having known each other eversince Jaera moved back to Korea, she can say that they are quite close together. They would go over to each other houses where Jieun would teach her how to do her homework while Jaera teaches her how to dance, which ends up in a pillow fight after Jaera teases her about her stiff body that is as stiff as TOP,a member of the famous BIGBANG group, whom concidentally is her bias. Jieun is a quite hyper at times, insensitive to others' feelings. She once said to Jaera that she can't sing well and they ended up not talking to each other for quite a long time.

 

Kwon ShinHye | Age 19 |  Jaera describes Shinhye as a easily jealous and arrogant person. Shin Hye hates Jaera for being chosen as the one to represent the club or school in competitions and not here. Jaera doesn't even know why she hates her so much but after one incident where ShinHye insulted her family, she just had enough of ignoring Shin Hye and they started to fight over practically everything.  What's worse is that Shin Hye is also a trainee in SM.

Joohyuk is very protective of Jaera and both his and her younger sisters, he forbids them from hanging out with guys even though he is one.  He is afraid that they would get hurt or anything if they go out with guys he is not close with and it irritates Jaera's sister alot especially since the latter liked to go with her friends which included a few guys.

 

" Hurry up I have been waiting for five minutes already! " Joohyuk is a very impatient guy - he can't stand waiting that's why when Jaera meets up with him she has to be there earlier.  He gets slightly angry whenever people are late or slow. He just can't stand waiting.

 

" S-Sir, I forgot to  do my homework." Joohyuk is very responsible in what he does. He doesn't like to trouble others to help him to finish his task. He feels that if he doesn't finish his tasks on time, he is in fact troubling someone else and he doesn't like to do so.

 

" Please, my abs look better than him. "  Joohyuk can be quite jealous at times, he hates it when people that he cares for alot compliments others and not him, making him feel small and pissed that he doesn't mean alot to them when he cares alot for them

 

"A-Are you okay?" He cares for everyone around him, even strangers. He would never walk away after seeing lady sitting at the side of the street, wearing torn clothes . It would be against his conscience to do so - he would leave some money to the lady and come back with a some packed lunch bought from the shops nearby.

HOW THEY MET? -  Jaera had been asked to do a photoshoot for a magazine. When she reached the photoshoot location, she noticed a guy posing in front of the camera, and she was amazed at how serious and professional he had looked.  " Great job, Joohyuk-sshi!" The photographer said, putting his thumb up to praise him. Joohyuk's face turned from serious to cheerful in less than three seconds. He bowed slightly to the photographer and smiled. " Where is the girl model? Is she here yet?" The photographer asked the staff, and one of them pointed to me.  She hurried to the photographer and bowed to him, introducing herself as a trainee of SM with a bright smile. He introduced Joohyuk as her partner for the photoshoot and they had to take some photos together a couple. Their eyes met and she blushed slightly as she shook Joohyuk's hands.

 

She went to prepare - putting on slight makeup and wearing the clothes required for the photoshoot - before she went onto the set as she was briefed on what she was supposed to show in her expressions and do. She felt very nervous and started to play with her fingers. Joohyuk grabbed her hands as soon as the photographer shouted cue. He whispered into her ears slightly ," Don't feel nervous, be natural." He started to slip his hands around her waist, doing a backhug pose.

 

" Great job guys! Especially you Jaera, you were great in expressing yourself, good job for a newbie!" The photography praised her and she bowed, thanking the latter.  She quickly changed out of the clothes and was on her way out of the set where Joohyuk stopped in front of her and said," Hey newbie! Uh, you did well for your first time!" Her face turned red slightly and she thanked him. She tried to move out of the way but he put his phone out and asked for her number, saying that it's a great way for her and him to contact each other in the future and right after she typed her number into the phone, he winked cheekily and walked away, leaving Jaera confused and almost late for her practice.

RELATIONSHIP - A few days later after their photoshoot, Joohyuk invited her out for some coffee and they got quite close although Jaera felt awkward at first because she had never ever hung out with a guy other than her friend Ricky. They started to message each other alot, and slowly Jaera started to develop feelings for Joohyuk, whilst it's still unknown whether Joohyuk likes her back or not. Joohyuk often goes over to her house and is close with her family too - even her mom.  They like him alot and describes him as a nice guy that you can hardly find these days.

 

Joohyuk would message her things like what is she doing and once she said she was drinking bubble tea with Ricky, he got jealous and mad that he went to find Jaera and scolded her for not telling and asking him whether Ricky is safe to go out with even though he knew that Ricky had been Jaera's friend for a few years.
