--- Breakthrough of heart ---

There were many things in Choi Jinri's life that added to her unhappiness, her weak health and frail body, which had completely robbed her of a normal childhood, her apparent infertility and the fact that everyone thought she was going to drop dead any given second but none of it was as hurt as much as her failed marriage.

Jinri knew about hurt, all of her life had been filled with pain, either physical or emotional. She was always sick, she had to watch her siblings care freely have fun and play to their heart contended. They simply had their seasons and generally be alive, unlike her, Jinri had to stay indoor all the time, she was forbidden to go outside, she had no chance to see how beautiful the outsider involve. Most of that time, Jinri had been almost all alone which she had learned to teach herself many things and done everything she could not to go out of her mind.

Luckily from time to time, there was a handsome boy who lived in the around the neighborhood would come to visit her. Choi Minho would never fail to charm Jinri's nanny or her parents into letting him take her out to play sometime. He came to visit her constantly and even had given her a puppy, to keep her company while he was away at university.

Naturally, Jinri had fallen in love with Minho.

But university life had made Minho a little wild and reckless. As he finished up his education, he came to know that he was meant to marry Jinri as soon as he was out of university. And Jinri had even also heard their parents talking about it.

"We are sorry that she might never breed." Said Jinri's dad. His words traced in a bitter tone. "But she'll make your son a fine wife for whatever time she has left in this world. Doctor doesn't think it will be much but I want my daughter to be happy."

"I agree." Said Minho's dad as he nodded in understanding. "I feel sorry for this poor girl and I also like her. I know that Jinri is a calming influence on Minho. And I'm not worried anything because he'll have plenty of time to produce an heir later on… when the inevitable happens."

All what she had heard break her, it galled at Jinri that they really didn't think she would ever be able to have Minho's baby but she had swallowed both tears and humiliation for the opportunity of being married to him, an only man she had ever loved.

Jinri was pretty sure Minho knew of this agreement and she wasn't actually surprised when he disagreed to the idea so much. Although they once used to be friends but who would love to be shackled to a sickly creature like her? Of course Minho wanted to enjoy every bit of freedom rather than commit with her.

Minho announced that he already had met and fallen in love with a woman and that he had asked her to marry him and she also had agreed. Hurt and in panic that she possibly couldn't have Minho, Jinri made her dad to force and speed her marriage to him. She knew that there was much at stake but she didn't really care much about such consequence she could possibly face.

Eventually, they had been married within the month. Minho had resented Jinri for it and never let her forget how she had ruined his life.

What followed was hell on Jinri. Minho had openly cheated on her and abandoned her, relegating her to a country house they had gotten as a wedding gift. The house in Busan that was meant for the sake of Jinri's weak health and Minho took that advantage and neglecting her. After all he was barely considerate when they were forced to be together and never once he wanted to hide his displeasure with Jinri.

The final string had come during one of the few times Minho had agreed to take Jinri out with him. They had been invited to the coming out party of a younger sister of one of his childhood friends.

And fate had been cruel to Jinri that night.

First, she had met by accident the woman Minho loved, Seohyun. She was indeed every bit as lovely and kind as Minho had always spoken about her. Seohyun had been so nice to Jinri, even after finding out that Jinri was the reason behind Minho's desertion of her, Seohyun's forgiveness had felt like something of a benediction.

That night, once after she received a blessing from Seohyun, Jinri really felt like something good was going to happen but just as she thought it indeed is, she was wrong. As when Jinri exited the ladies room, she had seen Minho and Seohyun arguing and was right at that short moment, her husband's words just completely killed her.

"I'm very glad to see you are here too." Said Minho, sincerity glittered in his eyes as he searched to hold Seohyun's hand but to no avail. "Seohyun please, I really miss you."

"Minho! When will you ever understand that we are already finished? Let all everything left as a buried history." Said Seohyun as she took steps back away from Minho's reach. "Now I would prefer to advise you to take your wife back home, she seems a bit indisposed."

"She always is. Has been sick all of her life." Said Minho, harsh and uncaring. "My only hope is that she'll die soon and I'll have my freedom back."

Jinri had choked down a heavy sob and barely found any leftover energy to drag herself home that night.

The next day while Minho was still asleep, Jinri decided to leave and left a note letting Minho know that she was never there to be an obstacle and upset him ever again. She'll stay out of the way and of course out of his life.

Jinri had thought that she would die soon because of bad health, broken heart and all. But she found out that her spirit tended to stubbornly cling to life. And hurt as she was, Jinri found herself living her dull life day after day, nevertheless still hoping that one day Minho would come to her, if not to love her, at least to see her again as a friend like they used to be in their childhood day.

Nearly a year went by without seeing each other than on the occasional social news and then one morning, an emergency phone call reached to Jinri unexpectedly. It was from Mr. Kim, the butler at Minho's house.

"Mrs. Choi please come quickly. Mr. Choi has been missing for over a week. And we receive no news of him at all. We fear the worst."
