Hi everyone!

So a lot has happened since I last posted (our OTP photos together in Dubai and changmin even reposting it onto his own instagram and tagging it 'deer(s)' it's his first post of just himself and a female btw.) I can't express how ecstatic I was, and till now I am still reeling in happiness. Although i am content, i admit to my greed and hope for more interaction soon. enough fangirling from me now. 

I know it's been a long time since i last posted. and now we know the truth behind Changmin, we wanted a bit more changyoon interaction. So here it is. I wrote most of the chapter just now and I rushed to post it because i felt the need. Sorry in advance for any grammar/spelling mistakes.

Yoona peeks into the dance studio through the glass door. She watches as the couple man struggle in the couple dance. Boa and Taemin are watching with their arms folded, concentrating on their steps.

“no, no, no, left foot” Yeonhee yells. But it is too late and Changmin had already stepped on her foot. Yeonhee closes her eyes and tries to hold in the pain. Yoona chuckles at the clumsiness but at the same time sympathises for Yeonhee. “Ouch” she mouths.

As if Boa had received a signal of Yoona’s presence she waves at her to come in.

“Seriously, have you not danced for once in your life?” Yeonhee complains but hides her frustration well behind her laugh.

Changmin merely shrugs,

“Well I’m not the one who went to dancing school.” He retorts. Then he notices the new companion.

“Hello Yoona ssi,”

“Hello Yeonhee ssi, I didn’t mean to interrupt but I just needed to check with Boa unnie for something.

And so they continue, despite changmin’s silent objections. Taemin continues to monitor their dancing while Boa confirms details with Yoona. He even steps in to demonstrate for Changmin once again with Yeonhee, and as expected it was a smoother mastered version of the dance.

Boa tells Yoona to stay. And she happily obliges, seeking fun in watching this clumsy exercise. Throughout the dance, Changmin is distracted as Yoona looks up quizzically and curiously as if teasing him for his inadequate level of dancing skills. But he clenches his jaws and does not reveal anything through his expression. He holds his head high in feigned confidence… and of course he steps on Yeonhee once more. Yeonhee holds up her hand to stop the music. She puts her hands on her hips and looks up at Changmin with a laugh that’s part amusement part pain.

“Do you think they need to change the song?” Taemin leans towards Boa and asks quietly.

“I don’t think it’s the song, it’s the person.” Boa whispers back in a forcibly serious tone, and all Yoona can do is bite back her laughter, doing her best not to embarrass her clients.

Changmin looks over at her and stares as if demanding to know what’s wrong. She merely smiles and shrugs coolly.

Just then, a ringtone breaks the silence of the studio. It echoes throughout the emptiness of the wooden floorboards and to Yeonhee it is a relieving break. Boa quickly walks up to Changmin.

“It’s right left left right” she reminds him

“Yeah, I remember”

“your movements don’t show that.” Boa says as a matter of fact.

Yeonhee hangs up and strides towards the group. She begins by looking seriously at Changmin.

“They can’t find the document for the C&M contract. I need to head back to the office.” She says quickly, in total business mode. Changmin nods as if in approval.

“Then let’s call it a day here.”

“It’s alright. I can handle it by myself. Besides, I think you might need some more practice”

“But…” He already tries to object.

“She’s right. You definitely need practice to catch up, Shim” Boa says, almost sympathetically.

“So, I’m heading off. I’ll hand him over to you guys.”  Yeonhee says before collecting her belongings and swiftly heading out the door.

Changmin turns back to look from Taemin to Yoona to Boa. Boa has a smug smile gives an apologetic shrug that says ‘sorry there isn’t much else we can do’.

“Then should we continue?” Boa says, clapping her hands.

“I think I should head back to the office then.” Yoona says, in an attempt to dismiss herself.

“Hang on a minute.” Changmin calls. Yoona pauses cautiously in her spot.

Boa with her arms folded, shakes her head rejectedly “I’m not doing it with you. You’re too tall.”

“She’s too short” he says bluntly upon noticing that Yoona is conveniently the only other girl there. Yoona stares awkwardly from Changmin to Boa.

“Hey, I’m the one rejecting you alright?” Boa says jokingly, faking a slap on changmin’s arm.

“Alright alright Noona.” Changmin says before turning to Yoona. “you see? Miss Im? We have a bit of a problem here. So would you be able to do us this favour?”

Yoona considers her willingness – which is minimal – on the verge of saying no. But considering that he is asking nicely, and it looks unlikely Boa will not step up to it. Sooyoung is away. Her only option is to agree.

“Wait a second Yoona, you might want to change into some enclosed shoes.” And everyone spots Yoona’s ballet flats.

She gives a nervous laugh, then shrugs it off.

“I think I’ll be right.”

Changmin looks down at her and raises his eyebrows. ‘are you certain?’

“in return of the favour, I ask that you please don’t step on my toes please Mr Shim.” She asks almost pleadingly, closing her eyes momentarily to emphasise her desperation.

Boa almost laughs at the scene.

“Alright, let’s start from the beginning shall we?” Boa says, reaching out to Taemin to start demonstrating. And Yoona tries to concentrate on the steps, but inside, there is a battle of nerves going on – a result from the flight or fight reaction just now. She hugs herself for a second in nervousness, trying to steady herself (and almost as a protection). Changmin glances sideways to find his temporary partner. Though her expression is blank, he can see the underlying worry beneath her concentrated features.

Yoona only learnt basic dancing back at school so she can be quick at picking up the steps. However, It has been years since she has last danced. Let alone, this is her first time doing partner dancing as an adult. There is a constriction in her test she feels just before she hears Boa go

“So are you ready?” Boa says, walking over to guide them. Yoona heaves a deep sigh. She wipes the growing perspiration from her palms on the side of her leggings.

Changmin and Yoona start by awkwardly albeit reluctantly turning to face each other. Yoona bites her lip and looks up at him uncertainly. Changmin puffs his cheeks and exhales deeply. And their eyes meet. He holds up his arm warily. And Yoona hesitates, to speed up the process, boa help’s place Yoona’s hand in his. She turns to her unnie in surprise. And tries to close her eyes in embarrassment. She snekas a glance up at him. And he looks unaffected. Though her fingers a long for a female, his hands are a lot bigger than hers. But it seems they fit perfectly inside nevertheless. Boa then adjusts changmin’s hesitating arm onto Yoona’s waist. This time, the both of them turn to look in shock at Boa.

Then boa moves back to Taemin, ready to take them through the first step. Changmin and Yoona look at each other, they both heave another deep sigh. And they giggle.

Boa and Taemin already in position. Call out “hey are you two alright there?”

They straighten their faces, retrieving their previous awkward smiles. And nod at each other.

“alright. One.” Boa starts instructing

Yoona is very conscious of his hand on her back, and avoids looking at him at all costs. Her face is reddening so she tries to focus on something else than the constant thought about the proximity.

They turn to watch, and try to follow. But with lack of coordination, one takes a bigger step than the other.

“oop”   they both say and laugh

“that’s ok, so about one foot length backwards.” Taemin shows Changmin how much to step.

With an hour or so of practice. Everyone is breaking into a sweat. And Yoona gladly has her blushing hidden by the flushing as a result from the exercise. Yoona did have to replace her shoes with an enclosed pair of sneakers in between the dance and has suffered less from the stray steps that Changmin has taken.

Changmin has improved. They have gotten past the first verse of the song and half of the chorus. And and although she may be reluctant to admit, Yoona can feel the improvement too. When she needs to lean back, he has a sturdy enough grip on her to let her know that she is safe. When they spin out and spin back in, they somehow manage to match at the same time now. Both the trainers are rather stunned at the progress. But when they call it a day, it takes a moment for Yoona and Changmin to withdraw back into reality.

“Let’s end it there shall we?” Boa says, checking the time of her watch. “You two have done so well.” 

they look a little wonderstruck at the ending call, and Yoona’s smile slowly fades. And so does changmin’s. They realise that their hands are still linked, from the pose they just finished. Yoona quickly withdraws her hand and takes a gap, to create the distance between them once again. Changmin tries to clear his throat and casually puts his hands on his hips as Yoona looks down at the floorboards in silence.

“Thank you.” Changmin manages to say at last. Boa watches from where she was packing up, and notices the way it takes a moment for Yoona to realise that he was in fact thanking her.

“Sorry?” She finally looks up at him confusedly.

“Thank you for putting up with me”

Yoona does not know how to take it, and her mind comes up with an acceptable response just in time. She shrugs and says

“Well I guess I do have a responsibility for your wedding after all.”

“And sorry for stepping on you so many times.”

Yoona looks away for a moment, contemplating on her response. She decides to be upfront and playful

“I would like to say that it’s alright. But…yeah, it did hurt” she says jokingly, causing everyone in the room to laugh.

“So I’ll see you and Yeonhee at the next practice next week” Boa reminds Changmin cheekily before she and Taemin leave the room. And Changmin almost scowls.

“Yeah, yeah whatever.”

“So, Mr Shim don’t forget the photoshoot next week. I’ll send Yeonhee ssi a reminder two days prior.” Yoona addresses Changmin with a professional smile. He reciprocates it with a nod after a moment of hesitation. She turns, ready to leave. But he calls her back.

“Um… Yoon-“ but he cannot bring himself to say her name. Yoona turns back with a puzzled expression.

“Did you call for me?”

“You’ll be there right?”

“Well, usually the wedding planner does not need to be there…” Yoona begins explaining

“Oh. Then. ”

“But because I was the one who came up with the concept this time. I’d like to make sure everything is alright. And because Sooyoung is on leave, so I will be the one to drop by on the day.” She says. And Changmin’s expression brightens up a little – if it was noticeable at all.

“So I’ll see you then.”

“Yes. I’ll see you then. If you or Yeonhee ssi need anything, please feel free to contact me.” Yoona says, the last bit almost on autopilot. She turns and leaves the room. As soon as she was out of sight from the room, she exhales the deep breath she was holding. She leans against the wall, standing there without the determination to move, trying to catch her breath, more so her thoughts. She was also waiting for Changmin to leave in the opposite direction towards the carpark.

Perhaps she was too wrapped up in her own concerns, Yoona does not hear the approaching footsteps. So when she felt the tap on her shoulder,

“Unnie” Ju hyun, her sister calls softly. She releases a bit of a panicked scream. Although it was short, it echoes throughout the courtyard.

In the distance, Changmin hears the scream on his way through the courtyard to the carpark. He stops in his tracks trying to locate the voice, thinking it sounds familiar. He backtracks and tries to locate where the voice was coming from.

Still hidden behind the wall, Yoona presses her hand to her chest, to try and calm her nerves as her equally startled sister tries to work out what is going on.

“Oh you scared me.”

“Unnie, why are you so jumpy?”  Ju hyun asks tentatively.

“Oh I’m so sorry.” Yoona hugs her sister apologetically and lets her go. “I thought you were...”

She turns her head the corner of the wall to check if he has left, but alas

“Ah!” she lets out a similar scream again. It startles Changmin a little as well as he came just around the corner to locate her.

She covers her own mouth, the other hand still pressed on her chest in shock.

Wideyed with worry, Changmin asks

“Are you alright?”  he reaches out to straighten Yoona up into a standing position again.

Yoona closes her eyes in the pain of embarrassment and surprise.

“You don't look well.” He says, still trying to see if she is alright.  

“Unnie, are you ok?” Ju hyun asks from the side, while acknowledging the newcomer.

Finally, Yoona nods. But she cannot think of the right words to say.

“I’m alright.”

“What happened?” Changmin looks from Yoona to Ju hyun who shrugs cluelessly.

“Don’t worry, I’m alright now.” Yoona tries to convince them and starts to walk away.

“Why are you hiding here?”

“Oh…” Yoona tries to make up a story on the spot. She looks to the ground for some clues.

“well… I …. “ she looks at her shoes and immediately a thought comes to mind “my shoe fell off. When I was trying to put it back on. My sister here…” she holds Ju Hyun’s hand tightly, while gesturing to her. “who came to surprise me gave me a little bit too much of a surprise.”

Yoona tries to communicate to Juhyun to not say anything. Ju Hyun can only blink back in puzzlement.

“and then you came along so I got a double shock.” She finishes off.

Changmin takes a minute to process the ‘story’ weighing it out in his head. Then he lets out a heartfelt chuckle. He shakes his head and closes his eyes in amusement momentarily.

“your shoe fell off.” He repeats his tone painted in bemusement. It confuses Yoona.  

“Yes”

 “who are you? Cinderella?”

“haha, very funny”  Yoona laughs sarcastically, taking his dig at her.

“Besides, am I that scary?” Changmin asks playfully.

“Yes.” Yoona answers quickly without thinking too much.

Changmin nods as a gesture of understanding. But the grin hanging off his lips meant that he still sees the humour in this whole conversation.  

“No I mean.” she tries to cover up her mistake. “Yes you were at that moment.”

“unnie, your scream was scarier to be honest.” Ju Hyun says honestly.

Changmin tries to hold in his chuckle while staring directly down at Yoona. What else can she do but admit defeat?  So Yoona plants her face in her palms. She says a muffled

“Sorry”

“Apology accepted.” Changmin says as Yoona lifts her head. “But your poor sister here…”

“I’m alright Unnie.” Ju hyun confirms.

“so you’re sure you’ll be alright?” Changmin asks.

“yes. Thank you.” As Yoona starts heading back onto the concrete path towards her office.

“Alright” Changmin shrugs. “then bye for real.”

“bye.” She mumbles, as he walks off in the other direction.

As soon as he is out of earshot, Ju Hyun asks Yoona

“You were hiding from Shim Changmin?”

“I wasn’t hi-“ Yoona considers the part of the question “you know him?”

“Yes. Of course. He is an honourable alumni from our Business faculty in our university. He majored in business management, just like me. But he completed was one of the only ones good enough to get permission to complete the course in such a short amount of time. He came to our orientation day to give a talk. He doesn’t know me of course. he’s an idol to all of the students especially the girls.”

“I can’t really see why…” Yoona mumbles, as she tries to simultaneously process the information her sister just provided.

After walking a few more steps, she turns around, watching his figure disappear into the distance. As Yoona turns back to Ju Hyun, she can only manage a sad smile – one she does not wish to explain.
