What I Wished For
Description
In a plain old high school in Daegu, there were kids of different groups. There were nerds, artists, jocks, party people, and a lot more. Then there is Taehyung, who was an ordinary student, and he was about to finish wrapping up school because it was his graduating year. He thought that his usual and common life would just keep going on like a broken record, but on the day that the special girl named Sowon transferred... everything around him started to change.
Foreword
"Do you want to make a wish?" He asked Sowon as he handed her a coin.
"Why would I? It's not like it would come true... " She said as she looked down at her hands.
"Come on, just give it a try" Taehyung grabbed her hand and placed the rounded silver object on top of her palm.
Sowon bit her lip in anxiety as she held the coin in her hand.
It was something that she had been thinking about for quite a long time and it bothered her throughout the months. Although she doesn't believe in this wish- making myth, her eyes were shut tight as she held on to the coin against her chest. As soon as the last word inside her head was said, she opened her eyes and threw the coin down the wishing well.
It made a continuous chiming sound as it came down the hollow and dark hole. And it joined the other coins at the bottom of the dry pit. Sowon wore a huge smile on her face, hoping that her wish would be granted.
"Nice!" Taehyung smiled as he heard the coin drop, "Come to think of it... your name goes with it"
She made a puzzled expression, "What?"
"Sowon... means wish, right?" He said it slowly like he was analyzing it himself.
"Oh yeah... " She never thought about it, but it's a bit humorous now that she just realized it.
Taehyung chuckled a bit as he looked at her intently. He thought about how her name goes well with the word, 'Wish'
"What about you?" Sowon asked as her smile disappeared.
"Me?" Taehyung was surprised, "Ohhh... uhhh" He wasn't ready for that.
"Well...?" Sowon raised her eyebrows at him.
"I already made my wish here long ago and since I treasure it so much, I didn't want to ask for more. I just needed that wish so badly that I want whoever is responsible for collecting the coins to focus on it" He said it faster than he had ever spoken before.
Sowon squinted her eyes, trying to figure out the expression on Taehyung's face.
"Oh... " He said it like he almost forgot to ask, but he really didn't. He had been waiting for this moment to ask her, "What'd you wish for?"
"It's a secret" She said with a suspicious look.
"Alright, I guess I won't tell you what I wished for either" He grinned as he looked down the well and observed how much coins there were inside.
