Hello everyone. So as a assignment, I had to write a couplet poem, like one below. I really thought it through and came up with the best I could do. I would love of you guys could take a moment and let me know: how you felt after reading this poem. Also what do you think it means.

She Stood Silent 

Lost her mother at 2, yet she stood silent

Siblings tied to better pathways of life, tears approached her chin, yet she stood silent.

Stepmother came along giving orders without reasons

Her right to receive an education, was tossed into the bin, yet she stood silent.

Clean, and cook, her daily routines

Bruises covered her body like her very own skin, yet she stood silent.

One pair of clothes given to her

She was treated as a prisoner who committed a sin, yet she stood silent.

The day came, her hands were filled with henna, her face glowed,

People dancing, and cheering with a big grin, yet she stood silent.

Days went by, but her wind never changed directions

Her body heavily ached from the hard floor of the kitchen, yet she stood silent.

She forces herself to stand up

She was injured both outside and in, yet she stood silent.

Her knees wobbled like jello

Her red dried eyes were swollen, she had become thin, yet she stood silent.

Her eyes widen as she entered his room, all her tears roll down her cheeks

She witnessed, a stranger in bed, where her spot, should have been, yet she stood silent.

Her heart ached, and her eyes became a waterfall

She wanted to runaway, but this was something she could never win, yet she stood silent.
