People say “hate” is a strong word, but I think “friend” is a stronger one, and it’s one that I think is used too much. The word acquaintance isn’t used much very more, but I think it should be, because I think 80% of the people we would call friends are not, they’re just acquaintances.

A friend isn’t necessarily someone you talk to everyday, and it’s no someone you’re always going to want to talk to, or someone you’re always going to agree with. A friend is the kind of person you can go days, weeks, months, years without talking to, yet when you see them again it’s like no time had passed.

A good friend doesn’t agree with you all the time, or even most of the time. When all your friends agree all of the time, you’re in a cult.

Friends don’t make you happy, but they’re there for you when you’re sad, and ready to embrace happiness with you when you want to be happy. An acquaintance is someone who thinks they have the power to make you happy.

Acquaintances are the kind of people you talk to in Science class, and you like them, and you laugh together but if you met in a year’s time you’d have nothing to talk about. They’re also the kind of person who you sit with every day at lunch but they never ask you how you are unless it’s to fill empty silence.

Please treasure your friends. Acquaintances come and go, but a friend is forever, you can never get rid of them, even if you fight, and swear you’ll never talk again they will haunt your thoughts.

Friends will always be with you even if you don’t want them to be.

Don’t ditch your acquaintances though, a smile in science may not mean much long term, but they make your day run smoother. Acquaintance bashing really isn’t the point of the blog.

My point is you need to recognise which of your acquaintances are your friend, and ing treasure them, and ing don’t let anyone get in your ing way. And ing watch out and don’t ing upset them.

Also side note that’s specifically for this ing website, not being friends with someone because of their fandom is ing stupid. Mocking someone for their fandom is ing stupid. Making fun of that fandom is ing stupid.

Why?

Because people take fandoms like their ing religion.

Would you not be friends with someone because of their religion?

Would you mock someone’s religion?

Would you make fun of someone’s religion?

If yes, you’re ing trash.

If no, don’t do it to someone’s fandom or you are ing trash.  

Free speech is important around friends, but true speech and hate speech keep getting ing mixed up at the moment.
