Craft #15 - #17: The Starweaver bracelet, Pikachu bracelet and Gary The Minion charm/topper (LOADED with pics)

The original title of this blog post is: "Be-llo :) Pika! Oh stars!"

But it didn't make sense. HAHA!

I told myself that I wouldn't loom from Monday to Friday, to exercise some form of self-control. AND I SUCCEEDED. YAY!

I was so excited that Saturday! I spent the morning cleaning my room, my shoes, my slippers... everything... and in the afternoon, I watched YouTube tutorials.

When evening came, the looming began. I had to do it at night, because my mother doesn't grasp the concept of privacy. I share a bathroom with my sister so she uses that door to enter my room unannounced -_-

(And it's the reason why I came home last Friday with all my water bottles gone. I was planning to make containters but she thought it was trash. She must have missed the trash can by the door.. I could have dumped it there if I weren't collecting them or I could have thrown it away before I even arrived home. Anyway, she had words that evening that even my simple explanation of "I was collecting them" didn't deter her. "You should have cleaned them then and not left them lying around," she said. orz. They were once filled with distilled water. Maybe she was referring to my saliva? You can never win an argument with your mother, so don't even try. My bath towel that I left hanging near the window, was once again laid out at the foot of my bed. I don't know why she does that. But ants love cool places -_-) I do love my mother, she just drives me crazy most of the time. Haha.

Anyway, back to Saturday evening:

I was lamenting on how many black bands I have. See, I only planned on making floral bracelets and crowns. All the other bracelet designs look the same to me ^^" As I was plotting on how to get rid of them, just like what I did with the slime green and eggplant violet bands, I remembered watching a tutorial of the xoxo bracelet. But I didn't have enough number of bands for the x and o. So I went back to my history, and saw another version of a starbust bracelet. It used a lot of black bands! And there are stars :3

Tada!

This has brought me a lot of frustration. I planned on doing a "transfer" since I was only using one loom but it never worked out. In the end, I just attached a chain as an extension.

But I think I did okay ^0^

The real fun began when I saw this Pokeball charm tutorial by TutorialsByA.  (She's the niece of the creator of Rainbow Loom and has the privilege to use products before they are even available in the webstore.) There were a lot of Pikachu tutorials in the recommended section.

I watched three (original design by Julia Dobbie, an improved version of the original tutorial done by TypicalKawaiizt and this cute Pikachu charm by Crafty Girl)  and then combined everything I learned to make this:

Kyaaah! >_< I like it so much!

I don't have the black beads so I used black bands (haha).

And for the blush, instead of just using the red band as a link, I made it puffy by looping it four times in my hook and inserting it in a yellow band :3

I mean, Pikachu's red blush kinda pops out in the anime right?

And for the extension, I made three single chains, not a triple chain bracelet. Because the latter uses up so many bands and still, it is too tight >.>

The downside is that I used up most of my yellow and black bands. HAHA. I drive myself crazy. One moment, I want to get rid of the black and then I moan about not having enough black bands the next.

I was already lying down in my bed when I had this urge to make another one. I looked at the yellow and black bands that were left. Those two colors reminded me of another character...

The minions.

Ha! I don't have the opaque blue but I have blue jellies :3

I followed this Rainbow Loom Minion Pencil Topper/Charm tutorial by Kate Schultz.

Again, I don't have moving eyes, so I used black and white bands haha.

Making the eyes was the hardest part. I tried so many times >_< But it worked out it the end.

Cuteee. I'm going to make my own army of these minions :3

Back view:

Now, I have these two as companions :3

Be nice to each other, kay?

"Pika!"

"Bello"

Just to show you how tall they are:

So, Keeper used up all her black... and yellow. The yellow wasn't part of the plan. I need it for my flowers orz

I keep telling myself not to buy more bands until I used up every single one I have in my stash.

I keep telling myself that it would be the last bracelet or the last charm.

And yet I keep doing otherwise.

My name suites me. Keeper.

Ha! After the church service, I bought another pack of black bands :3 Will purchase the yellow, blue and white on Friday.

Keeper
