How you become trainee in SM Entertainment? : (Audition) He's go to the SM Monthly Audition in early 2012 with his twin sisters and they both get accepted after that.

Trainee years + Trainee's life: He want to be a real idol after he sees Chanyeol debut teaser. He auditioned with the song “Not Afraid” by Eminem. He has trained 3 years under SM Ent.. As trinee he has a lot of friends because he's a friendly but some trinees hate him too because he's so annoying sometimes. He always be the first person to come for practice and the first person to leave. He has Chanyeol as his personal tutor rapper, and Krystal as his personal tutor in act. When he was trinee people use to call him 'The 2nd Chanyeol' because they have the same deep and manly voice.
