Background

Mikazuki Yuna was born as Yuna Rae Salazar on December 1st, 1994 in Sao Paolo, Brazil to a Kyoto native-California raised mother, whose of Korean descent, and a Rio de Janiero native father, who's of Persian, Indian, and Afro-Panamanian descent. The first time she became interested in music was when she was almost two and there was parade around the city. She loved the Latin sounds and beats that filled the air and that feeling didn't go away at all. Since her father was a famous fictional and nonfictional novelist and her mom was a restaurant entreprenuer, her family moved around alot but that didn't stop her growing love for music. At age 4, the reggae flair of Kingston amazed her; age 6, the heavy jazz and soulful rhythm and blues of New Orleans captivated her to where she began learning the piano; age 7, the country bluegrass of Texas impressed her; and at age 8 the hip hop street music of New York City solidified her desire to be a music artists.

Since her family decided to maintain a long term residence in New York, Yuna auditioned for roles in plays and by the time she was 9 she finally got a shot. She had a really full toned voice that had a lot of potential to be amazing when she grew up and she kept practicing, even made a YouTube channel to post videos of her singing and playing instruments, such as bass, violin, drums, piano, acoustic guitar, and kalimba. People on the web encouraged her and It really helped to keep her mind off of the bullying and torment she received at school. Eventually, by the age of 14, she got her big Broadway debut and got the attention of many different managers but her parents were strict and told her that she should wait until she knew for certain what she wanted to do and until she was more mature. But one day she was met face to face with Lee Soo Man and at the age 16 and things weren't the same. Thus began her story...

Trainee Life— Lee Sooman recruited her personally after witnessing her perform in a musical he fell in love with her voice and saw he could be really successful with branching over if she was in his company. After much convincing, her parents allowed her to train in Seoul under their guidance, even though she was a high school graduate, so they packed up and left. When training under SM, it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies. She stuck out like a sore thumb with her looks even though she was fairly attractive. They would judge her by saying she didn't belong because she wasn't Asian enough and that her tanned Eurasian appearance was too weird but Lee Sooman didn't let her confidence die down since she was a pure talent. He wanted to pitch an idea to start a Japanese and Western promotional girl group to take over the largest music markets in the world and have her as the main vocalist but with the unexpected, quick success of Exo, the plan was put on hold for an undisclosed amount of time. Fully believing in Yuna's talents, he decided to to let her go and recommended her to Indie Entertainment. Though she was initially sad about leaving, she felt that she really fit in with the Indie family better than SM and was happy she was given the opportunity to start anew. While at Indie she was able to enhance her bass playing and instrumental craft to strive more towards true musicianship.

Personality— Initially he looks like a really cold, towering, and scarily ethreal person who doesn't care about anything but when you really get to know him he is a very silly person who likes to make fun of himself. He is a very goofy person and a mama's boy. He thinks he's an amazing artist and a fabulous main dancer of his group but he really isn't. but soon he grew up and had to make a hard decision. Now, he is a rising sensation in China and though he is happy career wise and physically, he had to leave a few parts of his heart back in Korea.

First Meeting— They met when Yuna was a part of the trainees in SM. He noticed that she spent most of her time being alone since she was ostracized for not being purely Korean, he experienced that for being Chinese along with the rest of the Chinaline, so he went to befriend her:

Kris walked into the dining hall, Tao, Luhan and Yixing trailing behind him. He quickly glanced around and saw various groups of trainees scattered around the area in their chosen cliques before she spotted one lone girl sitting at the bench, her eyes focused on the IPad in front of her with her headphones on - Mikazuki Yuna. This wasn't something new. She was an immediate outcast, or more like an alien, when she first joined SM Entertainment. She was instantly bullied because of her unique, ambiguous appearance, though that was just a select few. The rest of the pack didn't know how to interact with a foreigner so they were too scared to bother, even though he's heard many times that they would like to talk to her, it was sad to see how she was forced into isolation. Maybe he could...

"Yifan, are you coming?" asked Yixing with his fellow Chinaliners.

"No, you guys go ahead. I have some business to attend to." the tall male waved them off before walking over to Yuna, confusing the members. He walked up behind her, slowly peering over her shoulder to see her tap past various songs to land on a classical one with a picture of an old crazy haired guy for the album art.

"Wow, dude was in need of a comb." he suddenly, gaining her attention as she turned around and stared at him with curious olive eyes and a raised eyebrow.

"Well, seeing as this is Beethoven who lived during the Georgian Era nearly 300 years ago, it really isn't that crazy." Yuna responded sliding off her headphones so they would rest around her neck. "Wigs don't stay flawless unless you have that good hair that you have to sign away your soul for." she smiled. "Who cares if you're a zombie if the hair is on point."

"Ah, so she speaks!" exclaimed Kris, causing her to blink. "And she's some type of funny brainiac as well."

"I'm not really a brainiac per se but I do know my music history and I do speak..." Yuna said before trailing off. "...I just haven't been given a lot of chances to do so. But, I appreciate the funny compliment." she finished and Kris smiled as he raised a hand.

"Hey, I've been in the same situation as you so I understand."

Yuna's eyes widened slightly. "You have?"

Kris nodded. "Yeah." he said. "I mean I can't change the fact that I'm tall."

Yuna blinked a few times. "...tall?"

"Yeah, I can't change the fact that I'm 185cm of awesome." Kris admitted smugly but Yuna could tell he was feigning his arrogance just to make the mood lighter. "Like seriously people, get on my level. Oh wait, they...can't." he said slowly as if just realizing this information and Yuna burst into short laughter, one that sounded melodious with a slight hint of rasp and infectious quality. It sounded really nice and it was great seeing her true bubbliness shine on her face instead of the stoic loner vibe she gave off the past few months. She was cute.

"Not bad." she said. "You'll be a variety king in no time."

Kris smiled. "Why, thank you!" he said before holding out his hand to her. "I'm Wu Yifan, but I'm better known as Kris around here." he introduced. Yuna grabbed his hand, her dainty one being engulfed by it's much larger form.

"I'm Yuna Salazar or Mikazuki Yuna but I guess I'll be regarded as Yuna #2 around here." she giggled.

"Nice to meet you." Kris nodded just as his hand was pushed out of the way another. Yuna and Kris looked up to see Kim Jongdae smiling towards her.

"My name is Kim Jongdae, it's nice to meet you, Yuna-yah!" he smiled before sitting down in front of her but that wasn't it.

"I'm Luhan!"

"I'm Huang Zitao, but you can call me Tao!" he greeted in slightly imperfect Korean.

"And I'm Zhang Yixing." finished off the Chinaline and Kris looked at them with furrowed eyebrows.

"Hi!" Yuna greeted.

"Oh, so you guys do this now but not 2 months ago?" Kris asked the male newcomers.

Luhan smiled. "You're the leader so you have to open up the gate of opportunity." he explained matter of factly and Kris scoffed while Yuna giggled.

"It's fine." the girl smiled brightly. "I'm just happy you guys aren't treating me like I have 8 heads anymore." she answered. And thus was the beginning of a brighter SM experience and the budding romance of a Dragon and his special Rose...

Interactions— After some time, she finally opened up and found out that she was really funny, smart and weird but in a good way. She always liked to poke fun at him and joke around with him and he became the closest person to her while she was in SM. Kris soon fell for her but waited to say something since she was only 17 and it seemed weird since he was close to 21. When her 18th birthday came he gave her a cupcake that had I like you a lot written all over it as a way of confessing and she laughed because his handwriting was atrocious but when he pouted feeling offended, Yuna kissed him and accepted his feelings. She even admitted that she was attracted to him because he looked just like a shoujo prince which made him laugh. They started dating afterwards and got a few months of completely being a couple until he had to prep for his debut and they had to spend less time together. When Exo did really well, she went to Indie Entertainment and they spent even less time together but every now and again they would go on late night romantic rendezvous in the park or in restaurants. They would even play basketball together and she would make fun of him with his "ball is life" mantra. She would get embarrassed when he says something corny, like Kris saying she was the brightest star in his galaxy which would make her gag while thinking it was the sweetest thing ever. She would call him by super cute nicknames which would get him embarrassed.

After a few years of dating, things became a little tougher on them. Kris became increasingly unhappy with being a part of SM Entertainment because he wasn't given the chance to explore the opportunites given to the Korean members. So he talked to some of s about it and they didn't want him to go but when he went to Yuna he got the honest truth in the matter. He really expected her to want him to stay which she did but she encouraged him to move forward and take control of how he wants his life to be. She also explained that even though it hurted to see him go, it would be even harder to see him suffer doing something he couldn't give his all to do. So right before his final concert in Shanghai with the Exo members, Yuna and Kris did a very heartfelt breakup wishing each other the best of success and told each other that they loved each other.

So after May 15th, all hell broke loose with Kris leaving Exo and him being branded as a traitor but as much as Yuna wanted to tell him she had his back and send words of comfort but she couldn't. He specifically told her to not contact him so she wouldn't be dragged into it. It devastated them both but she focused on her music and trying to debut while he filmed his movies, all the while thinking of each other and longed for the day they could be together.
