Wu Chun is going to fade out of the Entertainment Circle?!!!

(Hong Kong) Not renewing his contract even though it ended, rejecting to film dramas and movies, it is rumored that Wu Chun, who has been in the entertainment industry for 5 years, is going to fade out of the entertainment circle.

Wu Chun’s contract with his agent company, Comic Productions, and H.I.M International Music ended at the end of last year, yet he has not renewed his contract as of now, 2 months after. It is said that that he quit the filming of TV drama collaboration with Korean actress Koo Hye Syun, “Absolute Darling”. “Absolute Darling” had held a press conference to mark the start of filming and had already begun filming for one day. There has also been news that Wu Chun rejected a role in Jingle Ma’s movie “Summer Holiday 2”, although he had promised to act in it beforehand.

In addition, he has also moved back to his hometown, Brunei, after the expiry of his contract. While he puts in an appearance occasionally at promotional events and performances, it is said that these are jobs that he accepted before his contract expired.

In his interview with Hong Kong magazine “Ming Bao Weekly”, Wu Chun frankly said, “Because my contract has expired, and I haven’t renewed it, everyone would think that I do not wish to continue. I have always said, I will do it if I’m happy, if I’m not happy, I will go back to Brunei. Everyone knows that the entertainment industry is not my only career. The company has discussed the contract with me, but I have not decided about my own future, so I’m putting it on hold. Before the contract ended, I accepted quite a lot of jobs, so they still have to be completed.”

Regarding the rejecting of TV dramas and movies, he explained that he needs to promote “Sunshine Angel” and “My Kingdom” from April to August, so he’s unable to meet the shooting schedule, and that it depends on the company’s arrangements. Regarding “Summer Holiday 2”, it is actually still under negotiations. He also revealed that, “the company still helps me to negotiate a lot of movies.”

Fahrenheit’s other members have already renewed their contracts

It is said that the other three in Fahrenheit have already renewed their contracts one year ago, and that Wu Chun is the only one left. This, along with Wu Chun saying before he had wanted to give up singing for his father, make the rumors of Fahrenheit disbanding rampant.

Regarding the other members renewing their contracts, Wu Chun thinks that, “Everyone has his own opinion. I’m from Brunei, and my life is not in Taiwan, so the factors I have to consider are naturally more than theirs. I need to consider very carefully before reaching a decision.”

He expressed that Fahrenheit has just released an album, and that “he has no idea when the next one would be out”.

Being asked about many companies coming to him as he has no contract, he did not deny it and only said that, “I don’t think too far. The jobs that have to be completed will have to be done first, before I can plan. Generally, for any decision I make, I have to answer to myself, and not regret it.”

Misses family so much that he thought of quitting

Very happy that he went back to Brunei, Wu Chun said frankly that he had thought about quitting the entertainment circle before.

Having earned quite a bit in 5 years, he revealed that, “Life has been quite good to begin with, but I don’t wish to use my father’s money. The money that I earn myself to take care of my own life gives me a sense of achievement. But at the same time, that kind of satisfaction is half-half, because the other half I lost was that I have no time to be with my family, and also lost my freedom.”

He has no confidence towards his career in the entertainment industry, and revealed that most of his motivation comes from the fans. “Without them, it’ll be hard to persevere on even if I earn a lot of money. My confidence comes from them, so I will not lightly say that I will quit. I will continue to be in the entertainment industry, but with lots of freedom, accepting the jobs that I like.”
