It's All It Takes
GlimpsesWanting and having were created as twins
Much like the soul and the man, the line separates not the two entities
Try pulling them apart, but know that you’d fail
They are one of the same and would never isolate
The eyes are windows to the soul they say
And old age has taught me that the heart owns the man
Willpower alone would hardly contained
Soon you’d learned that your heart is your main domain
Conceal as you may behind all that you have
Hide if necessary behind the routines of life
Years behind my experience will prevail eventually
‘Cause mere milliseconds is all that it takes
To glimpse beneath your invisible veil
Do you not realize how your eyes would light up?
The distant were there, but the pull was clearer
You claimed none, but I see all
In that hidden smile that shies away from it all
From that glint in your eyes that tells me your soul is singing
From all the changes he'd caused when you’re with him
Hide no more
Hide no more
The eyes are windows to one’s soul
And the heart works without control
A look is all that is necessary
To know a gaze is worth a thousand necessities
