at first look, moonyi is a very optimistic and happy girl. she always has everyone on their toes with her extravagant beauty and neverending happiness. she may seem strong and independent, but that's what she wants you to think. deep inside, she is a fragile girl who thinks that she'll never be as amazing as she really is, oblivious to her own talents sometimes. she masks her insecurities with bright smiles, not wanting anybody to see her as weak. she tries to build around her weaknesses by being the kind and fun-loving person she really is. talk about selfless, she's always helping out others before herself. her selflessness does tend to be quite the flaw, making her seem gullible. she just honestly wants to help anyone she can because she believes in giving happiness to everyone, even if they are a foe. in her defense she will say, "even bad people need to be happy once in their lives."
being overly happy also makes her seem dumb most of the time. she always has her head up in the clouds, in her own daydreams. She really doesn't have a strong concept of what is wrong, beliving that 'bad' people aren't really bad, just misunderstood. With this kind of thinking, people tend to see her as a innocent little girl.
although it may seem like she can trust anyone, trust is something she holds very close to her heart. if someone would ultimately crush it, you will be an 'evil witch' in her eyes. when (or if) that ever happens, moonyi will no longer see you as a part of her life. all she will see is an evil creature who plays with people's trust and hearts. It would take practically forever for her to forgive, it not something to be played with. even if she does forgive afterward, it will never be the same. she's seen the other side of the person. she may seem happy, but in truth, she'll never trust them like she ever did because she'll always be thinking they will crush her trust once again.

TRAINEE BACKGROUND » moonyi found herself entering pledis entertainment in january 2011 after she confronted her mother on her choice of wanting to be an idol. even though kiala wanted to talk to the ceos, moonyi entered the company fair and square (going through a few auditions so she wouldn't feel guilty for being picked just because she was popular). her trainee days were neither boring or dramatic. it was a mix of the two of them. she did experience the bullying and the rough schedules, but she went through it all (with the help of her mother and family). there were a few times were moonyi just wanted to quit, but then she would yell at herself for thinking of such things. she was better than that. she was actually rumored to debut with hello venus, but nothing never came of it. she was thought of at once for the project, but obviously she didn't make it. too young, she thought. after so, moonyi went along with the rest of her trainee days. then came the times of poverty with pledis. not exactly broke, but moonyi was worried with pledis and their problems with money. she was honestly afraid of what would come if she stays with pledis, wondering when she would actually debut, knowing it would be a long time for that. that's when kiala found out about auditions for jellyfish entertainment. even though they were quite small along with their own hardships, there were more positive outcomes for moonyi's career if she transferred to jellyfish. so that's is what she did, she officially left pledis in december of 2012.

background » moonyi's story actually starts with her parents. her mother was a popular idol back in the philippines. during a interesting photoshoot while she was in seoul, she had walked right into henry the lawyer apprentice and caused him to spill his coffee all over the gorgeous model (kiala likes to tell moonyi that they're destined to meet each other that day). as naughty as it may sound to others, the apprentice did the first thing that came to his frantic mind. he offered her a ride to his apartment to help clean her up (he didn't have the time to think of anything naughty, too much law work in his mind). kiala thought the man was adorable when he realized the kind of situation they were in, being all shy and jumpy around the pretty woman. after the incident, henry found himself with a piece of paper of the model's number in hand. it wasn't until two weeks later when kiala came back to south korea for another photoshoot, they would meet once again like the first time. they really fit each other perfectly which ultimately lead to the pregnancy of their first child. the young couple were happy, too happy maybe. with the pregnancy, kiala had been put on leave from her modeling which had lead to her early retirement. she didn't like being the thouhgt having to drag with her love and baby everywhere for photoshoots. henry worked hard for his lovely wife so he would be able to support her and their child for years to come. as kiala gave birth to triplet boys, henry soon found himself a proud owner of his own successful law firm.
so where does moonyi come in? after the birth of the triplets, then came along jinho, another boy. with now having fourth child, the couple now found themselves in a larger home to accompany their growing family. that was until kiala fell pregnant...once again. finally! their first girl was born, moonyi. moonyi was the special child, you could say. she was born premature (2 months, give or take), but had a full bill of health. she was the center of the family's world. though, moonyi wasn't their last child. soon enough, another son and twin boys, the yeom family was finally complete. the couple were surprised to find themselves with such a huge family, but they loved it and they couldn't wish for anything more.
as moonyi grew up, she was her still the center of attention, especially from all her brothers. her older brothers were protective of her while the younger ones looked up to her. even though she was the only daughter, she didn't care. she loves all her brothers equally. as far as she can remember, she has always looked up to her mother. even after she stopped her modeling, she was still a beautiful woman. she wanted to be just like her mother, a famous model. with her mother's connections, she started out modeling children's clothes and a few cfs. she was quick to become popular in the idol world and her school life. she was always well loved and had many friends, but that also came with enemies. though being moonyi, she was never a fighting type and always tried to befriend anyone.
during her modeling in high school, moonyi started to get bored of just standing behind the cameras and posing. she wanted more, really. of course, being an idol was all the craze at her school so it influenced her decision. kiala wasn't angry at her daughter, she just wanted her happy and if being a kpop idol made her happy, she wouldn't get in the way of that.
moonyi's current lifestyle is calm despite her usual hectic schedules. she simply lives each day like it is. with no schedules, she's either back at the dorm cooking or simply relaxing, but sometimes she'll be out on the town looking for the next best dresses to buy. as said before, she lives in the dorm, but she still has her own bedroom back with her parents as she does make sure to at like visit once a week (her family is her ultimate supporters).

history » it's a funny story actually...moonyi was still a trainee and it was when she had transferred over to jellyfish entertainment. moonyi's brothers are notorious for surprising their sister during practice, giving her moral support and presents, as if she was already a famous idol. vixx was in the building at the time waiting for their manager, so they got to witness one of these events. hongbin was smitted by moonyi's delicate features and how motherly she was to her brothers. as her trainee years go by, vixx got to witness these events multiple times.
love story » at first, they were just aquaintances, but as vixx continued to see her and her brothers, they all soon wanted to actually talk to the delicate beauty. moonyi was drawn in by hongbin's smile (especially that dimple, gosh) and just how sweet he actually was. despite how sweet and kind they are individually, when it comes to both of them, it's like watching a drama. moonyi at first was attracted by hongbin's looks and smiles, but soon enough, his soft and sweet touches made her fall hard for the idol. as for hongbin, he was head over heels for her since he first saw her. but instead of talking about their feelings, they tease each other. how? like calling each other out harmlessly on tv, etc.
interactions » during all those times, moonyi always found herself glancing at the six males and she felt drawn to hongbin the most. of course at this time, hongbin wasn't all that popular, but moonyi didn't care. moonyi still though hongbin was handsome, despite his lack of popularity. hongbin likes to mess with her, ever heard of the saying if they pick on you, it means they like you? that sums them up to a tee. moonyi gets flustered a lot around hongbin, she never knows what he's gonna do next since he can be sweet and caring one second, and greasy and erted the next.
