shirori :: because "shiro" means "no" and nari always say that line whenever they ask her to do something. the fans playfully combined her name with the line and tadah, "shirori" was made.

appearance » nari has a mole at the side of her right eye, which is often covered by her hair that she never ties up. the reason as to why she doesn't tie up her hair is because she has a crescent shaped birthmark on her nape that has a weird color, kind of like a mix of green and violet. her hair color is naturally black, but often dyes it to brown since it suits her better. her eyes are just normal brown ones. 

style » nari's wardrobe is just a cramped one filled with monochromatic clothes since it was said that it suits her better than any other color. if she were to dress herself, she would be completely wrapped up like a mini sushi roll. but if she would leave the picking of clothes to the stylists, she'd be wearing fitted tops and shorts since they know that she has the body to pull it off.

BACKGROUND » being the only daughter of the two siblings of a rich couple, nari lived the easy life. she gets what she wants, she could do anything she likes, and her parents would be doing nothing but to support her. her brother, cha hakyeon, was five years older than her, but that doesn't affect their closeness as siblings. it was said that maybe nari was adopted, seeing as to how different she looks like from her family and her brother. he's tanned, she fair skinned. he's short, she's tall. he's talented, she's not. well, at least that's what they think.

when hakyeon started to have interest in dancing at the age of fifteen, nari started to like it too. with their parents supporting them with their likes, they even hired a personal dance trainer for the both of them. hakyeon quickly excelled with different genres of dance, while nari excels in both ballet and hip hop. when hakyeon turned eighteen, he was sent to japan to study about more dances, while nari stayed in korea because she's only thirteen and has school to attend to.
 
nari wasn't one of the smart kids in class and was a common student among all. she used to join dance contests at their school, and often won first place with flying colors. and it was when nari decided that she already has her dream set. when her brother came back to korea after two years, he started applying to different companies, with his sister doing the same thing too.

hakyeon was accepted at jellyfish entertainment, while nari had it big time with sm entertainment. her brother was really proud of her when she auditioned because he, himself, can't even dare to audition to one of the big three companies. she was only fifteen back then. due to complications with sm, nari decided that maybe she isn't destined to be there. so she pulled out and was immediately scouted to yg entertainment. she was sixteen when she did.

at yg entertainment, she was well taken care of, even learning new talents like rapping. nari never imagined herself to be good at the said talent, but even their ceo told her that she was one of the company's best. with his motivation and words, she continued on practicing with her newly found skills. 

when she was eighteen, with an agreement of yg's ceo and jellyfish's, she was easily transferred to jellyfish entertainment with her brother. yg's ceo knows that jellyfish could take care of her more than them since the pressure on yg was too much for the young girl to handle. after a few meetings, it was decided that nari shall be training for a few months and will be debuting when she's nineteen with their first girl group, ave.

PERSONALITY » stubborn. as said above, she was born within a rich family and always gets her way with things. she always show dogged determination when it comes to her decisions, despite the others having a good reason not to do so. some of her decisions are good though, but some are just too awful and that is how nari learns in life, when she does it. she can't always have someone to help her with the decisions, right?

definitely a keeper.  literally. yes, she could have anything she wants with a snap, but this girl wants to keep her memorable things, like her training shoes that has been worn out, or that barbie doll whose head went missing ( it was hakyeon's fault ). but anything else, she would put it inside a box and have her parents send it to the orphanage without anyone knowing about it.

the nagger. despite having the cold image, she totally changes when it comes to certain things. like her room being a mess, or the members not using plates to catch the falling crumbs out of their cookies. she likes to keep everything in place, not wanting to ruin the healthy ambience of their dorm since if it isn't well kept, the members could get sick. on their rest day, nari would nag ( despite her voice being so soft and mellow )  the members to clean their rooms and to put their clothes inside the laundry basket so she could bring it to the laundry shop.

the sadist. nari often hits the members and is known for being the taekwondo player among them. she doesn't do it that hard though, just enough to make them feel a second of pain. she likes to knock their heads in a playful manner or slice their necks likes what her older brother does. sometimes, she kicks them on their tushies. whoops.

reliable. she'd exchange her perfectly fine microphone for a member's crappy one, or use another member's slippery shoes instead of her rubberized ones. without the members knowing, nari takes care of them in small ways. even though she hates skinship, she'd let you fall asleep on her shoulder when you're tired, or maybe she could even carry your things so you could easily walk at the airport.

apathetic. just when you thought that talking to her is the hardest thing to do, getting her attention is definitely harder. when she has her ear/headphones on, you do not disturb her. the leader often drags the girl by force just to make nari listen. ( if nari gets chosen, i am really sorry to the person who gets the leader position. aha. )

tenderhearted. "nari, i am really sorry. here, have a cookie." and that's how you get the girl's attention, and quite possibly get her to forgive you. the thing about nari is that she rarely, possibly never, holds grudges. her heart is too soft for that. ( surprise, surprise. ) nari isn't that mean, okay?

frank. i hate you? guess what, ask for it and i'll tell you. nari rarely speaks, but when asked, she wouldn't hesitate to tell what's on her mind. be it, real life or on a tv show. but back to nari's soft heart, when she knows that she've hurt a person because of her sharp tongue, she quietly approaches them without anyone knowing and says--or whispers--sorry.

THE STORY.

THE PAST » when nari auditioned for sm entertainment with a video of her dancing to beyonce's single ladies, she later on received a call saying that she was accepted. after a year, she decided to quit and transfer to yg entertainment. the main reason was because sm didn't train her properly, she barely even improved unlike what they promised her to be when she signed the trainee contract. when she was at yg, she was trained in the three basic fields needed to be a successful idol; sing, dance, and rap. and that was how she found out about her talent in rapping.

THE REASON » the pressure on debuting yg idols are too much and the ceo knows that nari might not be able to handle it. since he and jellyfish's ceo are quite close, he transferred her there and it was decided that she will be debuting after a year of training under jellyfish.

personality » hongbin is a playful and out going boy, totally the opposite of nari. but then again, opposites attract, right? hongbin has a habit of making other people jealous and flustered because of his teasings. and nari was one of those people. but contrary to that, he admits that he's one of the jealous type of boys. he also admitted that he's the type to pamper people with the things they like because seeing them happy makes him happy, too.
 

FIRST MEETING » it was when nari was transferred to jellyfish when she first met hongbin. she was inside the recording studio, showing a few sample raps to one of the mentors. when she opened the door while she was going out, there stumbles in an embarrassed hongbin who was leaning on the door to listen to the voice which belongs to the girl. he shyly introduced himself and nari knew that she had heard his name before. being a gentleman, hongbin showed her around jellyfish, the girl not saying a word, not even the fact that she already knows the places since her brother already gave her a tour. hongbin then offered her to watch him practice inside the dance room with his friends, to which nari gave a small nod. she never really knew that his 'friends' were 'vixx' so when she entered the room, she didn't expect the short of a brother to tackle her down, saying words such as "ah, my nari really loves me enough to visit me while preparing~". hongbin was surprised and thought 'is hakyeon hyung her boyfriend?' but later on found out that they were just siblings. "but nari looks so pretty and hakyeon looks like -" "you were saying?" "nothing, hakyeon hyung." "good."

love story » of course, hakyeon totally disagrees with hongbin liking his younger sister. hongbin was like his brother, and his brother liking his sister is just.. so weird for hakyeon. it actually took months before hakyeon gave him permission to like the girl. hongbin - sometimes with hakyeon - visits nari during her training days and often treats her out to a meal. being the stoic girl nari is, she rarely talked and only answered hongbin with a few nods or a simple hum. it took hongbin a long time before actually getting the girl to lift up her lips into a smile for a second or two. when nari gets more and more busy because ave's debut date is coming, hongbin calls her and tells her more encouraging words, while nari replies with a soft hum that serves as a sweet melody for hongbin. this goes on and on, until nari realizes that at times, even though she doesn't show it, she's starting to yearn for the boy's prescence more and more.

RELATIONSHIP » "blah blah." "..." "blah blah blah." "..." "blah." "okay." despite having short conversations, nari cherishes the times she spends with hongbin. the members often about him, but she just puts on a serious face, despite knowing that her ears are all red because of the embarrassment. hongbin knows that confessing will be too bad, even though the company has nothing against relationships. even nari is contemplating if she should admit it too. but then again, he rarely knows anything about her, will he reciprocate her feelings? but everyone else knows that he will. i mean, it's really obvious they have something going on. it's just that, the two are just so diffident.
