PERSONALITY » Ju Yeon is not the type of girl to fight with other because she doesn't see the point of yelling at each other while you can just sit and talk calmly about the problem. She is a great listener, when her friends needs to talk to someone they usually come to her because she doesn't judge them and she tries to give them advices when she can. She cares a lot for the people she loves, always making sure that they are happy and doesn't need anything. She can also be very cute but quite childish at times. She acts childishly especially when someone wakes her up in the morning, she would just roll on her bed saying 'No I don't want to wake up let me sleep' with a baby voice. She does a lot of aegyo when she is with her family, friends or members.Ju Yeon can be a real workhaholic sometimes, she wouldn't stop practicing until everything is perfect sometime hurting herself in the process. She often stays after practice hours just to work again and again until she is satisfied with the result. She focuses her work mostly on the dance because that's where she need more practicing.
Ju Yeon can seem a little bit cold the first time you see her, because she doesn't talk much with people she doesn't know, but it's just out of shyness more than coldness. She doesn't talk much on interviews, she talk only when she has to and people said of her that she has an attitude while it's just her personality, she doesn't exaggerate her expression just because she is on TV. When she is stressed she can become really cold towards everybody and tends to isolate herself from everyone. She can also be very harsh and mean towards the people who are mean to her. She doesn't get angry often but when she is you better stay away from her and let her isolate herself to calm down or she will just yell at you even if you're not the one she is angry at. Ju Yeon is really insecure about everything she does that's why she practices a lot. That is also one of the reason why she doesn't talk much on interviews, she is afraid to say something wrong and that people will make fun of her. She is easily affected by criticism. When she sees on the internet comments about her not being good enough at singing or dancing, she will practices evenmore for everything to be perfect; when people says she is too fat, she will lose weight even if she is already super thin. She also cry very easily. When she sees a movie whether it's a sad movie or not she will cry at some point. When she is stressed, angry, tired, it's not rare to see her broke in tears.
BACKGROUND » Ju Yeon was born on December 27, 1997 in Tokyo, Japan from Korean parents. When she was a child she learned to speak both Korean and Japaneses. Her parents spoke to her in Korean at home and she learned Japanese at school. At the age of 6 she learned to play the violin, and also her mother taught her how to play the piano because she could play the instrument, and two years later, at the age 8, she started to take singing class because becoming a singer was her dream, she wanted to be like the idols she saw on TV. In Elementary School she was in the school choir and music club. In the school choir she rapidly became the soloist because of her powerful voice. At first she had a hard time singing in front of so many people watching her and the first time she had to sing as the soloist she lost her voice on stage and she just stayed standing in front of the crowd without uttering a word. She felt so embarrassed that she left the stage. After that incident her music teacher started to work with her, giving her extra classes to learn how to control her fear of being watched by many people and to sing like it was only her in the room. Those lessons helped her a lot and after that she could sing in front of people. She still was anxious before going on stage but after she began to sing all of her worries would go away. In the music club she played the violin and thats where she took interest in composing music. Two of her classmates also wanted to compose music so the three of them created a small composing team and they composed some music for the club with the help of their teacher.
In July 2009, when she was in Korea visiting her aunt, she was scouted by a manager of Pledis Ent. She passed an audition and she got in so she began her trainee years. Her parents returned in Japan because her father couldn't quit his job to live in South Korea so she stayed at her aunt's house while she was training. She attented Dankook Middle School, and then she attended the School Of Performing Arts of Seoul where she is still studying. She no longer lives with her aunt but she lived with the other members of Divinity and now lives in a dorm with the other trainees of Unforgiving Shock. Eventough she isn't living with her aunt anymore she still sees her regularly and her parents come to see as often as they can.
She was a trainee for 5 years, before the CEO of Pledis Ent told her that she was going to debut as the Main Vocalist of the girl group Divinity. The girls debuted on October 2, 2014 but unfortunately the group disbanded on March 25, 2015. After that Ju Yeon left Pledis to go to J.Tune Camp where the CEO told her that she was going to be part of a show called Unforgiving Shock..
Her trainee years at Pledis Ent were good eventhough they were tough. It was hard for her to combine school and practice but she manage to do it eventhough sometimes it meant for her to stay after practice hours to practice by herself. She worked very hard because she wanted to learn so she was never late to practice neither did she complain and she had always listen to her teachers. In early 2010, she started to have a hard time with practice and she was so exhausted due to all the work she had to do as a trainee but also as a student that she began to have eating problems. She wouldn't eat for a few days in a row causing her to faint during practice, once she even had to be hospitalized because she had lost to much weight and it was dangerous for her health. Since that incident the Pledis Staff & even the CEO kept their eyes on her to make sure that she eats properly, but her eating problems haven't stopped and it even got worse at some point. In mid-2010, her health was so bad that she stop training for about 2-3 months following the advice of the CEO who was worried for her. During those months she went back to Tokyo to spent time with her parents. Her health eventually got better and she could go back to Korea to continue her training. During her trainee years she learned to play the guitar. The end of her trainee years were good.

RELATIONSHIP » They met in 2012, at the School Of Performing Arts of Seoul, because they were in the same class. At first they didn't talk much with each other but, one day, JungKook heard that Ju Yeon was a trainee like him and he decided to talk to her. She was very shy the first time he talked to her but after that they became close friends and they are inseparable. They began to develope feelings for each other but they never had the courage to confess because they don't wan't to loose their friendship.They call each other every night before going to sleep and they text each other a thousand time a day.
