appearance — Cho Hyun is pretty short and light for her age, standing at only 5'3 at a weight of only 115 lbs she is what you'd typically consider small. She has fairly large creamy chocolate eyes eyes  paired up with a button nose and naturally pink full-ish lips. Her features are framed in an edged face and a pointed chin. This is delicately placed under her long chestnut colored hair that reches the middle of her back in naturally soft curls. In the sunlight, her hair shifts from a dark brown to a ligher shade and then red at the ends, she blames this on the chlorine from the pool since she does swim for a hobby. Cho Hyun doesn't really like putting on make-up so her flaws of her face are what she wears around visibally. She has had panda bags underher eyes and no matter what she does (sleep early, face massage, or cucumbers) it doesn't seem to make them any smaller in size. Her face holds a few scars from acne as a youth, but they are pretty small or almost gone from time and from good care of her skin.

Sadly she is pretty dark, her skin betrays her aisan heritage with it's slight pigmentation of yellow and because of her swimming hobby. She has what most Americans sun-bathe for, and what most asians raise an eyebrow towards, a tan. She doesn't bother with using beauty products because they confuse her with all of the benefits and disadvantages that they seem to have. She normally has terrible vision, so she wears  circle lenses  (with prescription) or contacts to help her to be able to see. when she cuts her hair, it retains it's curliness in a shorter version and her face shape seems to look the same, only a bit more sharp or angular. Her appearance and her personality seem to contradict themselves because her face screams cold and her friends note that she has a resting face, but her personality is far from cold once you get to know her.

Cho Hyun will basically stay the same weight if you force her to eat more or less. She's tried dieting but it doesn't seem to work on her, she always stays between 110-115 lbs. If you were to ask her for her favorite body part, she'd immediately reply with her collar bones. She has always agreed that if she were to get a tatoo, the only place would be her collar bones. Call it a weird obsession but she is most confident of them which outline the length of her neck and also shows the dip between each one. She feels that if she were to try to do a y concept, she'd feel more confident if her collar bones were showing.

Curves are something that Cho Hyun lacks in her body. Lack of curves comes from lack of s and a , and she sadly admits that she has neither. Her waist is naturally at an hourglass figure but looking at her from her side view and she's  almost as flat as an ironing board. She tried doing squats to get a bigger but she felt like there was no improvement and stopped. Although she acknowledges that she is prettier than average, she sometimes wish she could see from another's eyes because she views herself to look very simple or plain in beauty standards.

fashion style —

She considers herself to have no fashion sense what-so-ever but she doesn't have to worry about that since others usually pick her outfits out for her photoshoots, or her close friends help her come up with cool styles. If she was to choose what to wear going out, she would mainly choose something that feels comfy and reserved like oversized sweaters, hoodies, big t-shirts, flowy dresses, sweat pants, leggings etc. It's not necessarily matching clothes that is the problem with her style, it's jus that with everything she puts on she mainly wears nikes with them. Be it something cute or something sophisticated. She favors pink, white, and pastel colors.

all about me

traits — Innocent, wise, shy, sweet, Imaginative (bad traits come with the good ones)

personality —

"Once Upon a time I was innocent""- Cho Hyun is very innocent to many thing and sometimes her friends joke that it's not innocence but her just naturally being slow or dense. Although she is willing to help anyone, even those who see her as a rival, hurting those close to her is a stain that she will never forgive you of. Her innocence usually causes her much shock when something is told to her that she didn't or wasn't expecting, such as the level of hardships that some members from her group faced. Although she strives to be able to relate to the other members and to get along with them to make their bonds stronger, she usually forgets that she's still quite young and that she's human too.

Bad: Her innocence makes her seem like a fake type of girl. Many people cannot really accept the fact that she is innocent and she gets alot of hate or anti-fans because they thinks she tries to be too perfect. She recieved the nickname 'Mary-Sue' partly due to this.

"wisdom grows in quite places" - Cho Hyun has experienced what she considers as a good amount of  unfortunate events throughout her childhood and also growing up. She was forced to grow up at a young age to be able to take care of herself and her younger brother as well as to meet her father's high expectations. Her mother's death took a heavy toll on Cho Hyun's life because of the expectation of having to act mature which helped her to be able to put up many masks and show people what they want to see from her. In doing so, Cho Hyun began to feel very lonely due to not having anyone that she could relate with. Somewhere along this rocky road, she realized that she developed depression because of the strain that she was forced to put up with. She ignores it at first because she knows that everyone develops depression once in their life and eventually will get over it, but she soon realizes that it's not going away and instead it's taking up more and more of her life. The expectations of her father, and the life in which she must maintain and balance was and still is very stressful to her but she is skilled at hiding her emotions.

Bad: Cho Hyun rarely get's mad or provoked, usually she is very calm, gentle and mild in manner, but when she does get upset she can be a very deadly opponent. If irritted to the maximum, she does a switch from Jekyll to Hyde and her aura changes to something that is very suspensful, suffocating and queen like in manner. Cho Hyun is skilled at keeping secrets, detecting lies, and also being able to switch or keep up multiple masks when needed. Her depression began affecting the way in which she viewed the people around her and she started to realize that not everyone is trustworthy or reliable as she use to think. She keeps her depression submerged from those around her yet slowly her views on life began to get poisoned little by little.

"It is scientifically proven that people who have more birthday live longer" - Cho Hyun is aware of the fact that she doesn't understand alot of things that are said to be funny so she tries very hard to be humorous and outgoing as some of the other members. She studies how they're able to joke around very seriously (obviously missing the point of humor) and tries to incorporate it into herself. Many people find this trait about her amusing because she ironically doesn't know that she's already funny by being herself. with her closest friends, she is able to relax and sometimes she can make them laugh but at the cost of her dignity. Usually her clumsiness or semi-lose mouth can cause a good laugh within their group.

Bad: Her bad humor usually can freeze up the atmosphere and this causes her to be very bad when it comes to talking infront of the camera or in a comedy type of show.

"I know, I'm shy" when you first meet Cho Hyun she can either be very shy or she'll put up some kind of mask that she usually will never take off completely. Even her closest girlfriends don't understand her well enough, although they are unaware of this since she has tuned her acting skills very precisely. when you first try to talk to her, she will be quite to the point that you think she's either mute, doesn't understand the language, stuck-up, or a weird antisocial creepy girl. Even though she's shy and won't look you in the eyes, she is very observant and usually pays very close attention to what is being discussed. when people first talk to Cho Hyun, it will be very awkward unless they are natural outgoing people that will continue to take stabs at starting a conversation until her secluded bubble has popped. She developed this shy bubble because of her depression which began to eat away at her self-esteem and self-confidence thus making her think that compared to the other people, she is worth dirt. Although she wants to associate and join the conversation she's usually too afraid, in her head, she can hear her voice and what she wants to say loud and clear but usually betrays her and stays tightly shut.

BAD: It got bad to the point where she had to force herself to go out, where she would stare at the ground when walking due to fear of making eye contact, and even think negative thoughts about herself when she got stared at (even if it was for something good). People thought she was y because she rarely spoke off-set and because her face was always neutral. It didn't help that she had a resting face.

"Sugar & spice n' everything nice, that's what makes me sweet' - Cho Hyun is sweet to everyone that she meets no matter how harsh or rude of a manner that they treat her, one of the only times in which she will be cold and closed off to someone is if they hurt someone close to her or if someone very close to her betrays her in a manner that is unforgiveable. Cho Hyun enjoys little kids, she's always wanted to have a child of her own and raise them from birth to growth with her future husband. She usually stops by the orphanage in Seoup and plays with the children, as well as helping to take care of them.

Cho Hyun is in love with young children and animals, she absolutely adores them. She loves her little brother and tries to be the best sister that she can be to him, making sure that she is never letting him down. Aside from going to the orphanage often, she also tries to help out at a kindergarden school near her apartment whenever she is free or has time. She always wanted to own a golden retriever puppy but her living quarters forbids animals. Instead, she stops by the pet shop near her modeling job and plays with the dogs and puppies there sometimes.

BAD:Cho Hyun is easily able to forgive someone of wrongdoing and doesn't like holding grudges against people even if it's her enemy. Her mother raised her not to be hateful and a grudge bearer so she sticks by it because she doesn't want to let her mother down. This in turn sometimes is used against her because ChoHyun is too soft and willing. She often got used and bullied by others during her trainee days because she was so easy, and she usually came home with blurry tear stained eyes as well as a mind full of hateful comments about her. when this started happening, she begant to become more introverted and in order to get those bullying her to stop, she tried pleasing them so that she might possibly fit in and not get pushed around, but it backfired when they began to make fun of her secretly and made a game to see how nice she could be until she would realize their little 'trick'.

"Imagination is more important that knowledge"Cho Hyun can usually be found thinking about something else with her head in the clouds. She sometimes makes eye contact and locks a gaze unknowingly with people while she is thinking about something else within her head. when this happens, she'd immediately look somewhere else and get afraid that the person might sneer at her for staring at them. This use to happen with Minho alot and it drove him insane, she also does this when she is sitting with a bunch of people but doesn't have a clue what the conversation is about. This also starts misunderstandings with other guys which leads her to shooting them down unintentionally. Sometimes, she is able to understand thing at the wrong timing becuse of her thinking so much.

Once during a 'friend date' with Minho, Sulli, and Donghae, she randomly gasped and made a face that looked like she found the solution to global warming. She wouldn't tell them what she thought of, saying that it didn't correlate with the conversation and that it was awkward, but she later told Sulli that she gasped because she finally understood a scene that happened in a drama that she watched a year ago.

BAD: She has a habit of either beginning a conversation or sentence with someone and then trailing off or getting someone's attention with a gasp or thinking face and then saying 'nevermind I'm sorry, it's nothing' which irritates people alot. She does this because she feels like if she shares her thoughts and ideas with others, they might look at her weirdly and treat her like a strange child. She usually ends up wandering into her own world whenever she is bored or is uninterested in the conversation and can't quite seem to float back down unless someone repeadly calls her name or touches her. On occasion, what she is thinking about will carelessly slip out

(example, when one of her members comments on how loudly 'so-and-so' snores, Cho Hyun smiles and says "oh, unni...but you snore too" before covering and having a shocked expression at herself).

background — For the first 10 years of Cho Hyun's life, she lived with her mother in Singapore. They were relatively a well-to-do pair and ran a small coffee and dessert cafe. Cho Hyun learned to bake many different types of pasteries and sweets as well as making different types of coffee. She and her mother were very close and she was taught korean by her mother who promised Cho Huyn that she would take her to Korea for her 10th birthday if she could speak korean fluently by then. She diligently began learning korean in hopes of finally seeing her mother's beloved city and experiencing the wonders that her mother described such as falling in love. Around the age of 5 Cho Hyun noticed that her mother began to cough a little more slightly and had worry deep within her eyes. She pushed her curiousity to the side thinking it as just a seasonal cold, yet the coughing became accompanied with gradual and worsening fatigue which resulted in hiring an extra staff when Cho Hyun was around 7. At around her 10th birthday, her mother seemed to get better but suddenly went to the hospital and when she came back, she was introduced to her adapted little brother (Hak-Kun Haneul). Her mother decided to adapt another child to keep Cho Hyun company after she passed away and also so that they would be able to rely on each other when needed. She needed an excuse to explain to Cho Hyun as to why she went to the hospital and adapting seemed like a perfect idea. Telling Cho Hyun that she was sick and going to die would break her Pearls heart and she couldn't bear that. Neither she nor her brother are aware that they are not blood related, and neither of them have been told this due to her mother's last wishes.

Cho Hyun's dream of going to Korea was put on hold when her mother became bed ridden and eventually passed away. For the first few weeks, she was devastated and didn't have any ideas on how to cope with this or to continue. She thought that her baby brother was the reason her mother went to the hospital, but not because her mother had lupus like the doctors told her later. Cho Hyun realized that she had to start growing up and taking care of herself and her little brother because no one was going to do that for her anymore. After the innitial shock of her mother's gradual and unavoidable death, she and Young-Soon (the hired member) began to run the cafe for a few short months, when she suddenly got a call and was informed that she and her little brother would be sent to go live with her father in America. Cho Hyun was very distressed about this, as she would have to leave behind the last bits of her mother's memories and her beloved friend/family/staff Young-Soon in Singapore and move miles away to America with her father. She left Young-Soon in charge and made her promise that she would do everything within her power to keep the shop open so that when she visited again, they could reminiscance of the past memories.

When she and her brother first moved to America, she was very nervous because she had never met her father before. Her mother had always told her as a child that her father was very handsome, tall and the love of her life. She never asked her mother much about him because whenever she did, her mother's eyes would glisten with tears and she would be very silent. She always thought that her father loved them but never enough to stay with them, which she was okay with because she never wanted to burden him with what she thought of as a 'unwanted child' refering to herself. When they finally get to America, her first encounter wth her father was cool and professional. He was exactly as she had thought he would be like, and their first meeting was disappointing for her because she had a slight hope that her father would turn out to be like the fathers of the other girls in her school or in the movies. He spoke to her in a leveled monotone voice and tells her how she will be living in fluent korean. For the first few weeks, he was there and the silence that accompanied them was unbearable. She sticks by her brother and does her best to take care of him, especially when their step-mother seems to disdain them. As her brother and her grew older, she began to notice the favortism that was given to her brother by their step-mother and she is relieved of this because she wants her brother to be able to grow up within warmth and kindness so that his childhood would be pleasurable, especially since he did not really know his 'mother'.

She lives with her father and step-mother for four years in which were quite sad years to her. During this time, she felt like her soul was slowly wilting away and she learned how to fake emotions and put a mask over her true face. Her parents and her were not on good terms because they never had a true or strong enough love for one another. Her father was almost always away on a buisness meeting and her step-mother and her had a respectful relationship with one another but did not actually love each other.Although it was not proveable, she felt like her step-mother did not like her and wanted her to be shipped off to other relatives, or somewhere else. Cho Hyun thought that the house always felt very cold because of the lack of warm memories, life, and love put within it. Throughout her school years in America, Cho Hyun maintained perfect grades and an excellent GPA in order to become less of a burden upon her father. She kept a mindset that keeping focused on grades would be important to her future, and she also thought that getting good grades would improve her father's view on her. She joined the tennis, track, and swim teams in her school and took part in many clubs as well as commumity services on top of learning violin, piano, and the harp.

Somewhere along the way of growing up quickly Cho Hyun realized that she picked up depression, but she brushed it off because she though that it was just something you get as you got older. Thinking that it would go away, she ignored the sadness she felt and occupied her time and her mind on the things around her which was why she played sports, took part of her school and community, as well as learning 3 instruments. The overworking didn't seem to help and she wanted to stop and take a break but she was afraid that doing so would cause major disappointment from her father so she didn't stop but tried to manage and stay afloat from it all. She remembered that since she was 11 she had always gone to bed with breakdowns that no one knew about and every night before she drifted off she would wish she could die. Although she longed to be dead, she knew how dying would affect the people around her in horrible ways after she would be gone. KunKun would probably hate her for leaving him, their step-mother might try to change him, their father would be very disappointed and then point all of the discipline at her little brother. The biggest fear she has is that if she kills herself her mother will be disappointed with her for being unable to handle the pressure because knows how hard it was for her mother to leave her old life from before and start a new life from scratch. She felt so much negative emotion, more than is healthy for a normal person, and slowly began to feel little to no emotions. She started realizing that she was unable to differentiate emotions, such as jealousy or anger from each other. This is partially the reason as to why she is unable to tell the difference between love and friendship, the other half is because she has never experienced it and thinks that love only happens to other girls not her.

On her 14th birthday, Cho Hyun timidly asked her father if she could visit Korea as a gift and he accepted, even allowing her to stay there for a year if she continued her studies with private tutors. Her father bought her a suite in Kangna Cheongdam-dong and gave her weekly allowances as well as credit cards, a driver and anything else that he viewed as a necessity. Her first week in Korea was the first time that she met Minho...Korea was a new experience for her and the knowing that it was where her mother grew up gave her a sense of warmth and courage, bringing life back into her empty soul. She ran into Minho on the public bus and pretended to be his his clingy little sister from America to escape a crowd of Shinee fans. She gets to know him and his members and although they do bring alot of trouble, they begin to form a good friendship, and she soon realized that she too wanted to be immersed in the world of stardom and idols. Secretly she took up modeling for hosishop as a part time job without her father's knowledge and from there, her fan base grew. She was discovered by SM Entertainment not for a girls group but for modeling and acting. She was then put into the training program which she excelled at in a rapid pace, much to the surprise of the agency, and was allowed to star in a few music videos as well as ads. She later decided to become an idol and was placed in a possible debuting band...

Cho Hyun's trainee life was very harsh. She doesn't regret going though it because she knows that it made her stronger and into a better person, but she still gets a little reflective when thinking back to it. At the start of her trainee life, she was estatic to try something new and put in everything she could in excelling, which was surprisingly easy to her. She began getting friendly messages and emails from her step-mother, her trainees around her were nice and polite and her little brother and her were as close as ever. Things seemed to be going her way and she thought that the tides were finally turning. She was about to debute with girl group Red Velvet when the messages from her step-mom began to get more hostile, the trainees around her seemed to not want to associate with her, and her little brother began to get a little distant.  She kept trying her best, and decided to focus on the good news that she would be debuting soon with her new group. Last minute, she was pulled out of the band and placed as a trainee again. Rumors were spread about her and why she did not debute with Red Velvet. A bunch of different names were used by the other trainees to adress her and if she didn't reply she was considered rude.  Her last slip of confidence seemed to have vanished into thin air and she relied alot on Minho during this time. Even when she relied on him, she still felt guilty because she thought that as a star he had his own problems and shouldn't have to carry the burdens for two people. She tried to close herself off from him in order to not be so much of a burden, but he wouldn't allow it. Cho Hyun felt like she would snap in half soon and decided that maybe the star life was not for her because all of her hopes and dreams seemed to be taken out from under her.

She informed the company that she wanted to consider quitting and was about to call her parents to tell them that she was sorry for disappointing them. Sitting in her locked bathroom by herself and with a bottle of chemicals (potassium cyanide) which would have guaranteed her instant and painless death, she cried her heart out and finally admited to herself that life wasn't easy and it probably would get harder. Taking five capsuls in her hand, she was about to swallow them with water when she recieved a call from Minho telling her not to give up on her dream and that he had persuaded the company to give her up to Jellyfish entertainment, where they were looking for trainees for a girl group. She began to cry again and choked out a shakey thank-you to Minho who was alarmed since his Pearl never ever cried. The one thing that he says to her in which she never ever forget is "Sometimes the girl who's always been there for everyone else needs someone to be there for her"

— Eun-Kyung |birth mother |32|warm, supportive, wise, calm, loving, gentle, humorous & witty

Cho Hyun and her mother were very close and she use to tell her mother everything.  Eun-Kyung loved her daughter and called her 'Pearl' or 'my little pearl' as a form of endearment. Eun-Kyung was born and raised in Korea where she met her husband and love for the first time at age 19 in college. He was witty, smooth, and sweet with all the ladies that he had ever dated while studying business in the University near the Cafe that she worked at. She saw him almost every week at the cafe where she worked at with a new girl every other day.He came often and she grew to be weary of his personality and the way that he conducted himself. She held a real conversation with him one day when he came to the cafe by himself looking tired and slightly messy but still charming as ever. She was walking past his table with a cup of latte when he accidentally bumped into her and spilled the caramel brown liquid over her white blouse and pencil black skirt. She was mortified, annoyed, and slightly suspicious when he jumped up and repeadly apologized for the spill trying to wipe the stain without trying to touch her in a seemingly erted way. He came back later that day with a boquet of white roses and forget-me-not's as a form of apology and they began to start talking (much to her disliking at first).

— Christian Burner | Father | 42|smart, strict, cool, calm, caring

Cho Hyun and her father are not very close, as he was not there for her much of her young life until her mother passed away, and she and her baby brother were required to go live with him in America. Cho Hyun believes that the reason why her father never tried to contact her mother and her was because he was ashamed of having her as his daughter. She is unaware of the real reason behind why her father was never able to contact her, which is because her mother did her best to hide from him. He had looked everywhere in Korea and even France (where his wife wanted to own a cafe shop there) for her but to no avail. He never gave up on her and stayed single, resisting remarriage for as long as possible, believing in a glimmer of hope that she would come back. His family background was one of great importance as he was a sucessful business and serial euntrepreneur, that came from a long line of business related backgrounds, so when he declared that he was going to marry Eun-Kyung while they both were only 21 they implored him to rethink his decision before going through with it. Taking no heed to their words, they continued with the marriage and were hapily married for a year before Eun-Kyung disapeared while he left for a business meeting in Japan. He was told lies that she left for no apparent reason by his mother and sister when in truth, they had basically forced her to get a divorce and cut all ties with the family by feeding her lies about her husband's love towards her and how useless she was to the family name. He later found a letter she wrote to him apologizing for the things that she did not possess to be able to become a wife he could be proud of, which broke his heart because to him she was everything he valued and more. His mother and sister would not reveal the location of his wife and he grew distraught and lonely which he drowned with more work and a line of female relationships that usually ended when he decided that they were nothing like the woman he  loved. He finally decided to get married again after searching 5 years for Eun-Kyung with no luck, and at the nagging of his father.

when he learnt that his wife had died, he was hit with grief. For the few months after her death, he poured more work on himself and ordered some of his agents to go and research her life and how she was living. Learning that he had two children that she left behind left him stunned, mournful, and regretful. He was surprised that there were two children 7 years apart, mournful that he was not there for them when they were born or the first years of their life, and regretful because he thought she had another child due to his lack of live for her and also giving up on her and not searching harder for her. He orderd for the custody of the children and was relieved when the previous care-takers of the children told him that the little boy was adapted.

— Hak-Kun Haneul | Younger Brother | 9|mischevious, smart, ambitious, funny, caring, protective, loyal, loving

Hak-Kun or as his sister calls him 'Kun-Kun' (from her favorite anime Rozen Maiden) was first introduced to Cho Hyun as a baby boy and no one but Eun-Kyung, Young-Soon, and Christian know about the fact that he is adopted. Hak-Kun cannot remember his (adoptive)-mother or what she was like but still loves her very much. From a young age, he and his sister were put in the care of their father and his step-wife who he was not close to. His father does not pay much attention to either him nor his sister (in his opinion) and he is aware that his step-mother dotes on him while treating his sister in a cool manner. He is smart for being a 10 year old and he understands his step-mother's motives for her actions. During Pearl's trainee days, he often got messages from his step-mother asking for their well-being, which slowly turned into messages pleading them to come back to the states. Taking care of his big sister and her busy schedule, he saw a message that his step-mom sent to Cho Hyun, and the content of the message made him very upset and saddened.

Kun-Kun and his sister are very close and he considers her to be a very precious person in his life. He will go to extreme lengths to protect her because this is how they have taken care of each other since they were little, like when they first came to live with their father. Ever since his sister moved to Korea, he missed her greatly but he understands her need to get away from the tension and stress that she had to endure. Kun-Kun moved to Kora with his sister one year later because he missed her and he promised his father that he would watch over her as well. He lives in the suite just below her and usually goes over to her 'room' because he feels lonely in his 'room'.

when he first met Minho he was suspicious because Pearl never had any close friends much less any 'boy' friends, but he relaxed when he saw the genuine friendship between them, and also the kindness that Minho showed to both of them. He understands Minho's feelings for Cho Hyun and also his sister's thick headedness which he finds amusing, like watching a love comedy. when his sister first told him about her modeling and contract with the Entertainment company, he was startled but gave her his support because they always stuck together and he believed that if she wanted it badly enough than she would achieve her goals. He convinced his father and Step-mother to let Pearl choose her own future and path if they did not want to lose her. He met her members through Pearl and usually invites Pearl to sleep in his 'room' when all of the members are crashing because it seems so loud and stuffy. Kun-Kun helps Pearl keep her house or her 'room' clean because she is usually not very organized and used to help her get her schedule pulled together during her modeling and trainee days. He too later becomes an sm rookie

— Lily Burner| Step-Mother |36|smart, witty, stubborn, realistic, conceited, perfectionist

Lily is the step-mother of Cho Hyun and Hak-Kun. She has been married to Christian for 12 years and when he told her that his children from his first marriage were going to be living with them, she was appaled and furious. She wanted to bare Christian a heir to take over the company but with the children of his first marriage, she knew even with a child, her children would be no where close to inheritting the company. She met both of the children and realized that although the girl was much too old to influence, the younger brother might be easier to sway if she raised him right growing up. She acknowledged Cho Hyun's presence but secretly felt jealousy and longing because she sees the way that her father looked at her, always commenting how much she lookes like her mother.

She knows that it is not the child's fault and that her life has been tough but can't help the build of resentment that grows within her as the child is paied more and more attention by her father. She focuses on Hak-Kun because she wants to raise him to see her as own mother so he feels more love towards her. In this way, she believes that once the girl is out of the picture, her husband and her step-son will soon feel like a true family, and her husband will love her as much as he must have loved his first wife, or as much as she loves him. She persuaded her husband to allow Cho Hyun's request of going to Korea and was estactic when she left, finally feeling that things would begin turning her way. Instead, her father regulrly checked up on his daughter in secret and her step-son began getting more and more distant from them.

She has a ball of jealousy, longing and anger growing within her because she doesn't understand why Christian and Hak-Kun are so willing to care for Cho Hyun that they'll drop everything for her. She wants to be a part of the family, but can't seem to accept Cho Hyun because of the 'resemblance' she has to her deceased mother (as Christian often states). She tries her best to get both Cho Hyun and Hak-Kun brought back to the states in order to turn them into the family that she wants. She realizes that the only way in which Christian and Hak-Kun will consent to her is if she can get Cho Hyun to consent to her as well. when Christian and her recieved news that their daughter was a trainee, she became slightly annoyed at the hiccup within her set plan and decided that the best way to get Cho Hyun to consent and throw in the towel was if she could break her of her dream. She did not want to get her hands dirty during the process, but she saw no other way around it.

To Lily, she believes that Cho Hyun can chase after another dream back in the states, something more realistic and supporting for her future. During Cho Hyun's trainee days, she constantly sent the children emails, text messages as well as voice mail persuading them to come back. Hak-Kun recieved messages about how much he was missed and how lonely the house was without him, while Cho Hyun unluckly got guilt wrenching messages. She was asked if this career would really result in anything or if it was just a gamble, how was she going to take care of her brother when it looked more like he was taking care of her? she got told by her step-mother indirectly that her father was disappointed greatly in his daughter for choosing this path, and what her deceased mother would say if she saw her daughter now. She tried her best to get them back, but was stunned when Hak-Kun firmly told her to stop or else he would be the one to tell their father the situation and make sure that it stopped permanently.

Best of Best friends

friends —

—  (N from VIXX | Close Friends | When she first saw N, she thought she saw an angel. Later she wonderd how she could have mistaken this dark and funny guy for a heavenly being. He's pretty funny and cute when they hang out, he helps her with her moves when she's practicing sometimes and she considers him as the older brother she never had. When she tells him this, he agrees to take up the position and becomes a protective brother. He gets suspicious around Minho and takes pleasure in making him jealous by getting close to her whenever Minho's around.)

— (Lillian Yano Eun Song | Close Friends | She met Lillian when she first transfered to Jellyfish. Lillian instantly was friendly to her and it didn't take long before Cho Hyun found herself opening up to the strangely outgoing girl. Their personalities compliment each other due to both of them being outgoing. )

— (Wang Zhilian | Close Friends | Lillian introduced her to Wang and although they were partially awkward at first, they soon got along after they realized their like for sweets and cute things. Their pretty opposite to each other, with Wang being more realistic and solemn but their personalities seem to attract and even each other out.)

— (Key | Good friends | Minho introduced her to Key and she felt the mother like personality that he emitted. He is very kind and caring to all of s and Cho Hyun does her best to learn as much from him as possible.)

— (Taimen | Good friends | When she first ment Taimen, she thought he was very adorable. His personality also was very cutesy, she feels a sort of similarity between her and him because of the willingness that he contains. He is very soft-spoken and she does her best to get him to open up to her which she finds kinda funny. He is also very generous and when Cho Hyun is around him, she tries her best to make sure that he is comfortable.)

— (Onew | Good friends | At their first meeting, Onew was awkward around Cho Hyun and she realized how similar they were in trait. She instantly liked him because of similarity in dry humor. He is like an open book and it is easiest for Cho Hyun to read him, which she likes because it shows his honesty.)

What's a soulmate

love interest — Choi Minho *optional*

backup love interest — N from VIXX

personality —Outgoing, Charismatic, funny, caring, sweet

interactions —

Cho Hyun is very relaxed around Minho and she usually is more natural and open around him. She and him are in quite a strange relationship, because they are not dating but sometimes act like it. People note how they're able to quarrel like a couple or two kids playing together, but they also act like close sibblings and even very close friends. Minho and Cho Hyun heve known each other for about 2-3 years yet they act like they're childhood friends and tell each other their problems. He was the one who encouraged her and stuck by her side when she wanted to become an idol , the one with her through the thick and the thin, sad and happy.
when they first met and for the first year, Minho saw Pearl as a little sister figure and did his best to take care of her in a big brother kind of way. He showed her around Seoul, introduced her to s who were excited to meet her and immediately treat her like family or another member. Minho introduces her to all of his hyungs and gets her associated with many idols as well.
Cho Hyun usually jokingly shoots him down because she is unconsciously aware of the feelings he has for her, yet she doesn't quite know how to feel. She does not want to loose her most treasured friend and doesn't know how to cope with it so at times she does things that she sees couples do on tv or on the streets and in the end usually pulls a prank on Minho.
Minho really really likes Cho Hyun, but he is aware of her thickness so he tries to take it slow with her. She has intentionally and unintentionally shot him down so many times that he is now use to it now. He hasn't given up trying and still shows her small gestures of love, s were aware of his attraction for her before he knew about it himself and continually as well. A bit before the year was over, he realized that he liked her and that he had liked her for a while so he decides to go out with krystal in order to get over Cho Hyun

Rival — Krystal from f(x)

backup Rival — Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.

personality — straightforward, humorous, outgoing, sweet, cute, confident

interactions — Cho Hyun met Krystal through Minho and they both seemed to hit off really well. when they first met, Cho Hyun tried to be on her best behavior because she wanted to leave a good impression on one of Minho's close friends. Soon Krystal's jokes and friendliness showed Cho Hyun that she accepted her as a friend and she begins to relax. For the first year or so of their friendship, they were very close and hung out alot. Krystal always saw Minho as her ideal boyfriend and she was glad when he introduced Cho Hyun to her that he viewed her as a little sister too. After a year of friendship, she began to notice Minho's attitude and behavior becoming different more and more around Cho Hyun. She tried to ignore it and pretend that it was just his way of caring for a little sister, until Minho confessed to Krystal about his feelings for his "Pearl". Although her heart hurt, she was happy for him and wished him luck on getting her.

Krystal detatched herself from the both of them even more, and Cho Hyun reached out for her because she did not want to lose a close friend. Fed up with the agony, she told Cho Hyun the truth that she liked Minho and left out the part about him liking her. with Cho Hyun's half-enthuiasthic support, she confessed to Minho that she liked him and tells him that she'll do everything within her power to make him fall for her. when her efforts begin to draw up no result, she decides to take a low blow and targets her when she gets a spot in the girl group Red Velvet. She convinces them that Cho Hyun isn't ready to become a star yet and she is able to back this up due to the length of time in which she has known Cho Hyun. She was elated when she heard that Cho Hyun would be switching to Jellyfish Entertainment and became closer to her again.

Minho asks her out soon after Cho Hyun switched which reassured Krystal  that his feelings for her were just something short and brief. They went out for a few months in which Minho still seemed to pay alot of attention towards Cho Hyun, they broke up over an argument where Minho accidentally tells Krystal he only dated her because he wanted to see Cho Hyuns reaction and because he wanted to get over her which hurt Krystal because she realized he used her and doesn't forgive him when he apoligizes. She proceeds to telling him that it was a good thing that she got Cho Hyun to get switched out to Jellyfish Entertainment but realizes her mistake too late. Cho Hyun finds out and she is shocked and realizes sadly that she cannot trust Krystal anymore.

Krystal was fed up with the way that Cho Hyun pranced around acting like an innocent bimbo and decided that she would teach her the harsh reality of life. She befriends Minho again but understands that Cho Hyun cannot trust her anymore and uses it to her advantage by acting like the innocent one infront of others. She acts very friendly towards her while Cho Hyun usually acts quiet and cold which causes people to think that Cho Hyun is a . In private, she basically avoids Cho Hyun because she is considers her as an enemy.

Trainee Life —

Cho Hyun has a hectic schedule that she has trouble keeping up with and the fact that she's pretty messy isn't helpful for her either.

scene requests — (Amusemsnt park) [Cho Hyun, love interest] They go into a haunted house together and Minho tells Pearl that if she is scared that she can hold his hand. Cho Hyun turns towards him and tilts her head before asking "Oppa, are you scared? I can hold your hand if you want"  Minho's face turns beet red and he refuses to hold her hand the rest of the way.

(Valentines Day) [Cho Hyun with a group member or with her love interest.] "[insert name], why do we need to have Valentines day?" He/She laughed, "Because, Cho Hyun. It's to show people that you love and care for them" Cho Hyun pondered this for a moment and then turned towards [insert name] again. Lightly tugging on the corner of His/Her shirt she asked "Then shouldn't we have Valentines day every day?"
(Christmas) [Cho Hyun with love interest] "wah! Minho Minho!! Look at all of the beautiful lights! Their so pretty, they look just like stars!" Minho watched Pearl as she admired the decorations and felt a warmth bloom and spread within his chest. "Yes...so pretty" he murmered to himself not tearing his eyes away from her face.
(Meeting up at cafe to catch up)[Cho Hyun with love interest]
"Pearl, why are you ignoring your oppa? Do you hate me now, so your ignoring me?" Minho asked giving a fake pout and then cracking up over the stupidity of it. "
Haha, but seriously. why haven't you even texted me once yet? Is all the fame and admiration getting to Miss.Heart-breaker's head? Don't tell me that your oppa isn't important to you anymore!" He smirked before picking up his ceramic cup.
Cho Hyun looked at him, a smile tugged the corners of her lips, and guilt eating at the edges of her heart. She really did miss him but somehow inbetween all of the performances, signings and drama, she had completly forgotten about her Minnow!
"Oppaaaa, Sarang-hae" She said in her cutest childish voice, making an innocent face and paws like puppies. She surpressed her laughter to make sure that her feat would induce laughter from him, and it worked perfectly. Minho who was in the middle of taking a sip from his drink, began wheezing like crazy as he tried to cough and laugh at the same time.
"YAH! Heart-breaker, taking someone's heart doesn't mean literally trying to kill them!" He sputtered out when he could finally breath.
Cho Hyun let out a soft laugh "Oppa, don't worry, I would never try to kill you. I love you too much" She said with a calm face and a smile . Minho blushed "Don't say things like that so casually! It could mislead people...I see your still as naive as ever...but I care for you too, and I'll protect you with all my heart." He cleared his throat and looked away.
Cho Hyun tilted her head and stared at him "Oppa, I only say that to you and Kun-Kun. He's my brother but...your my brother.....from another mother! Don't worry, you two are still the people I treasure most, just protect your own heart." She finished with a beaming smile and nodded her head.
Minho laid his head on the table to cover his embarrassment, and let out a long sigh. 'well, luck's never on my side when I'm with her.' he thought sadly.
