Having a judge as a father influenced her on becoming a trustworthy person. She wants to live out an exemplary character "one who leads by example", She believes that as you are given roles and responsibilities you need to live your life with intergrity and honesty, you should walk the talk.She believes that you aren't deserving to have those responsibilities unless you possess those qualities.Her father always reminded her that "true authority is born from respect for good character of the person that leads" he always believed that although she wasn't his true daughter she will grow up into being someone who leads, someone who leads not because she can talk well, but also because she has the characteristics to do so. Xin grew up to be honest with everything that she does, even if the truth hurts...but it will set you free.

When she is involved in something she devotes her 100% to it, she wants to inspire other people with her passion and dedication. She is not afraid of rolling up her sleeves and getting dirty, for as long as it inspires other people she is will do it, She loves to motivate other people, specially those who are about to give up she will tell them honestly "IF THEY CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU!" she is also not the type of person who will leave just because you are in the slump, if it's in her power she will help you get up again even if the things you did were wrong. She believes that people can actually change for the better. because Humans although not perfect, were made to be perfect by the hands of the creator. For her everyone of us possess the abilities the rest lies in our choices. That's why her groupmates dubbed her as an absolutele eomma because she really possess motherly characteristics, now that they are going to be idols they rarely go home. But everyone finds a temporary solace of a mother through Xin. She also likes taking care of her dongsaengs in the group, cooking for them,checking how they are, comfortably sharing secrets with them.

She is also really confident, she is not afraid of challenges and doesn't back down she will face them ahead held up high, she is not afraid to talk to people, even those people who may seem to be difficult to handle. She has that unique ability to eventually break down their walls. Xin is a strong girl in times of uncertainties she remains calm and she keeps her head high, being a trainee is already a gamble. But she has learn to keep a poker face and remain calm through this whole endeavor. She doesn't allow emotions to cloud her judgment and she has a cool head often.
Xin is a perfectionist when it's work related and specially with herself she wants to do her best,look her best, and be her best inside. She does it to a point of overworking herself, she often gets sick...but she will go train the next day because that is how stubborn she is on setting a high standarad with herself. How can she set an example and inspire others if she isn't her best? She is quite scary when she is unconciously hungry to become perfect. 
Xin has the habit of having rituals for her self, if not met she becomes uneasy. she is very particular on the order of things...she is calm but when you trigger her obessession for order specially when it comes to her things she is difficult to handle. Even as little a disarranging her things, she will literally go crazy (but in a calm way, she will just look and smile at you evilly) Her mother who is a doctor eventually diagnosed her with Obessive compulsive disorder. 

BACKGROUND

— Bao-Lien and Young-Suk were already 33  years old but still they couldn't conceive a child after 5 years of marriage, Bao-lien was a doctor and Young-suk was a lawyer they were both succesful in their fields but their was still something lacking in their relationship, they wanted a child for so long. One day, they heard a beautiful cry of a baby outside their front door early in the morning of the 28th of August 1993 the couple opened their and saw a beautiful baby girl crying but in such a beautiful manner. Youngsuk tried to find anyone but he found no one, they searched for the baby's parents but they couldn't find any lead. Maybe this was a sign for them...the little girl was a blessing Bao-lien called her "Xin Yin" that means beautiful voice after hearing her first cries. They had put so much effort but after a few months and no one claimed her they legally adopted Song Jin-Ae as her korean name which means "True love" her lawyer father named her because he wants her to grow up with true love...he wants her to be truthful and loving.
True enough the couple gave her unconditional love, they treated her as their own but when she was 3 Bao-lien was able to conceive a child a baby boy Jae-sun and a baby girl Sun-hye but although they had a children from their flesh and blood "xin yin"
was still very much treated like a real daughter, she was young but Xinyin already showing interest in music she sang along to songs from disney films, they knew that their daughter had a talent for music, they decided to enroll her in music lessons at 5 a year after Annie was in production in a famous theatre in Nevada, Xinyin's uncle after hearing her sing immediately casted her into the play, she was one of the youngest cast members.

2000 came and Xinyin became 7, her aunt visited them fresh from Korea, she was young and in love, but in love with 5 men of G.O.D she let Xinyin listen to Lies when the little girl became curious, Xinyin immediately fell inlove to G.O.D..since then her Aunt always let her listen to korean songs when Xinyin says "auntie please let me listen to korea music!" she says with pleading eyes. They all knew that Xinyin interest is now in Korea. 


2007 came and the 14 year old Xinyin became even more fond of kpop, she has been learning kpop dances and dancing in general after enrolling in dance lessons. KPOP was dominated by 2nd generation groups like DBSK, ss501 etc. she loved them and she loved singing to their songs all the more. It was the year when she created her Youtube Channel were she began covering songs specially korean songs...It became popular and actually reached hundred thousands of views. The following year because of her bestfriend's suggestion she joined the 7th season of American Idol, she quit the competition even though she was already in the top 15....it was because of musical diffrences, she loved kpop to much. she left the competition but her youtube channel even got more popular she was even offered a contract by a recording label but she declined because all she wanted to sing was Kpop.

Xinyin was already a popular youtube star all the more after appearing on Niga higa, kev jumba and wongfu production videos. she met then 2pm leader park jaebum 2009 after he returned to the states on exile because of his scandals he was lonely, Xinyin was there for him along with his other circle of friends, Jay Park became like his older brother alongside her other youtube star friends. Jay Park wasn't really bitter about JYP he was sad but not to the point of hating the company he believed that JYP can train stars even though he was in a difficult situation, he suggested that she should audition for the company and without their knowledge JYP held auditions in LAS VEGAS then the following week, she asked Jay if she should...he nodded but she knew that it was painful for him to mention the name JYP.

She actually failed the global auditions, she went to Jay and told him that "See i didn't make it" Jay just simply told her to try again, 2009 was the year her family moved back to South Korea, her father became a judge in Seoul's court and her mother became a head doctor of a newly opened hospital. She was already 16 and she knew the secret to her birth, she didn't hate her parents but instead thank them because of their unconditional love and care...

She enrolled into Def Dance School, she had trained dancing in America But she felt like it wasn't enough, during the showcase of the school an SM scout approached her an asked her if she wants to become an idol, She hesitated at first, she always had eyes for JYP. She called Jay Park, Jay park told her that there is no harm in trying, maybe you were meant to be in SM. So she decided to Audition and she passed.

She spent a year in SM since 2010, but something major happened to her there, she had to leave or else she might fall into depression.
Xin knew that she didn't belong there, her heart always set out for JYP.

17 year old Xinyin wearing a uniform of an American highschool was walking around seoul. She stopped in a building that looked like a cinema but actually wasn't she was just standing in the road for minutes until someone accidentally bumped into her "mian-heyo" he said said in a funny korean accent, she only stared at him while he looks at the building too...she followed him and looked at the JYP building once again "" she said in a loud voice due to the stranger shocking her suddenly "WOAH SLOW DOWN TIGER" he said in english... "WAIT SO YOU UNDERSTAND ME AND WHY THE HELL DID YOU SUDDENLY CAME CLOSE TO MY FACE AND SHOCK THE LIFE OUT OF ME" she said furiously. "calm down Xinyin" he said "you know me?". "of course i do! who doesn't know the famous youtube star xinyin....actually..." he said, pausing and stcratching the back of his head... "i am going to audition for JYP today, because of you..."he said not meeting her eyes. "b-because of me?" she asked him pointing at herself. "well i came to korea because of you, i learned to love kpop because of you...so..."  Xinyin was shocked but happy she almost cried...did she really have that kind of effect to other people? the stranger suddenly took her hand and actually dragged her inside the building "KAJA" he said dragging her inside JYP. "WHAT THE H-" "My name is Mark Tuan i am your biggest fan...and today...is the start of our journey as KPop stars" he said deciding their fate together.

TRAINEE LIFE That day Xinyin was nervous she wasn't even prepared...but she was dragged into JYP by a boy name Mark Tuan, she promised herself to kick his later... but even so Xinyin actually prepared herself and for the second time around she auditioned for JYP. She passed....and Mark Passed. he told her "i knew you can do it!" that was the start if their friendship, they were always fighting but they have gotten to a point in  which they finish each other sentences because one knows the other's thinking. Xinyin struggled in JYP because she was one of the best dancers, but she lacked the grace, she was rather stiff. while practicing at 2am..."*insert continuous profanities in english*". "woah woah...i'm not here to eat you" a voice said in english. He approached her and started to lecture her on her dancing, she was hesitant but he actually made sense, that day a younger boy of a year named Jackson Wang became her own personal dance teacher, along with Mark's guidance in her rapping. both guys who were actually friends became her support in JYP along with Mark's sister Katherine Tuan who knew of Mark's crush on her eversince Jin's American Idol days. they all had the same thing...they were foreigners ought to become KPOP STARS. 2011 she was choosen as a lead actress for UKISS' '0330' since then she became friends with the english speaking members of UKISS after being introduced by Ukiss leader Soohyun who was her friend back in JYP.

2012 came Xinyin was suddenly called by JYP, she was choosen as a cast memer in the 2nd installment of Dream High 2. when she came for the script reading she sat on the sides to hide herself...she saw a senior trainee JB and JR along with other new faces not from JYP, the director suddenly approached her and said "ms song why are you hiding?". "directornim i shouldn't sit there..it's only for the major characters" she said while trying to hide the embarassment in her tone. JB and Jr laughed and so did the other cast members "loosen up on the first day Jin-ah" JB said trying to comfort her, "i think you should read your script "Jr added. She in fact read the script and turned beet red. her role was Rian. and she was not a minor character at all.

Xinyin was casted in Dream High 2 back in 2012 and she was also modelling for the online shop Cherry Koko and doing CF's for Clean and Clear Korea to support her living costs as a trainee only living off in allowance,she didn't want to ask money from her parents. in that year she also stared in Jay Park's "Know Your Name" that actually led to controversies..that almost made her leave in her company once again...why was a JYP trainee doing in a Jay Park Video? Jay Park defended her name and said that, she is my close dongsaeng back in the USA, "Park Jin Young gave her permission to be in my video" he said and commented nothing further, Park Jinyoung indeed gave  a second statement that second what Jay Park has said, making a few hottest angry and some rather happy that one day Jay Park might come back to 2pm. People thought that 2pm might actually hate her but they actually are fine with it...Xinyin wanted them to reconcile, and they actually did secretly. 

the following year, 2013 came when Park Jinyoung suddenly asked her into his office along with other trainees including Kate, she was scared she thought that because of last year's scandal JYP will finally give up on her. but on the contrary to her fears JYP pdnim told the girls that they would debut on 2015. Kate and Jin we're pretty estatic, they already knew that Got7 was already preparing to debut the following year, both of them didn't want to be left behind. In 2014 she was asked to appear in GoT7's Girls Girls Girls and in her good friend Eric Nam's Ooh OOh OOh but she can never forget her dreams comming true when she was asked to ft in GOD's comeback track Story of our lives.


She survived her trainee years because of the special friends she made throughout her journey as a trainee, namely Kate,Jackson and Mark.

Ever since that incident happened, their relationship had never been awkward. They were very close friends. They were very comfortable with each other. Jin tells him about her worries about her future, and he will just be there to listen and comfort her. Jin also urges him to share whatever pent up feelings he had, the worries he had so that she could be his shield too.They are like an open book to each other, she doesn't know however that Mark see's her more than just a bestfriend. That's how Katherine walks in, she always try to push Mark to Jin and even insert her brother's name whenever kate and Jin talk. Jin is still absolutely dense and clueless about Mark's feelings for Jin. It grealty frustrates the people who watch them specially kate, when the both of them are just so sweet with one another, it's so obvious how much they get jealous if another person tries to flirt with the other. The both of them just don't know how to be honest with themsleves and each other.

HISTORY

eversince that day back in 2010, Mark Tuan was always there for Xinyin, Jay Park wasn't the only reason why Xinyin was in JYP...if it was not for Mark, Xin wouldn't have went inside the company but continued to just stare at it outside. Mark and Xinyin became bestfriends they always fought a lot but they are okay the next hour. Mark was always there to protect her from bullies specially when her scandal with Jay Park came out, Mark and Jackson was her support system at the same time personal bodyguards (because she received threats from sasaengs) that accident led to a very awkward situation between Markson and Xin....Xin drank herself drunk for the first time that day, she was so drunk and she was crying....she passed out and incidentally lied on top of Mark, and her lips accidentally brushed Mark's, shocking both Mark and Jackson. Mark doesn't look at Xin the same way again...he became more possessive, jealous...and he always catch himself staring at her lips whenever she speaks.
