Ocean Flowers
Ocean SongsYou embraced me with the warmest of reverberations,
as I awoke to dawn’s light.
Submerged within the coldest of seas,
I found that I could still breathe,
so I swam far beneath the shallow reef
Wading into the ocean deep,
Encountering many things.
The richness of marine life
and abundance of underwater flora,
the result of aeons of cultivation.
I looked out into the expanse of the dark waters
and felt the vastness of this archive as my hands brushed solid ground
Saw how the past was left untouched
yet the flowers bloomed so wildly,
an undersea garden so unkempt.
These ocean flowers grew
As we patrolled these wild lands
with the tenderest of care,
with love and affection.
From a lonely you
we became two.
Growing into creatures of myths and legends,
leaving the human world in the wake of our existence.
